Abstract

Sulaman terawang di Nagari Panampuang merupakan sulaman yang dikembangkan turun temurun. Sulaman terawang didaerah ini diwadahi oleh usaha Pinjaik Patah Kecamatan Ampek Angkek. Keunikan sulaman salah satunya pada bentuk jarum tangan dimana jarum sengaja dipatahkan dengan ukuran kira-kira 2cm agar memudahkan dalam proses menyulam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sulaman terawang di Nagari Panampuang ditinjau dari bentuk motif, alat dan bahan serta teknik pembuatan sulaman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data terdiri atas data primer dan data sekunder dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalis dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk motif sulaman terawang pada usaha Pinjaik Patah berupa motif naturalis dan geometris berupa flora dan fauna dan motif geometris berupa motif segi empat, segitiga, lingkaran dan prisma. Sulaman terawang yang ada pada usaha Pinjaik Patah Kecamatan Ampek Angkek Kabupaten Agam dikenal dengan nama sulaman terawang villet, terawang kasiak, terawang banduang, terawang pusek, dan terawang bungo lado. Alat dan bahan yang digunakan yaitu pemidangan, jarum sulam, benang jahit dan benang sulam, serta gunting. Teknik pembuatan sulaman terawang yaitu dimulai dengan penentuan letak motif, menentukan ukuran motif, mencabut benang, mengikat benang sesuai motif dan dilanjutkan dengan mengisi sesuai bentuk motif.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the use of the problem based learning model with collaborative games to improve students' critical thinking skills, effectiveness and learning outcomes in introductory business courses. This type of research is classroom action research. The population in this study was 16 economic education study program students taking introductory business courses. By using a saturated sampling technique, the sample for this research is 16 students from the class of 2023. The analysis techniques used in this research are descriptive analysis The results of this research show that using the problem based learning model with the help of games has improved students' critical thinking skills. From the beginning students just sat listening to their friends discussing and only gave a little feedback, when it was replaced with the problem based learning model and collaborated with games students were more willing to express his opinion. Apart from critical thinking, students' activity has also increased, this can be seen from the way they express ideas, they try to compete to find out and get answers to problems and argue with each other. From the other side, student learning outcomes have also increased from pre-cycle with an average of 67.81 to 75.84 in cycle I and 81.30 in cycle II. So it can be concluded that the problem based learning model can improve critical thinking skills, student creativity and student learning outcomes.Keywords: Problem based learning model, critical thinking skills, activeness and learning outcomes, students

Abstract

Eye diseases, particularly cataracts, are the leading cause of blindness worldwide. This community service program by the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University, was conducted at the Pangkalan Public Health Center, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, by empowering PELITA (Posyandu) cadres in early detection of cataracts. Methods included counseling, training, and eye examination simulations for 40 cadres, followed by community screening using visual acuity and anterior segment examinations. Evaluation was carried out with pre- and post-tests, satisfaction surveys, and follow-up on patients referred for surgery. The average cadre score improved from 68 (pre-test) to 74.5 (post-test), indicating increased knowledge. A total of 71 patients were screened, including 40 cataract and 8 pterygium cases; 26 cataract and 4 pterygium patients subsequently underwent surgery. Cadres reported high satisfaction with the training and expressed readiness to continue participation. This program demonstrates that cadre training is effective in improving early detection of cataracts and other visual impairments, and provides a foundation for establishing a Vision Center in Lima Puluh Kota.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 1 Nan Sabaris, Padang Pariaman Regency. This is caused by low literacy interest and low student participation in the learning process. This study aims to determine the extent of influence of literacy interest and student participation in learning on student learning outcomes in economics for class X at SMAN 1 Nan Sabaris, Padang Pariaman Regency. This research is a correlational study. The population of this study was all 287 students of class X of SMAN 1 Nan Sabaris, Padang Pariaman Regency. The sampling technique used stratified proportional random sampling, totaling 167 students. The research instrument was a questionnaire measured using a Likert scale. The data analysis techniques used were prerequisite analysis and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate a positive and significant influence of literacy interest (X1) and student participation level in learning (X2) on economics learning outcomes (Y), with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 and a calculated t-value of 7.377 >1.667 (t-table). Literacy interest and student participation level in learning have a coefficient (b1) of 0.038. This means that every 1% change in literacy interest will increase literacy interest by 3.8%. Furthermore, the coefficient (b2) is 0.058. This means that every 1% change in student participation level in learning will increase student participation level by 5.8%. The results of multiple regression testing indicate that the coefficient of determination (R2) of 30.3% of learning outcomes is influenced by literacy interest and student participation level in learning, while the remaining 69.7% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
