Abstract

Indonesia has released its pledge on reducing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Mitigation measures include increasing the use of renewable energy. Solar roofs are one potential mitigation measure to meet GHG emission reduction and renewable energy targets. As more attention is being focused on developing this renewable energy resource globally, the technical and economic assessment of this resource is critical to ascertain its feasibility. In this study, a technological and economic analysis of solar roof tops is presented. The analysis was carried out based on solar irradiation in the city of Medan, Indonesia. Solar irradiation over several days was measured. The measured data and the solar photovoltaic module panels available in the Indonesian market are used to carry out the technical analysis. Based on the technical analysis and economic analysis carried out, the economic analysis of the results of the visualization of the power produced by the PV system which was carried out for 1 year resulted in a total value of electricity of IDR 3,672,895 for the city of Medan. It is expected to provide the necessary information to build cities with low emissions. Keywords: Solar Roof, Photovoltaics, Technoeconomics

Abstract

Appropriate technology is technology that is right on target to be used and developed by the community. The development of technology aims to ease human work. The Indonesian state, with the majority of its population working as farmers, really needs appropriate technological innovation to increase agricultural productivity. In this case, the author highlights the low productivity of peanut farmers in Indonesia. On the other hand, the level of peanut demand is increasing from year to year, but consumer demand cannot be met due to low domestic peanut production. Therefore, this study aims to determine the power and bearing maintenance on peanut shell peeling machines using an electric motor, which uses a Tachometer measuring instrument and is carried out at the Production Laboratory of HKBP Nommensen University Medan located at JL. Sutomo No. 4 Medan. The peanut shell peeling machine is made horizontally with 1 shaft and 40 peeling rods transmitted by a V-belt and pulley using an electric motor that functions to peel peanuts to separate the seeds from the shell. By designing and designing a peanut shell peeling machine, the bearing life used in the peanut peeler machine is 3440.78 and 909.86 hours at a rotation speed of 1382 rpm and 58623.94 and 20877.55 hours at a rotation speed of 795.7 rpm. The faster the engine speed, the enumeration load received by the bearing will be lighter, the slower the engine speed, the heavier the enumeration load received by the bearing. The production capacity that can be produced by this peanut shell peeling machine is 60 kg / hour with a peeling force of 51,012 and AC motor power of 1 Hp with a rotation of 2930 rpm.

Abstract

Wheel loader is a tool that facilitates work by using hydraulic energy. Wheel loader testing is carried out by looking for noise data arising in the combustion chamber. There are several stages that must be done, namely the first step is to prepare a sound level meter as a noise detection device for heavy equipment, wheel loader, then take measurements with several variations in the distance between the combustion chamber and the sound level meter. In the next step we can find out the noise level read at the sound level meter with ideal, medium, and maximum rotation on the WA-350 wheel loader. So that the Noise Threshold Value according to Permenaker No. per-51 / MEN / 1999, ACGIH, 2008 and SNI 16-7063-2004 is 85 dB. So the noise produced by the Wheel Loader above the NAB Permenaker 104.7dB can cause tingling, unwell, hearing saturation, stomach pain, and circulatory problems. It is recommended that workers are required to use earmuffs or ear muffs.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini penulis menganalisis pengaruh arah panel surya terhadap arus, tegangan, dan intensitas cahaya matahari di Kalimantan Timur dengan sudut kemiringan 25°. Penelitian ini melibatkan tiga variabel arah panel surya: timur, utara, dan barat. Data yang diperoleh melalui pengukuran langsung intensitas cahaya matahari, arus, dan tegangan yang dihasilkan oleh panel surya pada berbagai waktu dalam sehari. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa orientasi panel surya memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap efisiensi konversi energi surya. Pada arah timur dan barat menghasilkan arus dan tegangan yang lebih tinggi pada pagi dan siang hari, sedangkan dengan arah utara menghasilkan performa yang lebih stabil sepanjang hari. Temuan ini dapat menjadi referensi penting bagi pengoptimalan pemasangan panel surya di wilayah tropis seperti Kalimantan Timur.

Abstract

Wheel loader is a tool that facilitates the work of moving materials from one place to another using hydraulic energy. Wheel loader machine testing is carried out by looking for vibration data arising in the engine block. There are several stages that must be done, the first step is preparation of a Handheld Vibrometer as a vibration detection device. Next, examine the vibration level read on the Handheld Vibrometer with ideal, medium, and maximum rotation. Based on the ISO 2372 standard, vibration response results are obtained where the power capacity of a diesel motor is 350 kW where the highest speed is 62.7 mm / s with a horizontal direction at 90 seconds, categorized in Zone D in red, vibration from the engine is within dangerous limits and can be damaged at any time.

Abstract

The existence of a limited volume of machine room and coupled with the existence of various kinds of machinery in it, both main drive machinery such as the main motor and other supporting machinery such as electric motors, compressors, pumps and so on, all of which are sources of noise, will cause high noise noise. Where heavy equipment is a tool used to simplify the work process so that it becomes faster, easier and the results are in accordance with expectations and one example is the Whell Loader WA-360 heavy machine. Therefore, research is needed to measure the level of noise produced by the Whell Loader WA-360 heavy equipment engine to operator comfort. According to NAB According to Kepmenaker No. per-51/MEN/1999,2008 and SNI 16-7063-2004, the noise level that results in hearing damage of 90 dB for workers who are working for 8 hours per day. That the threshold value for the noise of the combustion chamber of the Wheel Loader WA-360 heavy equipment engine with a bucket capacity of 3.4 and 5 tons produces a noise level of 106.5 dB with a hearing scale and it is recommended that the operator of the Whell Loader heavy equipment use Earphones while doing work.

Abstract

Selama ini proses pencacahan rumput dilakukan secara manual, memerlukan waktu lama, tenaga besar, dan menghasilkan kualitas cacahan yang kurang seragam. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai penggunaan mesin pencacah rumput pakan ternak multifungsi dengan sistem 2 input dan 1 output. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, praktik demonstrasi langsung, pelatihan operasional, pendampingan teknik perawatan, serta penyampaian prosedur keselamatan kerja. Peserta diberikan pemahaman mengenai fungsi komponen mesin, cara pengoperasian yang benar, serta langkah-langkah perawatan untuk menjaga kinerja dan keawetan mesin. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta, ditunjukkan melalui kemampuan mengoperasikan mesin secara mandiri, menerapkan teknik perawatan, dan memahami manfaat efisiensi waktu, tenaga, serta peningkatan kualitas cacahan rumput menjadi lebih halus dan seragam. Mesin ini dinilai mampu mempercepat proses penyediaan pakan, meningkatkan produktivitas peternak, serta mendorong adopsi teknologi tepat guna di lingkungan pedesaan. Dengan demikian, kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat, mendukung pengembangan sektor peternakan, dan memperkuat kemandirian ekonomi lokal di Desa Amborgang.
