Abstract

Divorce mediation carried out outside the court (community) and within court, institutions has yet to be effective even though the government has issued a Supreme Court Regulation regarding mediation in court. The achievement of mediation success, which is still below 5%, has encouraged the Supreme Court to add an article on good faith (article 7, Supreme Court Regulation No. 1 of 2016) as a principle of mediation and the threat of sanctions for parties who do not have good faith. This study aims to reveal how the good faith clause is implemented in resolving divorce conflicts through mediation and sanctions for parties who do not act in good faith at the Pekalongan Religious Court. The data mining method was carried out through interviews with mediators, mediator judges at the Pekalongan Religious Court area, parties to the conflict, and experts in the field of mediation. Data mining was carried out through observational and documentation of domestic conflict studies. The collected data was analyzed through descriptive analysis. This paper concludes that (1) the principles of mediation have not been fully carried out in good faith in resolving divorce conflicts through mediation outside the court, so mediation fails and results in the neglect of protracted conflict issues, (2) mediation in the majority of courts lack of success due to internal and external factors, and (3) the mediator or mediator judge experiences difficulties in implementing sanctions against parties who do not have good intentions in resolving family conflicts. This research recommends that outsied of the court mediation be carried out by professional mediators who support the success of the mediation process in the justice system.

Abstract

The university ranking is an achievement indicator based on reputation, especially global reputation. The objectives of this study are (1) To determine the relevance of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and PTKINs’ reputation based on SMS and Webometrics ranking; (2) To find out the correlation between KPI and PTKINs’ Reputation. This study uses mixed methods or integration of quantitative and qualitative research. The research objects were 17 PTKINs. For the analysis technique, it uses person correlation and explorative analysis. The results showed that of 51 KPI criteria, only one was relevant to the reputation of PTKINs based on the SMS ranking. In contrast, there are 13 KPI criteria that fit PTKINs' reputation based on Webometrics ranking. KPI does not correlate with PTKINs’ reputation based on SMS ranking, while KPI correlates with PTKINs’ reputation based on Webometrics ranking. For this reason, a policy is needed to synchronize KPI with WCU standards that have been recognized globally. While the implementation of ranking based on SMS needs to be reviewed because it does not reflect PTKINs' reputation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in abnormal returns and trading volume activity before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the global and national economy, including Indonesia's Islamic finance sector. This study presents a novel contribution by examining the effects of COVID-19 on Indonesia’s Sharia-based stock market, a relatively underexplored area in Islamic finance literature. The research method used is an event study, utilizing secondary data of daily stock prices and trading volume activity for 21 days before and 21 days after the first COVID-19 case announcement on March 2, 2020. The sample comprises 30 stocks listed on the JII index. The analysis reveals significant differences in abnormal returns and trading volumes before and after the COVID-19 announcement, reflecting shifts in market responses to the global health crisis. The implications of this study provide valuable insights for investors, policymakers, and Sharia-compliant companies on the sensitivity of Islamic markets to major events like pandemics. Additionally, these findings are expected to aid in developing risk mitigation strategies for the Islamic stock market to address future global uncertainties.

Abstract

The return and risk of stock investment have a high level of volatility because it depends on fundamental and technical conditions and the influence of micro and macro variables. This study aims to determine the risk and return on investment in insurance companies and analyze the effect of macroeconomic variables on the level of risk and return on investment in insurance companies. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling.  Data analysis shows that for three years, Asuransi Jasa Tania Tbk has the highest level of conclusion, which is 22.3%, and Asuransi Harta Aman Pratama Tbk. has the lowest rate of -3.3%. For three years, the value of Gross Domestic Product has increased successively so that this will cause a stock return that is proportional to the level of risk that will be faced. Changes in the inflation rate up and down for three consecutive years have a different effect every year where when the inflation rate decreases, the rate of return on investment will be high. In addition, the interest rate decreased from 4.75% in 2016 to 4.25% in 2017. Then it increased to 6.00% in 2018. The Rupiah exchange rate against the dollar is getting weaker, indicating an increase in the exchange rate. Every year from 2016 to 2018. When the rupiah exchange rate weakens, people will choose to invest in foreign currencies because the value of these foreign currencies can determine the size of the risk of a business.

Abstract

Building effective global leaders is crucial for an organization to remain competitive. While fundamental traits like personality have always been important in the context of leadership, the use of the HEXACO model in Indonesian organizational leadership development is relatively new. This research examines the impact of HEXACO traits on the leadership effectiveness of lecturers who also serve as academic leaders at one of Indonesia’s Islamic higher education institutions, which is ranked among the top 40 religious-based universities worldwide, according to uniRank 2024. A total of 147 valid responses were garnered and analyzed descriptively using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with AMOS. The results show that extraversion, agreeableness, and openness to experience positively influence leadership effectiveness, while honesty-humility, emotionality, and conscientiousness have no significant effect. Although honesty and humility are important values that support ethical behavior, global leaders require the ability to influence and adapt, be flexible, and be creatively innovative. Additionally, overly conscientious leaders tend to be inflexible and emotionally high-stress during critical moments, which makes them less dependable.

Abstract

The transformation toward sustainable finance has become a key priority in addressing climate change and economic inequality, particularly within the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. Despite their significant contribution to national economies, MSMEs often face barriers in accessing financing that aligns with sustainability principles and digital innovation. This study aims to explore the strategic role of Islamic banks in supporting MSMEs through the implementation of green financing and the utilization of cross-border QRIS as a digital financial innovation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research incorporates literature review, secondary data analysis from Islamic banks’ financial reports, and interviews with MSME actors and banking practitioners. The findings reveal that Islamic banks have substantial potential in providing sustainable financing through Sharia-compliant schemes, such as green murabahah and environmental mudharabah, which support eco-friendly MSME projects. Additionally, the integration of cross-border QRIS expands international market access for MSMEs and enhances the efficiency of cross-border transactions. The implications of this study highlight the need for strong collaboration among regulators, Islamic banks, and MSMEs to foster an inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystem. Policy recommendations include strengthening fiscal incentives for green financing, improving Sharia-based digital financial literacy, and developing payment infrastructure that supports global connectivity. Islamic banks, therefore, can act as key catalysts in driving sustainable and globally competitive MSME growth.

Abstract

The development of religious understanding today is highly diverse, ranging from moderate to radical, and is easily accessible to people of all ages. In this context, religious moderation emerges as a crucial principle that encompasses a balanced, peaceful, tolerant, and compassionate approach to religious practice. Instilling these values from an early age is essential, particularly through religious education institutions such as madrasah diniyah. Teachers play a central role in the learning process, both in conveying theoretical knowledge and in shaping practical religious behavior. Therefore, their understanding of religious moderation is essential to ensure that these values are effectively transmitted to students, fostering a generation that is both religious and courteous. This study aims to analyze madrasah diniyah teachers’ comprehension of religious moderation and how they apply these values in teaching and learning activities. A descriptive qualitative research method was employed, involving all madrasah diniyah teachers in Medono Village. Data were collected through interviews and observations conducted with teachers from five local madrasas and were analyzed using established indicators of religious moderation. The findings indicate that madrasah diniyah teachers in Medono Village possess a strong understanding of religious moderation and are capable of integrating its principles into their teaching practices. This study highlights the critical role of religious education institutions in shaping moderate religious perspectives and emphasizes the importance of equipping educators with adequate knowledge and skills to promote religious moderation effectively.
