Abstract

This research aims to examine unlawful practices committed by financing institutions in the process of transferring rights by using absolute power of attorney and examine the legal consequences of using absolute power of attorney against the law. The research uses a statutory approach and applicable regulations along with legal principles used to examine the problem under study. The conclusion obtained is that in practice there are still many financing institutions in collaboration with authorized officials who still practice debt and credit mixed with buying and selling, therefore the use of absolute power of attorney in the transfer process is a legal act prohibited by laws and regulations which can be canceled and null and void and is a form of abuse of circumstances and vigilante efforts. The legal consequences of the practice of unilateral transfer of rights using an absolute power of attorney are a form of legal smuggling where when the conditions for the validity of the agreement are not met, which include subjective conditions in the form of an agreement containing elements of unlawful acts and objective conditions regarding legal causes because they violate the Civil Code and Presidential Instruction Number 14 of 1982 concerning the Prohibition of the Use of Absolute Power of Attorney as a Transfer of Land Rights which was later replaced and refined in Government Regulation No. 24 of 1997 concerning Land Registration.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the urgency of regulations specifically addressing the misuse of deepfake technology as a form of legal protection for victims of Online Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Artificial intelligence (AI)-based deepfake technology can create highly realistic visual content but is also prone to misuse, especially for non-consensual pornography and the dissemination of false information that damages individuals' reputations. This research employs normative legal methods, examining Indonesian laws and regulations such as the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (EIT Law), the Pornography Law, the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law), and the Criminal Code (KUHP). The results indicate that, although there are existing regulations that could apply, there are no specific regulations addressing deepfake technology, resulting in suboptimal victim protection. Specific regulations are necessary to provide preventive protections, restrict the creation and dissemination of illegal deepfake content, and enforce stricter sanctions. Additionally, increasing digital literacy and public legal awareness is crucial as a preventive measure. With comprehensive regulations, it is hoped that the rights of GBV victims will be better protected and the misuse of deepfake technology minimized.

Abstract

Urticaria is a condition of skin disorders. Based on the duration of symptoms, chronic urticaria occurs > 6 weeks. Chronic urticaria is caused by endogenous factors unrelated to an external physical stimuli. Vitamin D is an immunoregulatory hormone that activates innate and adaptive immune responses. A literature search was conducted in PubMed, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and ProQuest with a publication year limit of 2011–2023. The keywords used were "vitamin D deficiency and urticaria" and "vitamin D and urticaria". The present review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020. This review included four case reports from 2247 articles. All cases showed a low risk of bias. Two studies found were case-control studies that met the inclusion criteria. The Johanna Briggs Institute checklist was used to assess the risk of bias. The data were presented descriptively. Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is more common in women than men.. Patients CSU had < 30 ug/ml vitamin D level and experienced reduced urticarial symptoms after receiving vitamin D (p < 0, 001). Vitamin D2 supplement at 20,000 IU for 6 weeks alleviated urticarial symptoms in patients CSU. Alongside vitamin D, antihistamines, and corticosteroid were also recommended as a comination therapy, leading to a better clinical outcome. Vitamin D supplementation reduces symptoms in patients with CSU. A combination therapy with antihistamines and corticosteroid should be considered in clinical practice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) mechanisms, gender diversity, and profitability on financial distress in manufacturing companies in the consumer non-cyclicals sector listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange during a specified period. Financial distress is a critical condition that can threaten a company's operational continuity. The methodology employed is logistic regression analysis with a sample of companies that meet certain criteria, resulting in a comprehensive dataset. The findings indicate that institutional ownership and audit committees do not have a significant impact on financial distress, while gender diversity also shows no meaningful effect. Conversely, net profit margin is found to negatively influence financial distress, indicating that companies with lower net profit margins are more vulnerable to financial difficulties. The developed regression model demonstrates substantial explanatory power regarding the variation in interest coverage ratios based on the independent variables studied. This research provides important insights for companies and stakeholders in implementing good governance practices and considering gender diversity as a factor in financial risk management. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of theory and practice in accounting and financial management, as well as assist companies in preventing financial distress and enhancing long-term performance.

Abstract

Indonesia continues to face the issue of stunting. Infants with a body length of less than 48 cm and a body weight of less than 2500 grams are susceptible to stunting. This study aimed to examine the variables that impact the weight and body length of neonates. This research was characterized as observational analytic, utilizing a cross-sectional approach. The population comprises mothers who gave birth in Tulungagung Regency in 2021. The research sample consists of mothers who met the inclusion criteria for maternal pregnancies, including high-risk and got assistance from health cadres during pregnancy. The sample also includes the babies born to these mothers. The data was gathered by testing hemoglobin levels, stature, mass, mid-upper arm circumference, and the length and weight of newborn infants. The data were subjected to analysis using multiple linear regression tests. The maternal weight gain during pregnancy and mid-upper arm circumference had the potential to impact the body length and weight of the baby. Meeting the appropriate nutritional requirements during pregnancy enhances the nutritional well-being of expectant mothers, enabling them to offer optimal nourishment for their developing fetuses and promoting proper growth and development.
