Abstract

Breakfast is useful to meet the energy needs of the body, especially the brain requires nutrition in improving the ability to concentrate in learning. This study aims to analyze the relationship between breakfast habits and the concentration of learning in students at Klabat University. This type of research is an analytic survey through a cross sectional approach which was conducted on 177 general English 1 class students who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The questionnaire was used to obtain data on breakfast habits and concentration of learning. Analysis of the relationship between variables using the Spearman Correlation test. The results showed that the dominant students rarely had breakfast (39%) and high learning concentration (56.5%). There was a very weak but significant relationship between breakfast habits with the level of student learning concentration (r = 0.162 and p = 0.031). Students awareness about the importance of breakfast needs to be increased through socialization in the classroom and outside the classroom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan kebiasaan sarapan dengan konsentrasi belajar pada mahasiswa di Universitas Klabat. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan survei analitik melalui pendekatan cross sectional yang dilakukan pada 177 mahasiswa kelas general english 1 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kuesioner digunakan untuk memperoleh data kebiasaan sarapan dan konsentrasi belajar. Analisis hubungan antar variabel menggunakan uji Korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dominan mahasiswa jarang sarapan (39%) dan konsentrasi belajar tinggi (56,5%). Terdapat hubungan yang sangat lemah namun bermakna antara kebiasaan sarapan dengan tingkat konsentrasi belajar mahasiswa (r = 0,162 dan p = 0,031). Kesadaran mahasiswa tentang pentingnya sarapan perlu ditingkatkan melalui sosialisasi di kelas maupun di luar kelas. Kata kunci: kebiasaan sarapan, konsentrasi belajar, mahasiswa

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact in various fields, especially in the world of education. The transformation of face-to-face learning activities to online certainly has consequences for student learning outcomes. This study analyzes the learning achievement of nursing students at the professional stage through a comparative GPA test in the semester before and during the pandemic. The research data were collected through a total sampling technique of 233 students' GPA at a private university in North Sulawesi. Data analysis for the comparative test used Mann Whitney non-parametric statistics because it did not meet the feasibility of the normality assumption. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the academic achievement of nursing professional students in the semester before pandemic (average GPA 3.20 with a standard deviation of 0.24) and during the COVID-19 (average GPA 3.55 with a standard deviation of 0.57) with a significant value of 0.000 (p value <0.05). The pandemic situation does not always have a negative impact on the learning process, a good concept of free learning through the application of technology in the learning process can also have a positive impact on students being free to study independently, even though the pandemic situation demands online learning activities. Institutions as education providers are expected to be able to develop a learning management system both face-to-face and online by increasing adequate facilities and resources in an effort to improve the quality of learning outcomes. KEYWORDS: Achievement Index, Nurse Profession Student, COVID-19 Pandemic Pandemi COVID-19 secara signifikan mempunyai dampak di berbagai bidang, terlebih khusus pada dunia pendidikan. Transformasi aktivitas pembelajaran tatap muka menjadi daring tentunya mempunyai konsekuensi terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menganalisis prestasi belajar mahasiswa profesi ners melalui uji komparatif IPK pada semester sebelum dan saat pandemi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui teknik total sampling sebanyak 233 IPK maahasiswa pada salah satu perguruan tinggi swasta di Sulawesi Utara. Analisis data untuk uji komparatif menggunakan statistik non parametrik Mann Whitney karena tidak memenuhi kelayakan asumsi normalitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara prestasi belajar mahasiswa profesi ners pada semester sebelum pandemi (rata-rata IPK 3,20 dengan standar deviasi 0,24) dan saat pandemi COVID-19 (rata-rata IPK 3,55 dengan standar deviasi 0,57) dengan nilai signifikan 0,000 (p value < 0,05). Situasi pandemi tidak selalu berdampak negatif terhadap proses pembelajaran, konsep merdeka belajar yang baik melalui penerapan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran dapat memberikan dampak yang positif juga terhadap para mahasiswa dalam bebas belajar secara mandiri, meskipun situasi pandemi menuntut kegiatan pembelajaran secara daring. Institusi sebagai penyelenggara pendidikan diharapkan mampu mengembangkan sistem manajemen pembelajaran baik tatap muka maupun daring dengan meningkatkan fasilitas dan sumber daya yang memadai dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas hasil pembelajaran. Abstract

Abstract A person's need for the internet depends a lot on the interests, interests, and personality of each individual such as interest in online games. Playing online games tends to make players linger in front of gadgets so that they forget basic needs such as sleep. This study aims to determine the relationship between online game addiction and sleep quality in high school students. Quantitative method is used with descriptive correlation design through cross-sectional approach. The research variable data was collected using a questionnaire that was filled out by the selected respondents through a total sampling technique with a sample size of 58 students. Data were analyzed using non-parametric Spearman Rank statistics. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between addiction to playing online games and students' sleep quality (p-value 0.002 <0.05) with moderate strength and positive direction (r = 0.401). The more students are addicted to playing online games, the worse the quality of sleep experienced, therefore it is expected that students can manage their time as well as possible so that the need for good quality sleep is not disturbed, because good sleep quality can support daily activities. Abstrak Kebutuhan seseorang terhadap internet banyak bergantung pada kepentingan, minat, dan kepribadian setiap individu seperti ketertarikan pada game online. Bermain game online cenderung membuat pemainnya untuk berlama-lama di depan gadget sehingga melupakan kebutuhan dasar seperti tidur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecanduan game online dan kualitas tidur pada siswa sekolah menengah atas. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dengan desain deskriptif korelasi melalui pendekatan cross-sectional. Data variabel penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner yang disisi oleh responden terpilih melalui teknik total sampling dengan besar sampel 58 siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik non-parametrik Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kecanduan bermain game online dan kualitas tidur siswa (p-value 0,002<0,05) dengan kekuatan hubungan sedang dan arah yang positif (r=0,401). Semakin siswa kecanduan bermain game online maka semakin buruk kualitas tidur yang dialami, oleh karena itu diharapkan siswa dapat mengatur waktu dengan sebaik mungkin sehingga kebutuhan tidur dengan kualitas yang baik dak terganggu, karena kualitas tidur yang baik dapat mendukung aktifitas sehari-hari. Abstract

Abstract Low back pain (LBP) is a common world health problem that can cause activities to be limited due to negative impacts received by the body, especially the lumbar vertebrae. This study aims to determine the relationship between work posture and age with the incidence of LBP in farmers. The research method used an analytical observational research design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a sample size of 80 respondents. The data collection process used the NPB questionnaire and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). The results showed a non-significant relationship between the work position and the incidence of low back pain in farmers (p>0.05) but there was a significant relationship in a positive direction between age and the incidence of low back pain in farmers (p<0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.548. Farmers are expected to maintain an ergonomic work posture and as much as possible change positions or stretch while working in an effort to reduce the risk of low back pain. It is necessary to make an application or system through software to overcome or complete the limitations in REBA measurements which are currently only manually so that the recorded data is not only using digital photos but maybe through video recordings and analyzed automatically in the system computerized to measure angles and evaluate them automatically real-time. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a very significant impact on the world of education. The learning process is required to be carried out online because of restrictions on activities and community activities in an effort to prevent transmission and infection of the corona virus. This study aims to analyze the relationship between student perceptions of online learning and learning outcomes. The quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach was carried out by researchers and used a total sampling technique to collect data from respondents. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using Spearman Rank. The results of the study showed that perceptions of online learning by nursing students were dominant in the negative category, while student learning outcomes were in the good category. There is no significant relationship between perceptions of online learning and student learning outcomes. It is hoped that educational institutions will continue to maintain quality online learning facilities in supporting the achievement of good learning outcomes. Future research can explore other factors that influence the learning outcomes of nursing students who do online learning Abstrak Pandemi COVID-19 memberikan dampak yang sangat signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan. Proses pembelajaran dituntut harus dilakukan secara daring karena pembatasan kegiatan dan aktifitas masyarakat dalam upaya mencegah penularan dan infeksi virus corona. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan persepsi mahasiswa tentang pembelajaran daring dnegan hasil belajar. Metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional dilakukan peneliti dan menggunakan teknik total sampling dalam mengumpulkan data dari responden. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi pembelajaran daring mahasiswa keperawatan dominan dalam kategoiri negatif sedangkan hasil belajar mahasiswa dalam kategori baik. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara persepsi pembelajaran daring dengan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Diharapkan institusi pendidikan tetap mempertahankan fasilitas pembelajaran daring yang berkualitas dalam menunjang capaian hasil belajar yang baik. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat mengeksplorasi faktor-faktor lain yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar mahasiswa keperawatan yang melakukan pembelajaran secara daring. Abstract

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is a new infectious disease caused by a type of coronavirus. The high number of positive COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has created a negative stigma against people who are exposed to it, not even positive patients who get negative stigma. Knowledge is the community's way of understanding COVID-19 and knowing how dangerous the disease is by assessing every aspect of prevention and transmission by knowing and understanding the COVID-19 disease. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and stigma in society about COVID-19, so that efforts to prevent the occurrence of social stigma related to COVID-19 that are sustainable in society can be carried out. The research method uses a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 170 respondents. The results showed that the public's knowledge about COVID-19 consisted of 88 people (51.8%) of whom the majority had sufficient knowledge. Meanwhile, community stigma about COVID-19 was found 122 people (71.8%) did not have stigma. The results of the correlation test found that the p-value was 0.441 > 0.05, meaning that there was no significant relationship between knowledge and public stigma about COVID-19. It is not enough just to know about COVID-19 to minimize stigma in the community, other factors need to be investigated.

Abstract

The demands of final assignments often constitute an academic burden that is considered difficult by most students, making it a big challenge to complete the final assignment. There are so many factors that can influence a student's success in completing their final assignment. This research aims to explore information related to the problems faced by final-year nursing students in completing their theses. A quantitative design with a descriptive approach was carried out in carrying out this research involving 200 student respondents from a private university in North Sulawesi. The instrument used by researchers in collecting data was a questionnaire with online open questions. The data was analyzed using a frequency distribution model using statistical tools on a computer. Based on the perceptions and experiences of respondents in the questionnaire answers, the results of this research found several dominant problems faced by students both internally and externally, namely related to feeling lazy and lack of motivation, busyness with the demands of other courses, lack of support from friends and a conducive environment, poor understanding. still lacking in terms of research methods and data analysis, as well as the consul's busy schedule and schedule not being compatible with the supervisor's lecturer. It is important for students to develop strategies that suit their needs, increase motivation, develop necessary academic skills, or plan their time more efficiently. Apart from that, educational institutions can also provide greater support in the form of academic guidance, access to resources, or support programs to help students overcome the challenges they face regarding completing their final assignments. Tuntutan tugas akhir seringkali menjadi beban akademik yang dianggap sulit oleh sebagian besar mahasiswa sehingga menjadi tantangan yang besar dalam menyelesaikan tugas akhir. Begitu banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan tugas akhir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali informasi terkait masalah-masalah yang dihadapi oleh para mahasiswa keperawatan tingkat akhir dalam menyelesaikan skripsi. Desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif telah dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan penelitian ini yang melibatkan 200 responden mahasiswa dari salah satu universitas swasta di Sulawesi Utara. Instrument yang digunakan peneliti dalam pengumpulkan data adalah kiuesioner dengan pertanyaan terbuka secara daring. Data dianalisis dengan model distribusi frekuensi menggunakan perangkat satistik dalam computer. Berdasarkan persepsi dan pengalaman responden dalam jawaban kuesioner, hasil penelitian ini menemukan beberapa masalah dominan yang dihadapi mahasiswa baik secara internal maupun eksternal, yaitu terkait rasa malas dan kurang motivasi, kesibukan dengan tuntutan mata kuliah lainnya, kurangnya dukungan teman dan lingkungan yang kondusif, pemahaman yang masih kurang dalam hal metode dan analisis data penelitian, serta kesibukan dan jadwal konsul yang tidak sesuai dengan dosen pembimbing. Penting bagi mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan strategi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan, meningkatkan motivasi, mengembangkan keterampilan akademik yang diperlukan, atau merencanakan waktu dengan lebih efisien. Selain itu, institusi pendidikan juga dapat memberikan dukungan yang lebih besar dalam bentuk bimbingan akademik, akses terhadap sumber daya, atau program-program pendukung untuk membantu mahasiswa mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi terkait penyelesaian tugas akhir.

Abstract

Depression is a significant mental health problem among students, including nursing students. Nursing students face high academic pressure, the demands of clinical practice, and emotional burdens that can increase the risk of depression. This study aims to identify the level of depression in new students majoring in nursing as a first step to support early detection. The research used a quantitative descriptive design with total sampling technique. The number of samples involved in this research were 199 new students in one of the nursing study programs in North Sulawesi. Data were collected using the PHQ-9 and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to explain the distribution of depression levels of new students majoring in nursing. The results of the analysis provide an overview of the prevalence of depression and the level of severity experienced by students. Early detection of depression in nursing students is an important step in maintaining mental health. It is hoped that this research can contribute to increasing attention to mental health problems in the academic environment, especially among nursing students. This research has the potential to influence the policies of educational institutions in providing appropriate resources and support for nursing students to overcome the challenges faced during their education. ABSTRAKDepresi merupakan masalah kesehatan mental yang signifikan di kalangan mahasiswa, termasuk mahasiswa jurusan keperawatan. Mahasiswa keperawatan menghadapi tekanan akademis yang tinggi, tuntutan praktik klinis, serta beban emosional yang dapat meningkatkan risiko depresi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat depresi pada mahasiswa baru jurusan keperawatan sebagai langkah awal untuk mendukung deteksi dini. Penelitian menggunakan desain deskriptif jenis kuantitatif dengan teknik total sampling. Jumlah sampel yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah 199 mahasiswa baru di salah satu program studi keperawatan di Sulawesi Utara. Data dikumpulkan mengguanan PHQ-9 dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif untuk menjelaskan distribusi tingkat depresi mahasiswa baru jurusan keperawatan. Hasil analisis memberikan gambaran tentang prevalensi depresi dan tingkat keparahan yag dialamai mahasiswa. Deteksi dini depresi pada mahasiswa keperawatan sebagai langkah penting dalam menjaga kesehatan mental. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam peningkatan perhatian terhadap masalah kesehatan mental di lingkungan akademik, khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa jurusan keperawatan. Penelitian ini memiliki potensi untuk mempengaruhi kebijakan institusi pendidikan dalam menyediakan sumber daya dan dukungan yang tepat bagi mahasiswa keperawatan agar dapat mengatasi tantangan yang dihadapi selama masa pendidikan.

Abstract

Mental health is very crucial in achieving a comprehensive state of health, even though this has not received priority in most developing countries compared to infectious diseases, so the important role of education and promotion of mental health is something that is really needed in public health services. The speaker uses lecture and open discussion methods in health seminar sessions through questions and answers. The presenter conducted a pre-test and post-test on the participants to determine the impact of the seminar given. The main purpose of the test is to evaluate changes in understanding related to the topics that will be discussed during the seminar session. Questions are provided via the Googleform platform. Based on the evaluation results in this activity, it can be concluded that there was an increase in participants' understanding or knowledge about how to maintain a healthy mind after being given material presentation and questions and answers, most dominantly in the aspect of positive thinking (from 85.42% to 100%), laughing for a moment/humor (from 71.88% to 100%), and wheeling and meditation (from 81.25% to 100%). This proves the importance of health-related education and promotion that needs to be carried out among the public and youth communities in an effort to increase knowledge with the aim of reducing the risk or negative impact of unhealthy thoughts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the motivation to learn English among nursing students, especially in facing global competition. This study uses a quantitative-descriptive approach with 95 students selected purposively. Motivation to learn English is measured through two main aspects, namely integrative motivation and instrumental motivation. The results of the study indicate that instrumental motivation such as the desire to support a career and understanding popular culture content, are the main drivers for students in learning English. In addition, integrative motivation such as the desire to understand the culture of English-speaking countries and interact with native speakers, also has a significant role. Educational institutions are expected to develop English learning programs that are more applicable, oriented to the world of work, and based on the global needs of students. Further research is recommended to conduct an in-depth analysis of the factors that influence motivation, as well as a longitudinal approach to track changes in motivation along with the education process.
