Abstract

One effort to improve children's health and nutrition is to provide the best food for ages under two years (Baduta). If babies and children aged 6-24 months do not get enough nutrition from MP-ASI, it will cause disruption of growth and malnutrition. Medan Sunggal Health Center is one of the health centers in the fostered village of F.Kep USU. Based on the results of the toddler nutrition study conducted previously, there were still some nutritional problems, especially in the age group of Baduta. The main cause is the limited knowledge of mothers about Baduta nutrition and the skills of mothers in preparing food to meet nutritional needs with locally available food. Posyandu cadres who have been actively involved are still weak in providing breastfeeding and MP-ASI education. Even though Posyandu cadres are very potential their role as agents of change. Community service activities counseling for local food-based WHO MP-ASI for Posyandu cadres and baduta’ mothers was held on August 24, 2018, with the number of counseling participants thirty-five people. The end result is an increase in participants' knowledge and skills to shape good nutritional behavior in the family.

Abstract

COVID-19 is a type of virus that attacks the respiratory system that can affect anyone from infants to children to adults, including pregnant women and nursing mothers. This disease can spread rapidly through droplets that come out when the patient sneezes or coughs. Symptoms of this disease are often considered normal by the community, so that it has a risk of transmission and can spread to other people, especially children. Limited knowledge and ability in prevention needs to be improved by providing counseling and training to housewives. Actions taken by implementing efforts to maintain family health through increasing knowledge and knowing prevention measures for transmission to children. Minimizing the spread of disease requires continuous action, this requires the role of housewives as executors of health care for family members. Increasing the knowledge and skills of housewives is needed to help people overcome their health problems. Health problems in the community often occur, among others, due to inadequate knowledge of disease prevention, crowded environment, inadequate socio-economic conditions. Abstract

Along the decline COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, the implementation of Limited Face-to-face Learning (PTM) in education units was again carried out by observing the implementation of strict health protocols by education units. In the implementation, various problems were found, such as the lack of awareness of students in implementing health protocols. The solutions offered by the Community Service team to support preventing the spread of COVID-19 and improving healthy lifestyles include developing a health protocol ambassador program through a peer teaching program with the Montessori method. This activity was carried on August 8, 2022 with assistance and monitoring carried out until August 22, 2022 at SD Muhammadiyah 01 Medan with a total sample of 60 people. The results showed an increase before and after the activity, before the activity was carried out as many as 31 (51.7%) respondents were at a moderate level of knowledge, 37 (61.7%) positive attitudes and 32 (53.3%) good behavior respondents. After the activities were carried out, 47 (78.3%) respondents had high knowledge, 60 (100%) positive attitudes and 46 (76.7%) good behavior. Therefore, this method is effective in increasing the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of students' awareness about health protocols and prevention of COVID-19 transmission.

Abstract

The high morbidity and mortality rate of the community is due to lack of knowledge in detecting health status and inability to make decisions to overcome health problems, causing delays in treatment. Providing education in the form of simulations and applying patents of a method of increasing independence for detecting health status and following up on appropriate treatment and patents of WEB site-based self-care methods is the application of information and communication technology in nursing services which is one solution to overcome this because it can optimize individual independence so that distance, time, place, and cost are not an obstacle to getting nursing services and achieving SDGs 3; ensuring a healthy life and improving the welfare of the population. Community service uses interview methods, health promotion about upper respiratory tract infections, hypertension, infections, rheumatism, dental caries, skin infections, refractive errors, pulmonary tuberculosis, pulp and pariapical tissue diseases and cataracts. Followed by simulations, assistance to all participants in using the WEB https://ariganursingselfcare.com/, observation and monitoring of the application of WEB to increase independence in detecting health status and following up on treatment. Community service was carried out from August to October 2023 in the community in the Medan Sunggal Health Center working area with a total of 173 people. The results showed 113 (65%) respondents were independent in detecting health status and following up on treatment, but there were still 60 (35%) respondents who needed continuous assistance in applying the WEB.
