Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mesdeskripsikan analisis kebutuhan mahasiswa terhadap bahan ajar mikrobiologi. Metode penelitiannya adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 24 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan Biologi Universitas Islam Balitar yang telah menempuh mata kuliah mikrobiologi dan dosen pengampu mata kuliah mikrobiologi. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara dan angket. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar wawancara untuk dosen pengampu dan lembar angket mahasiswa untuk analisis kebutuhan bahan ajar mikrobiologi. Data hasil wawancara dianalisis secara deskriptif dan data hasil angket dianalisis dengan dibuat persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa belum tersedia bahan ajar untuk mata kuliah mikrobiologi dan perlu dikembangkan bahan ajar mikrobiologi berbasis gambar dan teks salah satunya yaitu atlas

Abstract

The problems obtained from the preliminary study indicated that there was no learning media for thematic learning for "Kenampakan Alam" material at grade III of elementary school. The direction of research to develop Agami media became learning support for grade III of elementary school, especially the theme of "Benda Disekitarku". This research and development applied the Borg and Gall models. This research was carried out in seven stages, namely potential and case, data accumulation, product design, design validation, design revision, exhibition product, and product revision. The type of data was feasibility and quality data of the media. The instrument was a validation questionnaire to calculate the feasibility of the media and students' response to criterion quality of media. The subjects in this study were 12 students at grade III of elementary school in Doko. The results of the validation by three experts, namely a media expert, a material expert, and a linguist expert, obtained an average of 95.2% with a feasible criterion. Then, the result of students' response got a score of 93.75% with a very feasible criterion and  was suitable for third grade elementary school students. The results from the validator’s assessment and student responses found that Agami media was feasible for thematic learning at grade III of elementary school. It is expected that the Agami media can be further developed by the next researchers until the 10 stage of Borg and Gall to achieve better educational goals and effectiveness in learning outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Vocational High School (SMK) has an essential role in printing a workforce that can produce superior products. The limited facilities of production infrastructure and the turtle of experts who accompany it become an obstacle in its implementation. This community service activity aims to provide training in processing local products superior to Blitar and its surroundings, namely pineapple and coconut water in SMKI An-Harul Ulum Kademangan so that products are produced in the form of nata de pina that are quality, worth consuming, and have selling value. Method: Devotional activities are carried out by debriefing materials and mentoring about local pineapple product processing techniques and entrepreneurs. The training site is centred in a laboratory with 20 students. Results: The results of this devotion can improve students' skills in the process of processing local pineapple products as nata de pina and improve students' ability to be entrepreneurial, as shown by the results of student response to local pineapple product processing training activities at SMKI Anharul Ulum Kademangan is quite good with reaction level indicators of 83%, learning level 79%, behaviour level 80%, and the resulting level is 80%. Conclusion: This pineapple and entrepreneur local product processing training activity can improve students' skills in the process of processing local products in this case the manufacture of nata de pina and improve students' ability in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Karangsari is the largest producer of Karangsari starfruit varieties in Blitar City. To support community food security as well as to preserve the Karangsari star fruit variety and promote the economy of the community in Karangsari village, most of the people's yards are used as star fruit orchards. Karangsari star fruit harvest is usually sold in the form of fresh fruit. This fresh fruit does not have a long shelf life. During the harvest season, star fruit prices tend to be low. Overripe fruit, defects due to insect bites, and those that do not match the sales size grade are usually just thrown away and not used. As a result, the income of farmers has decreased. The target focus of this community service activity partner is the UMK community group in the Karangsari village. The priority problem from partners is the lack of partner skills in processing star fruit, especially those that do not sell due to overripe or slightly defective (damaged) and do not match the sales size grade. This activity aims to improve the skills of partners in making nata de Averrhoa carambola as a processed product of Karangsari starfruit which can be used as the flagship product of MSEs in Karangsari. In this activity there are several methods carried out, namely (a) providing material on the technique of making nata de Averrhoa carambola, (b) training in making nata de Averrhoa carambola, and (c) assistance in processing nata de Averrhoa carambola so that it becomes ready-to-eat food or drink. for consumption and sale. Through this training activity, the Karangsari UMK group has the understanding and skills in processing starfruit into nata. In addition, the MSE group is motivated to develop superior products from star fruit nata. However, the packaging and labeling of processed nata products is still less attractive to consumers. Therefore, it is necessary to continue with special training related to packaging and labeling of processed nata products that are more attractive and have a selling value.

Abstract

Karangsari has a starfruit picking agrotourism which is managed by the Suryasari community service. The Agrotourism of starfruit provided visitors a very simple and less varied service. The most common package taken by visitors is the starfruit picking package. Meanwhile, the implementation of the education package is still not optimal because the education provided is only a brief explanation about the cultivation of star fruit that is given while walking around the garden while picking the starfruit. Priority partners problems arises are less than optimal services in Agrotourism, especially in education packages, lack of partner skills in processing star fruit, especially star fruit that is overripe or slightly defective (damaged), and not yet optimal digital marketing so that the number of visitors is still limited from the area. local. The purpose of this activity is to empower the Suryasari community service in improving agro-tourism services and marketing through the product-based STAR edutourism model to improve tourism services in Karangsari Belimbing Picking Agrotourism. The methods applied in this activity include: (a) socialization and discussion about the product-based STAR edutourism model, (b) training on how to become an edutourism guide indoors and outdoors, (c) training on making nata de Averhoa carambola, (d) training in technical- digital marketing techniques, and (e) assisting partners in implementing product-based STAR edutourism packages to digital marketing. The results of this service could increase the partner's quality to become indoor and outdoor edutourism guides, increase the partner's ability to process starfruit into nata, and increase the partner's ability in digital marketing as shown by the results of partner responses to training activities that are quite good with 95% reaction level indicators, learning level 87%, behavior level 83%, and result level 80%. PkM activities also increase digital marketing activities by partners with the Karangsari Picking starfruit Agrotourism website. This activity has a positive impact on the Suryasari community service so that it is more qualified and able to provide maximum service for visitors to Karangsari starfruit picking agrotourism, Blitar, East Java.

Abstract

Waste accumulation is a common problem in the community, including in the school environment. This problem occurs due to school residents' lack of knowledge and expertise in recycling waste. This activity aims to provide knowledge and practice in processing organic waste in the school environment into compost and MOL. The activity at SDN Kanigoro 03 Blitar with target partners of 20 students and two teachers. The activity stages are 1) presentation and discussion of materials about the types of waste and their processing, and 2) group practicum to process organic waste. The result of this community dedication is that it can improve students' understanding and ability to recycle organic waste by 82.19. Students and teachers can process organic waste into compost and MOL, as shown from the results of the response questionnaire with an indicator reaction level of 87.33%, learning level of 91.5%, and behavior level of 88.67%, and result level of 97%. The conclusion is that the understanding of students and teachers in processing organic waste increases and can process organic waste into compost and MOL. --- Penumpukan sampah di lingkungan sekolah menjadi masalah. Permasalahan ini terjadi akibat kurangnya pengetahuan dan keahlian warga sekolah dalam mengolah sampah, sehingga proses pengolahan sampah organik perlu dilakukan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan praktek mengolah sampah organik di lingkungan sekolah menjadi pupuk kompos dan MOL. Kegiatan dilakukan di SDN Kanigoro 03 Kabupaten Blitar dengan mitra sasaran sebanyak 20 siswa dan 2 guru. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan yaitu 1) presentasi dan diskusi materi tentang jenis-jenis sampah dan pengolahannya, dan 2) praktikum secara berkelompok mengolah sampah organik. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan pengetahuan siswa dan guru dalam pengolahan sampah organik sebesar 82,19. Siswa dan guru dapat mengolah sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos dan MOL yang ditunjukkan dari hasil angket respon dengan indikator reaction level sebesar 87,33%, learning level sebesar 91,5%, behavior level sebesar 88,67%, dan result level sebesar 97%. Kesimpulannya adalah pemahaman siswa dan guru dalam mengolah sampah organik meningkat dan dapat mengolah sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos dan MOL.

Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 in the 21st century presents its own challenges for all groups, including preservice teachers, to be able to quickly adapt to the progress of the times and technology, and solve all problems quickly, precisely, and wisely. To face the challenges of the 21st century, students need good critical thinking skills. By possessing good critical thinking skills, students can plan, monitor, and evaluate the steps they take both in learning activities and in problem solving. This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills of preservice teachers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Islam Balitar. This survey research was conducted in April–August 2020 with a total sample of 118 students from the Biology Education, Pancasila and Civic Education, English Education, and Elementary School Teacher Education study programs. Critical thinking skills were measured by an essay test and analyzed with the critical thinking rubric developed by Zubaidah et al. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the students' critical thinking skills were in the underdeveloped category.

Abstract

Based on preliminary observations that show that as many as 51,2% of 123 students stated that biology lessons were a difficult lesson. As many as 77,3% of students experience learning difficulties on virus material. Learning activities can not be separated from the use of learning media. This development aims to know the valid of flip chart learning media on virus material for high school students of class X. This research is a Research & Development (R&D) study using the Thiagarajan et all 4D development model, which is limited to the develop stage. This development research resulted in flip chart learning media through validation by a team of experts getting a total value of 80% with a valid category. Readability test results by students amounted to 94% with a very valid category. Flip chart learning media is worthy of being used as a learning medium on virus material.

Abstract

Penggunaan media pembelajaran untuk membelajarkan materi ekosistem pada siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar(SD) di wilayah kabupaten Blitar masih sangat terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengembangkan mediadiorama ekosistem untuk kelas V SD, 2) untuk mengetahui efektivitas media diorama ekosistem yang digunakan dalampembelajaran kelas V SD, 3) untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan media diorama dalam pembelajaran terhadap hasilbelajar siswa kelas V di SDI Hasanul Amin Talun Blitar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research andDevelopment dengan mengacu pada model pengembangan Borg and Gall yang dibatasi hingga tahap ke tujuh (revisi).Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDI Hasanul Amin Talun Blitar. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan angketdan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase penilaian ahli media, materi, dan bahasa berturut-turut adalahsebesar 80.89%, 66%, 73.33%. Rata-rata skor dari ketiga validator diperoleh nilai sebesar 73.41% dengan kategorimedia layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Hasil uji respon guru dan siswa terhadap penggunaan media dioramaekosistem diperoleh persentase skor secara berturut-turut sebesar 91.1% dan 90.6% dengan kategori “sangat baik”.Media diorama ekosistem juga terbukti signifikan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil belajar siswa yangbelajar dengan media diorama ekosistem juga terbukti lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian dapatdisimpulkan bahwa media diorama ekosistem yang dikembangkan valid dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran sertadapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas V SD.
