Abstract

This research aims to optimize the application of the imla' method in learning maharah kitabah in class VII of the Nurul Hakim Modern Islamic Boarding School in Medan. Qualitative methods are used by conducting observations and interviews with students and teachers to understand the impacts and challenges of implementing the imla' method. The research results show that the imla' method is able to increase the accuracy of writing letters, introduce new vocabulary, and train students' concentration. However, there are several obstacles such as differences in student abilities, lack of variety in delivery methods, and time constraints that affect the effectiveness of learning. From interviews with teachers, it was found that grouping students based on ability and using varied learning media could help overcome these challenges. Thus, this research recommends the implementation of additional strategies to increase the effectiveness of the imla' method in learning maharah kitabah in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Differentiated based learning is an effective learning process that considers the differences of each student in increasing their potential according to their readiness, interest and learning profile. The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of learning in Arabic language teaching at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Deli Serdang through the Differentiated Based Learning (DBL) approach. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research which involves observation of Arabic language teaching at Madrasah aliyah Negeri 2 Deli Serdang, and responses from teachers and students to the approach. The findings show that Arabic language learning is an important aspect of the educational curriculum in many countries, especially for educational institutions that have an Islamic religious base. In the midst of increasingly advanced educational developments, innovative learning approaches are the main focus for educators to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Arabic language learning. Where teachers are able to adapt learning to students' individual learning styles, needs and interests by improving students' understanding of Arabic by providing variety in teaching and meeting individual learning needs. This research makes an important contribution to the development of Arabic language teaching approaches at the secondary level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the personality of Arabic language teachers and students’ interest in learning Arabic. The research employs a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The population consists of all students at MTs Ira Medan, with a sample of 28 students selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation formula. The results indicate a statistically significant relationship between teacher personality and students’ learning interest, with a significance value of 0.00 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.669, which falls into the strong category (0.61–0.80). This value exceeds the r table (0.374), leading to the conclusion that there is a strong positive relationship between teacher personality (X) and students’ interest in learning (Y), with a contribution of 44.7%. These findings highlight the importance of teacher personality development as a key factor in enhancing students' interest in learning Arabic.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Camtasia studio-based learning video products for Arabic Language Education students, focusing on the stages of learning video design and media feasibility analysis and Camtasia Studio-based learning video materials. This research was conducted to provide alternative learning media that can be prepared by lecturers so that students are not bored and enthusiastic about attending lectures. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model covering 5 stages, namely, (a) analyzing needs so that video products that need to be developed can be found; (b) designing video products as required; (c) conduct testing and development of video products; (d) use video products and product trials and (e) evaluate and assess each step of the activities and video products that have been created by specifications.  This research involves media experts and material experts as well as 30 students who will test the video product. The results of the trial of Camtasia studio-based learning media products averaged 86% and 92% of material expert validation scores so that they got the "feasible/valid" category. The results of product trials (limited product trials) received an average score of 80% and 93% with the category "very valid". So, it can be concluded that Camtasia studio-based learning media is feasible and can be used for lecturers and students of Arabic Language Education.

Abstract

Arabic holds a central role in the world of Islamic education, especially in madrasas, as it is the primary language for understanding the Qur'an, hadith, and classical Islamic literature. However, in practice, many madrasa students face difficulties in understanding Arabic texts, primarily due to limitations in vocabulary and grammatical structure. One potential method to address this issue is the group discussion method, which allows students to brainstorm ideas, clarify meanings, and build a shared understanding of the text being studied. This study aims to analyze the group discussion-based learning method in improving the understanding of Arabic texts among grade X students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Medan. Specifically, this research explores the factors influencing students' understanding of Arabic texts as well as the impact of implementing group discussions in overcoming learning barriers. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of Arabic teachers and grade X students. The results of the study indicate that the application of the group discussion method has a significant impact on improving students' understanding of Arabic texts. Students became more active, motivated, and able to enhance their vocabulary and understanding of Arabic language structure. Prior to the implementation of this method, only about 50% of students understood Arabic texts; however, after its application, this figure increased to 85%. The implications of this study suggest that group discussions are an effective strategy and should be more widely applied in Arabic language learning in madrasas.

Abstract

The Arabic language learning at MAN 4 Medan indicates that some students exhibit a lack of enthusiasm, limited interaction, and ineffective collaboration among students. Additionally, teachers face challenges such as time and resource constraints, which result in low student learning outcomes. This research aims to identify the implementation of the STAD (Student Teams Achievement Divisions) cooperative learning strategy in Arabic language instruction and to evaluate its impact on student learning outcomes. The study involved 30 students from grade tenth of MAN 4 Medan as samples. Research instruments included Pre and Post Tests, observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results show a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with the average post-test score (82.8%) being higher than the pre-test score (53.5%). N-Gain analysis indicates a moderate increase in learning effectiveness (0.6). Thus, the STAD strategy has proven effective in enhancing Arabic language learning outcomes and can serve as an alternative in Arabic language teaching in schools.

Abstract

Writing correct dictation is one of the basic skills in learning Arabic. This study aims to analyze the forms of dictation errors of grade VIII students at the Al-Fauzi Fadillah Amal Galang Tahfidz Qur'an Islamic Boarding School, and to determine the factors causing dictation errors. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, by analyzing the documentation of students' dictation worksheets. Data were collected using documentation, observation and interview methods. The results of the study indicate that dictation errors still often occur, including: errors in writing hijaiyah letters because their sounds are almost the same, errors in the form of writing hijaiyah letters, errors in connecting and separating letters, and errors in writing tanwin. These errors are caused by linguistic factors; namely: There is new vocabulary that has never been heard and practiced in daily activities, lack of student ability regarding how to write correct Arabic, limited ability to distinguish the sounds of hijaiyah letters that are almost the same and lack of practice in writing hijaiyah letters. And non-linguistic factors; namely: Low interest or motivation in learning for students, non-conducive learning atmosphere, insufficient learning time, poor vision and hearing for students when teachers provide learning materials, and imla' learning which is still new to Arabic language learning.

Abstract

ملخص: الهدف من هذا البحث لفهم كيفية تعليم اللغة العربية باستخدام الطريقة الانتقائية وفعاليتها في الصف الثامن في مدرسة المخلصين المتوسطة الإسلامية. تطبيق الطريقة الانتقائية في تعليم اللغة العربية في الصف الثامن في مدرسة المخلصين المتوسطة الإسلامية من خلال الجمع بين طريقة التعليم المختلفة لتحقيق النتائج المثلى . منهجية البحث المستخدمة في هذا البحث هي البحث الكيفي الوصفي الذي يتضمن ملاحظات تعليم اللغة العربية في الصف الثامن، وتحليل فعالية الطريقة الانتقائية، واستجابات المعلم والطلاب لهذا النهج وتوثيقه. وأظهرت النتائج أن المعلم يجمع بين عدة طريقة مثل الطريقة التقليدية، وطريقة المباشرة، وطريقة القواعد، وطريقة السؤال والجواب، وطريقة التقييم. الطريقة الانتقائية تحسين فهم الطلاب للغة العربية من خلال توفير التنوع في التعليم والتلبية احتياجات التعلم الفردية. يقدم هذا البحث مساهمة هامة في تطوير طريقة تعليم اللغة العربية في المرحلة المتوسطة. الكلمات الرئيسية: فعالية، الطريقة الانتقائية، تعليم اللغة العربية. Abstracts: The purpose of this research is to find out how Arabic is taught using eclectic methods in the eighth grade of MTS Al-Mukhlishin. Implementation of eclectic methods and effectiveness in teaching Arabic in the eight grade of MTS Al-Mukhlishin by combining various teaching approaches to achieve optimal results. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research which involves observations of Arabic language teaching in eighth grade, analysis of the effectiveness of eclectic methods, and responses from teachers and students to this approach and documentation. The findings show that teachers combine several methods such as the conventional method, mubasyaroh method, qowa'id method, question and answer method and evaluation method. Eclectic methods can improve students' understanding of Arabic by providing variety in teaching and meeting individual learning needs. This research makes an important contribution to the development of Arabic language teaching methods at the secondary level. Keywords: Effectiveness, Eclectic Method, Arabic Lenguage Teaching Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengajaran bahasa arab menggunakan metode eklektik dan efektivitasnya di kelas VIII MTS Al- Mukhlishin. Implementasi metode eklektik dalam pengajaran bahasa Arab di kelas VIII MTS Al-Mukhlishin dengan menggabungkan berbagai pendekatan pengajaran untuk mencapai hasil yang optimal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang melibatkan observasi terhadap pengajaran bahasa Arab di kelas VIII, analisis terhadap efektivitas metode eklektik, dan tanggapan dari guru dan siswa terhadap pendekatan tersebut dan dokumentasinya. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa guru menggabungkan beberapa metode seperti metode konvensional, metode mubasyaroh, metode qowa’id, metode tanya jawab dan metode evaluasi. Metode eklektik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap bahasa Arab dengan memberikan variasi dalam pengajaran dan memenuhi kebutuhan belajar individu. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting terhadap pengembangan metode pengajaran bahasa Arab di tingkat menengah. Kata kunci: Efektivitas, Metode Eklektik, Pengajaran Bahasa Arab

Abstract

Purpose- This research aims to determine students' responses to the use of picture media and to examine the process of using picture media in learning Arabic, specifically on the topic of mubtada' and khabar, in order to facilitate students’ understanding of the material.  Design/Methodology/Approach- This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during the research period. The data sources include interviews with several eighth-grade students of Al-Ulum Integrated Islamic Junior High School, Medan. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.  Findings- The findings indicate that students responded actively during the learning process using picture media, contributing to the achievement of learning objectives. Students were able to construct correct sentences in accordance with Arabic grammar, particularly in forming mubtada' and khabar structures, and integrating them with ism isyarah. The instructional steps implemented by the teacher using picture media were as follows: the teacher began the lesson with a standard opening, introduced the material using pictures, displayed the images, asked students to guess them, explained the correct Arabic terms related to the images, had students repeat the phrases, and concluded the lesson.  Research Limitations/Implications- This research is limited to examining students' responses during Arabic learning sessions that incorporate picture media and analyzing the instructional stages used in teaching eighth-grade students at Al-Ulum Integrated Islamic Junior High School, Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to highlight the establishment of supporting environment to Arabic learning in some PTKIs (Islamic Higher Education Institutions) in North Sumatera Indonesia. It could be contended that the supporting environment to Arabic learning could enhance the quality of learning the language itself. Concerning some challenges in teaching and learning Arabic as a foreign or second language, one of major strategies which could be applied is to establish the supportive learning environment which could facilitate the process of learning the language becoming more attractive and optimizing. This study is conducted by qualitative approach which the data were obtained from series of observations, interviews, and documentations. The result of this study depicts that there are some key factors which could conform the establishment of supportive environment to the teaching and learning Arabic in those Islamic Institutions and also the level of language understanding which could be endorsed by how established the environment itself.
