Abstract

Writing is one of the essential things that all students must do. In writing, the delivery of ideas needs to be arranged so that the writing is easy to understand and practical. One type of writing is when students write a research article for their final project or thesis. Abstract writing is one of the crucial sections of a final project or thesis because the abstract contains an outline of the research they did. In writing abstracts, metadiscourse markers were possible because they aimed to organize a sequence of ideas, attract readers' attention, and indicate how important the information was presented. This study investigated one hundred and twenty abstract theses from six study programs at Universitas Qomaruddin. They are English Department (PBI), Mathematic Department (PMT), Industrial Engineering (TI), Electrical Engineering (TE), Mechanical Engineering (MS), and Informatics Engineering (IF). Hyland (2005) formulated the interactional metadiscourse investigated as the primary reference. The results showed that all six study programs applied interactional metadiscourse markers when writing their abstracts. Moredespite different styles and preferences in applying markers. In terms of usage of overall metadiscourse, PBI applied the most markers, while MS applied the least. In terms of variants of metadiscourse, PBI also applied the most, and MS applied the least varied markers. The reasons behind more or less usage of interactional markers were influenced by how familiar they were with using English, as it also revealed their writing style. PBI is one example that their exposure to English pretty helps them vary the way they arrange their ideas in their abstracts. However, other surprising groups were PMT and IF groups, which frequently showed the uses of metadiscourse markers. It also strengthened that English was not only dominated by English department students. It was more on how this language was known to many students at Universitas Qomaruddin. It is hoped that English as one of the international languages is no longer a big problem for students, especially in the case of abstract writing.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the strategies used by teachers in teaching listening comprehension at MAN 2 Kota Malang. The objective of the research is to find out how the teachers implemented the strategy in teaching listening comprehension. Qualitative descriptive approach was used in the research. The research was conducted at MAN 2 Kota Malang and the participants were two English teachers of MAN 2 Kota Malang. The result of the research showed that the strategies used by teachers are Bottom-Up, Top-Down, and Socio-Affective strategy. Then, in the implementation of those strategies, the teacher used stages in teaching listening. The sequence was pre-listening, while-listening, and post-listening. In every single stage, the teachers conducted an activity in every stage with several media such as song, movie, and short dialogue.

Abstract

Di dalam era yang serba digital ini, penguasaan teknologi dalam pendidikan menjadi sebuah keharusan, terutama dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan kualitas pembelajaran siswa sebagai bekal untuk masa depan mereka. SMP Ma'arif Miftahul Ulum menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan literasi numerasi siswa, salah satu faktornya adalah keterbatasan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi terkini. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan pembuatan modul ajar dan media pembelajaran berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI) diperlukan untuk memperkuat kompetensi guru. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam mendesain pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, inovatif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini mencakup sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan penerapan teknologi, dan evaluasi. Guru diberikan pelatihan pembuatan pembuatan modul ajar berbasis AI yaitu dengan Chat GPT yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sehari-hari, dan juga pembuatan media pembelajaran yang didukung AI yaitu dengan Gamma dan Canva sehingga diharapkan dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep materi yang diajarkan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pemahaman dan kemampuan guru menggunakan teknologi AI dalam pembelajaran. Guru mampu menciptakan modul ajar dan media pembelajaran berbasis AI untuk mendukung pembelajaran. Dengan adanya pelatihan ini guru juga sangat terbantu dalam hal efektifitas dalam pembuatan administrasi maupun media pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu penguatan kompetensi guru melalui pelatihan berbasis teknologi seperti AI terbukti penting dalam upaya meningkatkan literasi numerasi siswa, yang pada akhirnya mendukung peningkatan kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ialah untuk menekan pengaruh media film animasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas V sekolah dasar dan respon siswa dalam penggunaan media film animasi. Jenis penelitian ini ialah Penelitian Kuantitatif mempergunakan metode Pre Experimental Design dan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest dengan sampel sejumlah 52 siswa kelas V SDN Punggul II Sidoarjo. Instrument pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar tes siswa dan lembar angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwasanya uji validasi tes dinyatakan valid. Uji reliabilitas berjumlah 0,695 > 0,6 dinyatakan reliable. Nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol (86,92 > 76,15). Kemudian nilai uji hipotesis thitung > ttabel (4,252 > 2,00856) p-value (0,000) < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak serta Ha diterima. Respon siswa memperoleh skor 86,92% dengan kategori sangat baik berarti siswa merasa tertarik kepada media film animasi serta diperoleh pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa.
