Abstract

Abstract

Learning in the SMP Pawyatan Daha 2 Kediri with multistrategi. This condition causes the social interaction of students, students' awareness in solving the problem and apply the concepts learned in the real world are underdeveloped. In response to these problems applied learning model based PBL local materials. The expected application of the model is more active students to inquire and interact actively to the problems around them, causing a deep impression in learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PBL model’s local materials based to metacognition skills, inquiry skills and social skills and eighth grade students of SMP Pawiyatan Daha 2 Kediri. This study is a quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design that uses the class as a control (multistrategi) and one class as the experiment (PBL). Used several instruments to support this research that metacognition skills measurement using metacognition skills assessment rubric in the form of pretest and posttest are integrated on cognitive achievement test, measuring inquiry skills such as observation sheets, measuring social skills of students in the form of a questionnaire. Data metacognition skills and inquiry skills were tabulated and analyzed using SPSS 16 for windows parametric t-test analysis and social skills using descriptive analysis. This study shows that: (1) there are differences posttest in metacognition skills in the experimental class and control class (t.hit = 2.501> 2.00665), (2) with a control group of inquiry skills experiment (t.hit = 3.130> 2.00665), (3) social skills showed that the experimental class better than the control class. It was concluded that the model PBL locally based material (utilizing the materials and tools around the student) is effective for improving metacognition skills, inquiry skills and social skills class VIII SMP Pawyatan Daha 2 Kediri. Keywords: Problem-based learning, metacognition skills, inquiry skills, social skills

Abstract

Biology teachers are expected to have competence of 21st century skills, including mastering aspects of genetic material that continues to be advented. Therefore, studies that aim to empower genetic study needs to be done. This study aimed to describe some of the obstacles encountered during the course of genetics for prospective teachers UNP Biology in Kediri to be immediately followed up. This research was a case study, conducted by participant observation for three academic years (2013 - 2015) in the lecture class genetics. This study shown that the unavailability of relevant teaching materials, genetics practices were not supported of the concept, yet supported tools - genomic analysis, and lecturing genetics have not utilized the development of genomic data base that continues to grow. This condition causes the students still have misconceptions about the structure of the genetic structure, the regulation of gene expression, mutation, and recombination of genes. Keywords: genetics, biology teachers, program evaluation

Abstract

Abstract- Waste is a complex problem that is common in urban areas. The aims of this research to study the seedlings growth of Samanea saman on landfills media of Klotok Kediri. Breeding experiments was conducted during June-November 2013 on passive landfills and Laboratory of Biological Plant Physiology UNP Kediri. The factors of this research consist of a media i.e soil-compost, landfills, and landfills-compost. The second factor consist of fertilizers i.e without fertilizers, NPK with recommended, and arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi. The observed data was a percentage of normal living plants, plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves. The results of this research that the landfills and landfills-compost was reduced the growth of Samanea saman seedling up to 20%. Application of arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF) was helped growth seedling up to 100% on landfills and landfills-compost media. AMF was increased significantly of plant height, diameter growth, stem, and leaf number of Samanea saman seedling on the landfills. Keywords: Samanea saman, CMA, TPA Klotok

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the anticancer mechanism of the bioactive compound of Pisangulin angulata and to assess the feasibility of that results as teaching material. This research includes descriptive explorations. In the first stage, an in silico analysis was performed by molecular docking method between physalin compounds and GLI1 protein. The second steps of this study aim to develop teaching materials based research using the Analysis, Reorganizing, Piloting Class, and Evaluating (ARPE models). Feasibility test was carried out by experts and practitioners. Think Pair Share was used in the pilot project. Student motivation and misconception were recorded using SMI and CRI instrument. This study reveals that physalin B has higher activities than controls. The type of chemical bond that is formed between GLI1 amino acids residues with physalin is hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic bonds. The visualization of the types of bonds in that molecular docking between GLI1 amino acid residues and physalin has a high degree of feasibility (89) and can be used to enrich Chemistry for Biology lectures. The visualization of these chemical bonds can increase learning motivation and can improve the understanding of the concept of chemical bonds.
