Abstract

This study focuses on the changing of orientation and expression among the elites of pesantren in Tasikmalaya in the effort to form a community life that is in accordance with the culture and values of Islamic teachings. To answer the questions, a descriptive-qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach is used in this study. The results of the study show that there are differences in views related to religious relations with the state, especially those which related to the intersection of Islamic Law with the legal system that applies among pesantren in Tasikmalaya. The first view states that to find solutions to various problems of society and in forming an Islamic society requires the involvement of the State; The second view states that to form an Islamic society does not need to involve the state. This view is more supportive of the implementation of religious ethics or morals with a cultural approach. The third view is the view which is a compromise between the two groups in the making of regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal debate over the formulation of local regulation. Particularly, it seeks to know political dynamics at the grassroot level in policy-making. Theoretical assumption mentions that policy-making is not only a process of government technocracy, but it can also a debate over current discourse among citizens. The qualitative study discloses that the political debate over this discourse occurs due to contradictory perspectives on the aspirations of Shari’a law as a part of formal institutions in the state. The first camp argued that Islam should exist in the public as an effort to build an ideal society. Islam must be included as part of the state, at least in local regulation. In contrast, the second camp argued that in building the ideal society, state does not need to include Islam as part of the state in the regulation.

Abstract

Peningkatan prevalensi penyakit tidak menular (PTM) di Indonesia, seperti hipertensi, diabetes melitus, gagal ginjal kronik, dan stroke, menunjukkan kebutuhan mendesak untuk intervensi yang efektif. Berdasarkan data Riskesdas 2018 dan laporan Kementerian Kesehatan RI, angka kejadian PTM terus meningkat setiap tahun, menekankan pentingnya pencegahan dan deteksi dini. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat keterampilan komunikasi antar pribadi kader kesehatan di Desa Cipakat dalam pencegahan PTM. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) dengan melibatkan 20 kader kesehatan dalam pelatihan, pendampingan, dan praktik komunikasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan komunikasi kader setelah intervensi, yang dibuktikan dengan hasil uji Wilcoxon yang menunjukkan p-value 0.00013. Pelatihan juga mencakup penggunaan alat kesehatan yang disertai dengan pemberian alat Posbindu PTM KIT. Berdasarkan hasil ini, disarankan untuk mengimplemetasikan ketreampilan komunikasi antar pribadi dalam pelayanan posbindu PTM untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pencegahan PTM di tingkat komunitas.

Abstract

This study investigates the vulnerabilities and the illusion of well-being in platform-based digital work, focusing on drivers from Grab, Maxim, and Gojek in Tasikmalaya City. The urgency of this research arises from the rapid growth of the platform economy in Indonesia, which often overlooks the welfare of its workers. The primary objective of this study is to identify the factors affecting the vulnerability of drivers in achieving true well-being, as well as to analyze how the illusion of well-being is produced and maintained in platform-based work. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study to illustrate the digital work vulnerabilities of Gojek drivers. Data were collected through document studies and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with representatives of drivers in Tasikmalaya City, and then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that online drivers in Tasikmalaya City face various vulnerabilities, such as a lack of social security and uncertain income. Therefore, collaboration between companies, the government, and driver partners is needed to improve their well-being. Proposed solutions include tariff transparency, the development of a social security scheme, and improved communication between the parties involved. In the future, it is hoped that a fairer and more sustainable partnership for the well-being of online drivers in Indonesia can be established.

Abstract

The tourism sector is one of the sectors that can drive the Indonesian economy both nationally and locally, thus tourism development can have a positive impact on the development of the community's economy. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research design that collects primary data through the use of surveys. Questionnaires are used in survey research as a technique for collecting basic data. Meanwhile, data on the main points of the study were collected through research using instruments in the form of surveys, interviews, and observations. Based on the results of the study, it can be explained that through the aspects of product, service and management, the Karaha Bodas tourist attraction is worthy of being developed. From the product aspect, based on the results of the interview, it can be seen that the Karaha Bodas tourist attraction is in the development category and the results of the observation show that Karaha Bodas is included in an area with great product support for tourist attractions, based on the parameters that have been set. In terms of service, the results of the study show that Karaha Bodas is included in class II, which supports being used as a tourist destination. In line with that, in terms of management, the results of the study show that it supports being used as a tourist destination. Tourism management in Karaha Bodas needs to be improved to become a sustainable tourist destination based on the Regulation of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 9 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for Sustainable Tourism Destinations.

Abstract

This study examines the construction of national identity in indigenous peoples in Indonesia. This national identity is a form of social identity or collective identification which describes the attachment of group members to the state expressed with a sense of belonging, love, loyalty, pride, and protection of the group and its homeland. This national identity discourse is often an issue that is vulnerable to being discussed and debated in a society that has its own peculiarities such as indigenous peoples. These indigenous people have cultural identities, value systems and knowledge, living areas, and ways of interacting which are often different from other communities, so that they need different treatment in terms of building their national identity.

Abstract

This article will explain how the role of indigenous women in maintaining traditional identity, including values and traditions. Women in indigenous communities in Indonesia are very interesting to explain, one of which is about the role of women in maintaining traditional identity in their respective customary communities as applies to the indigenous people of Kampung Naga, Tasikmalaya Regency. Although the women of Kampung Naga live in a patriarchal culture, as is the case with the culture of indigenous peoples in West Java in general, Kampung Naga women play an important role in the existence of adat in Kampung Naga. In terms of revitalizing traditional values and behavior patterns, Kampung Naga women carry out their role in educating their offspring to always adhere to customary values, including in terms of the livelihood system, housing system and how to dress. In addition, the women of Kampung Naga also play an important role in every implementation of Hajat Sasih. In terms of revitalizing physical culture, indigenous women continue to carry out their daily lives by remaining obedient in the use of household tools inherited from their ancestors.
