Abstract

Capital markets are often interpreted as a market for a long-term financial instrument (securities) (its maturity is more than 1 year). In addition to that understanding, the capital market is also often associated as a place for the transaction of the party that needs funds (the company) and the Excess party (financier). The initial step of Sharia capital market developments in Indonesia began with the issuance of sharia funds on 25 June 1997 followed by the issuance of sharia bonds at the end of 2002, followed by the presence of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) in July 2000. The marketable securities traded on the stock exchange include stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Marketable securities are often referred to as ' financial instruments ' or ' securities ' or ' Sekuritas ' (Securities Act No. 8 year 1995 defines the capital market as "the activities concerned with public offerings and securities trading, public companies relating to securities, published, as well as institutions and professions relating to the securities". The capital market acts as a liaison between investors and companies or government institutions through the long-term trading of financial instruments. In an effort to support the realization of the Indonesian capital market to become a resilient and global economic driver of the national economy as stated in the Indonesian capital market blueprint, it needs to be done continuously to improve and expand the capital market infrastructure towards the better direction.

Abstract

This paper proposes a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework to enhance learning support in Islamic boarding schools post-COVID-19. The framework consists of five stages: problem identification, planning, action, reflection, and evaluation, and is designed to ensure the involvement and engagement of all stakeholders in decision-making. The PAR approach was implemented in three pesantrens in East Java, Indonesia, involving 45 teachers, 90 students, and 60 parents. The results showed that the PAR approach enabled active participation and collaboration among stakeholders, leading to the identification of key challenges, development of an action plan, and implementation of various interventions. The reflection and evaluation stages allowed for continuous feedback and improvement, resulting in positive outcomes such as increased student engagement, improved teacher performance, and strengthened parent-school relationships. The findings suggest that the PAR approach can effectively enhance learning support in Islamic boarding schools post-COVID-19 and can be adapted in different contexts and settings. The proposed framework can serve as a model for reviving and revitalizing Islamic boarding school education post-COVID-19, and can help ensure sustainable development

Abstract

This community service program addresses the challenge of limited access to hand sanitizers in local communities during the COVID-19 pandemic by applying the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach. The program leverages local resources, specifically betel leaves and lime, to produce affordable and sustainable natural hand sanitizers. The method involves the collection of these natural ingredients, followed by the formulation and production of hand sanitizers, which are then distributed to the community. The program also includes educational initiatives, such as workshops and demonstrations, to teach the community how to create and use hand sanitizers effectively. The results show a significant increase in the community's awareness of hand hygiene and the adoption of healthier behaviors. This initiative empowered local residents to become more self-reliant in maintaining hygiene, thereby contributing to the collective effort in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
