Abstract

As the counseling field continues to develop, there is increasing recognition of the importance of integrating indigenous knowledge and cultural perspectives into therapeutic practice. The rapid emergence of the field of cultural-based counseling in the last few decades raises critical questions, as to what extent cultural counseling is used in the world of the 21st century. This article aims to provide a detailed overview of using a bibliometric approach to study research trends in counseling based on local wisdom. The method used is bibliometric analysis. The VOS viewer device is an analysis tool with the main data source coming from Scopus articles. Research findings show that the growth in the number of scientific publications related to Local Wisdom-Based Counseling in the 2018-2023 period experienced an increase in interest and focus, namely in 2019 and 2022. Based on the affiliation for the keyword Counseling Based on Local Wisdom, 15 affiliates have publications about Counseling Based on Local Wisdom. In the 2018-2023 period, 9 countries have publications on Counseling Based on Local Wisdom. Furthermore, for the concept that dominates around Local Wisdom-Based Counseling, the highest percentage is in the field of social science, namely 31.3%, while in the fields of psychology and counseling and mental health, it only reaches 12.5%, the remainder is in other fields. The findings in mapping local wisdom-based counseling articles with main data from the Scopus journal are still minimal when compared to the diversity of cultures in the world..

Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders. This qualitative study explores the opportunities and challenges of reforming rehabilitation through formal education at the Youth Rehabilitation Center Class II A Bengkulu. The program aims to enhance academic skills, life competencies, and self-esteem among juvenile offenders. Using a purposive sampling method, the study involved 14 informants, including a head of education and community guidance, a teacher, and 12 foster children. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Findings reveal that educational initiatives at the center significantly boost foster children's confidence, motivation, and optimism about their future. The institution's strategic location, dedicated educators, and adequate infrastructure support these efforts. However, several challenges persist, such as limited cooperation from the children’s previous schools, insufficient facilities, a lack of subject-specific resources (e.g., science), and a shortage of qualified teachers. This study provides a detailed analysis of integrating formal education into rehabilitation programs and offers recommendations for improving the quality of educational services in juvenile rehabilitation centers. These insights aim to support the development of inclusive, sustainable, and education-focused rehabilitation policies.

Abstract

Kehadiran buah hati ditengah-tengah keluarga merupakan hal yang dinantikan oleh setiap pasangan suami istri. Karena salah satu hakikat dari sebuah ikatan pernikahan adalah untuk melanjutkan keturunan yang berkualitas dan shalih. Selain itu kehadiran buah hati merupakan salah satu pelengkap kesempurnaan sebuah keluarga. Adanya buah hati menjadi semangat untuk terus belajar dalam memperbaiki diri, semangat dalam mencari nafkah dan juga sebagai pelipur dikala lelah. Namun tidak semua pasangan suami istri dapat langsung dikaruniai keturunan setelah menikah, masih banyak yang diuji dan ditunda oleh Allah untuk memproleh keturunan. Berbagai cara Medis, terapi pengobatan tradisional herbal, hingga sampai ke pengobatan paranormal telah dilakukan namun belum membuahkan hasil yang diharapkan.Metode terapi yang akan dipaparkan dalam tulisan ini adalah dengan terapi yang diajarkan dalam Islam, yaitu; dengan amalan Istighfar dan sedekah,sehingga usaha yang dilakukan akan semakin sempurna. Meskipun kecanggihan teknologi kedokteran dan juga beragam obat-obatan herbal diikhtiarkan untuk mendaptkan keturunan, namunagar semakin sempurnanya ikhtiar perlu didukung dengan terapi-terapi secara spiritual, sehingga akan membangun kedekatan antara manusia dengan RabbNnya, yaitu melalui terapi Istighfar dan Sedekah. Selanjutnya tulisan ini juga akan membahas berbagai pengalamanriil yang telah berhasil memperoleh keturunan dengan menjalani terapi Istighfar dan sedekah.

Abstract

This article discusses the essential professional skills in career counseling to assist individuals in understanding their potential, exploring career options, and making informed decisions based on their interests, values, and competencies. This study aims to identify and analyze the key competencies that career counselors must possess to provide effective services. The method used is a literature review by examining relevant theories and research. The discussion covers various critical aspects, such as the career counseling process, techniques used in counseling sessions, career assessment, and managing career information and technology. The analysis results indicate that career counselors must have strong communication skills, an in-depth understanding of career theories, the ability to interpret assessments, and proficiency in utilizing technology to support career guidance services. Additionally, continuous professional development is a crucial factor in enhancing service effectiveness and ensuring that career counselors can adapt to changes in the job market and the evolving needs of clients. This study contributes to the field of career counseling by providing a comprehensive synthesis of essential competencies required for career counselors, highlighting gaps in existing training and practice, and offering recommendations for future research and professional development programs. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for practitioners and researchers in designing more innovative, evidence-based, and responsive approaches to career challenges in the modern era. Thus, career counselors can provide more adaptive, relevant, and client-centered services.

Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of research trends on bullying within the counseling field, based on 174 peer-reviewed articles indexed in the Scopus database between 2014 and 2024. Bibliometric techniques—including keyword co-occurrence mapping, co-authorship network analysis, and citation tracking—were conducted using VOSviewer to identify dominant themes, influential authors and journals, and patterns of scholarly collaboration. The analysis revealed eight major keyword clusters, primarily centered around childhood adversity, mental health outcomes, and counseling-based intervention strategies. Prominent contributors included authors such as Espelage, D.L., and journals such as Children and Youth Services Review, School Psychology International, and the Journal of Counseling & Development. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia emerged as the most productive countries, with medicine, psychology, and social sciences dominating the subject areas. Research output peaked in 2021 and 2023. Despite the overall growth in scholarly interest, topics such as cyberbullying and anti-violence education remained underrepresented, indicating important gaps for future exploration. These insights offer a clearer understanding of the field’s evolution and provide valuable direction for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers committed to advancing bullying-related interventions in counseling contexts.

Abstract

Background: Every parent expects the presence of a child, ideally one who is perfect and without shortcomings. However, the reality is that some children are born with disabilities, which requires special attention in their development, especially in preparing them for future careers. Objective: This study aims to determine the role of SMALB (Sekolah Menengah Atas Luar Biasa) in Bengkulu City in providing career guidance services to students with disabilities. Method: The research utilized a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to deeply understand the lived experiences of students. The study was conducted at Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri (SLBN) 01 Bengkulu City in 2022. Fourteen students participated as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles & Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Result: The findings revealed that career guidance at the SMALB level in SLBN 01 Bengkulu City was conducted using an individualized approach tailored to each student's needs. The demonstration method was predominantly applied, and the overall guidance process was instructive in nature, emphasizing practical skills and one-on-one instruction to facilitate learning and development. Conclusion: Career guidance at SLBN 01 Bengkulu City emphasizes inclusive, personalized support to empower students with disabilities in pursuing careers that match their abilities and interests. Contribution: his study enriches limited research on career guidance for students with disabilities in Indonesia, highlighting the value of individualized approaches and offering insights for improving inclusive education policies and practices.

Abstract

Anak-anak yang tinggal di panti asuhan menghadapi berbagai tantangan psikososial yang dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan emosional dan ketangguhan mereka. Kurangnya dukungan emosional dan keterbatasan akses terhadap layanan psikologis sering kali menyebabkan mereka mengalami kesulitan dalam mengelola emosi dan menghadapi tekanan hidup. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan intervensi yang efektif untuk membantu mereka mengembangkan ketangguhan (resilience). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ketangguhan anak panti melalui bimbingan kelompok dengan pendekatan seni kreatif dalam konseling. Metode yang digunakan mengacu pada tahapan bimbingan kelompok menurut Prayitno, yaitu tahap pembentukan, peralihan, kegiatan, dan pengakhiran. Sesi bimbingan kelompok melibatkan berbagai aktivitas seni visual, seperti menggambar jembatan kehidupan, membuat kolase mimpi, dan menggambar pelangi sebagai refleksi diri. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak mengalami peningkatan dalam ekspresi emosi, kepercayaan diri, keterampilan sosial, dan kemampuan mengatasi masalah. Pendekatan seni kreatif terbukti menjadi alat efektif dalam konseling untuk memperkuat ketangguhan psikologis anak panti. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan ini direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara berkelanjutan dalam program bimbingan dan konseling di panti asuhan.

Abstract

The findings of the study show that sexual behavior in children, judging from the characteristics of perpetrators and victims, tends to be carried out by perpetrators or vulnerable victims for all ages, education has a tendency to have the potential for all starting from kindergarten-university, economic conditions of both perpetrators and victims, trends in the conditions of the lower middle economic class, working conditions of parents, traders, laborers, self-employed and gardeners, Triggering factors of the perpetrator, exposure to pornography since elementary school, the influence of friends, and relationships that are not harmonious with partners. Meanwhile, the victim tends to be persuaded by people who have emotional closeness, the persuasion of a boyfriend, and the existence of a power relationship. Meanwhile, the location of the incident, everything has the potential to happen. Still, the tendency of the location that has become prevalent is, places far from supervision, quiet, in playgrounds, in the homes of victims or perpetrators, public spaces, and there are even some cases in quiet places of worship. Based on the results of these findings, it is recommended to protect children from sexual violence, the collaboration of all parties is needed. Governments, educational institutions, and communities must increase surveillance, provide child-friendly facilities, and provide education about self-protection. Parents, religious institutions, and law enforcement are expected to strengthen supervision, emotional relationships, and law enforcement to create a safe environment for children.
