Abstract

Critical thinking and creative thinking skills are needed to improve the quality and competitive human resources. Therefore, the application of appropriate learning models is expected to stimulate students' critical thinking and creative thinking skills. This research aims to improve critical thinking and creative thinking skill scores using the ASICC learning model. This type of research is classroom action research which is carried out in 2 cycles, with 3 meetings in each cycle. Data on students' critical thinking and creative thinking skills were collected using essay tests on science learning materials. Data analysis was carried out by comparing the N-gain scores in cycle 1 and cycle 2 for students' critical thinking and creative thinking skills. The results of the research revealed that there was an increase that occurred in cycle 2, namely 5.6% in the aspects of moderate critical thinking skills and high creative thinking, as well as in the aspects of critical thinking skills and high creative thinking by 5.6%. Meanwhile, in the previous cycle, these two aspects did not have a high category. Another result found from this research is that students who have low critical thinking skills do not necessarily have low creative thinking skills. This is because students who have low critical thinking skills may have moderate creative thinking skills or vice versa. Thus, the application of the ASICC learning model is effective in improving the scores of critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills of students at Junior High School 5 Kertosono.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of interactive quizzes in the learning process in elementary schools. The approach used was descriptive qualitative. The research stages included planning, conducting observations, interviews with teachers and students, distributing needs questionnaires, and reviewing literature from online journals during the 2020–2024 period. Data collection techniques included direct classroom observation, structured interviews, questionnaires, and literature review. The data obtained showed that interactive quizzes such as Bamboozle, Wordwall, and Quizizz have been used in learning, particularly in Indonesian and science subjects. The quizzes were presented in both group and individual formats, with an attractive display that stimulated active student engagement. Teachers stated that interactive quizzes facilitated the delivery of material and improved student understanding. Meanwhile, students felt more enthusiastic and less bored during the learning process. The results of observations and interviews showed that average student grades increased, with scores ranging from 75–95. This finding is supported by literature studies that confirm that interactive media has a positive impact on motivation and learning outcomes. In conclusion, the use of interactive quizzes is an effective and enjoyable learning strategy that can improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Wellhead has a vital role for humans. Conservation efforts are key to maintaining springs. However, local wisdom-based conservation, particularly cultural practices, has received more attention than science-based conservation. This study aims to determine the cultural ritual practices at Sendang Tirto Kamandanu and their role in conservation. The study was conducted from November 2024 to April 2025 using a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods in Menang, Pagu, Kediri. The data consisted of recordings and photographs obtained through interviews using the snowball sampling technique, involving the head of the cultural and nature conservation division of the Kediri Regency Tourism Office, the head of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) of Menang Village, the site caretaker (juru kunci), and visitors. The data were then compared across respondents to identify similarities, differences, and emerging findings within the studied population. Finally, conclusions were drawn and presented in a narrative form. The results revealed five ethnoconservation practices at Sendang Tirto Kamandanu: ritual mandi suci, nimba banyu, pengkain kuning, sesrawung ringin sanga, and 1 suro. Through these cultural ritual practices, Sendang Tirto Kamandanu has been well maintained and conserved to date. This research is expected to enrich ethnoconservation studies in environmental conservation education, especially at Nusantara PGRI Kediri University.

Abstract

The daily manager of the Irenggolo Kediri tourist area is a group of residents who are members of PK-5. Based on the results of observations and interviews, it is known that the residents do not know the application of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) and how to make it. The purpose of this activity is to increase the skills of residents in processing waste into fertilizer, as well as being able to apply it to existing plants. The method of implementing this activity is divided into two, namely socialization about the application of POC and the role of plants for the ecosystem; as well as demonstrations of making POCs and training in their application. The results of this activity are in the form of products (1.8 liters of POC pineapple waste from the fermentation process) and the skills of residents in applying POC. As many as 75% of residents can apply POC correctly, and 55% of residents begin to design household waste processing into POC. So it can be concluded that this activity can improve the knowledge and skills of residents.
