Abstract

Lead acetate in the hepatobiliary system may cause peroxidation catalysis of unsaturated fatty acids, reduce nitrogenoxide and increase hydroxyl radical. Lead acetate produces oxidative stress characterized by free radical formation and inhibits lipid peroxidation. Giving antioxidants can neutralize free radicals from the detrimental effects that arise on the process or excess oxidation reactions. The purpose of this research was to find out how the effect of bee propolis on histopathologic images of hepatic mice (Mus musculus) of females exposed to lead acetate [Pb(C2H3O2)2]. The subjects were 25 mice (Mus musculus) mushulus of BALB/C strain with average weight 25-30 gram and 8 weeks old, divided into 5 treatment groups, each consisting of 5 heads per group. The K- group was given a Tween 80 solution at a doses of 0.5 mg/kgBW for 20 consecutive days. The K+ group, which was given only lead acetate at a doses of 10 mg/kgBW orally for 10 days. P1, P2, and P3 were given 10 mg/kgBW lead acetate solution orally for 10 days. The following 10 days were given bee propolis with doses of P1 200 mg/kgBW, P2 400 mg/kgBW, and P3 800 mg/kgBW. On the 21th days the mice were dissected, to observe the extent of the damage. All data were performed using a statistical test with Kruskal Wallis test and if there was a marked difference between treatment groups (p<0.05), then the Mann-Whitney test was followed. The results obtained that bee propolis can repair hepatic cell damage in mice (Mus musculus) of females exposed to lead acetate. Increased dose of bee propolis is ineffective in repairing hepatic cell damage in mice (Mus musculus) of females exposed to lead acetate.

Abstract

The study was conducted to know conception rate and service per conception of Limousin Cross breed and Ongole Cross Breed in Pilangkenceng, Madiun. Data were collected for the periode of Oktober 2016 to February 2017 from inseminators in Pilangkenceng district. The data were taken by primary and secondary. Primary data retrieval were done by direct observation, which includes several variables, where the variables include: the identity of the breeder, feeding and drinking. The secondary data were obtained by recording the farmer's artificial insemination card. All data was analyzed to find a percentage of conception rate (CR) and find number of service per conception (S/C). Then S/C were analyzed with T-test adn CR were analyzed with chi-square test. The results of this research showed that the service per conception's average of limousin cross breed and ongole cross breed is 1,61 and 1,72. The average of conception rate limousin cross breed and ongole cross breed is 53% % and 59 %. The result showed no significant difference (p>0,05) on CR and S/C between limousin cross breed and ongole cross breed. The conclusion of this research showed that service per conception and conception rate of ongole cross breed in Pilengkenceng Madiun is better than limousin cross breed but there's no significant difference (p>0,05).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the use of various estrus detection devices before artificial insemination as measured by pregnancy rate. The researcher used a sample of 60 cows were used in this research which is divided into four groups as a control and treatment groups (Thermopin®, Hauptner and Draminski groups), and each cow was detected for the sign of estrus by three devices that were Thermopin®, Hauptner and Draminski prion when doing an artificial insemination. The cows were observed to 45 days after artificial insemination for observing pregnancy. This research method is the exploration scope to prove the effect of various estrus detection tool against pregnancy rates. The result of ANOVA test, there is the effect of using a various estrus detection devices against pregnancy rates. Samples tested by Draminski with average (1.53±0.51) resulted in a 53,3% pregnancy rate, the samples were tested with Hauptner with average (1.67±0,48) resulted in pregnancy rate 66,7%. Without treatment or control, sample with an average of (1.67±0,48) resulted in a  73,3% pregnancy rate. While samples were tested with Thermopin® with average (2.00±0,00) resulted in a 100% pregnancy rate. In conclusion, Thermopin® the best detection tool than other estrus detection devices.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to know  the effect of Insulin-Like Growth Factor-I (IGFI) derived from pregnant crossbreed mare serum (PMS) on endometrium thickness of mice (Mus musculus). The subject of this research were 35 female mice. The research was arranged by Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatment and five replications. The treatment were P0 = 10 ng/ml of physiological NaCl, P11 = 10 ng/ml of IGF-I PMS, P12 = 20 ng/ml of IGF-I PMS, P13 = 40 ng/ml of IGF-I PMS, P21 = 10 ng/ml of IGF-I recombinant mouse, P22 = 20 ng/ml of IGF-I recombinant mouse, and P23 = 40 ng/ml of IGF-I recombinant mouse. Observed variables include histopatological endometrium thickness of mice. The data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by HSD (Honestly Significant Difference) test. The data was also be analyzed using General Linear Model Univarieted to see the comparison between IGF-I PMS and recombinant mouse. The result showed that the addition of IGF-I PMS did not significantly affect (p>0,05) on endometrium thickness of mice . It showed that did not significantly difference (p>0,05) between the effect of IGF-I PMS and IGF-I recombinant mouse against the endometrium thickness of mice.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out the Growth Hormone (GH) gene profile of the cross breeding between Madura cattle and Limousin cattle (Madrasin). Sampl in the form of cattle blood for this research was obtained from 14 Madrasin cattles in the area of Bangkalan, Madura, East Java. DNA extraction was performed then to provide the result for PCR RFLP, which then indicated that Madrasin cattle's GH gene profile has 432 base pair fragment length and the RFLP result indicated that Madrasin cattle's GH genetic was cut off into 180 base pair, 250 base pair, 300 base pair, and 400 base pair. Moreover, there was no V genetic to be found in GH genetic of Madura cattle.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to observe the Body Condition Score (BCS) and milk production of Friesian Holstein (FH) dairy cattles. 144 of dairy cattles divided into 3 groups based on BCS 1-9 scale. The results showed that Y = 6.62 + 5.54X - 5.78X2. Coefficient of determination (R2) of 20.6 this mean any increase in milk production by 20.6% is affected by BCS. It can be concluded that there is a correlation between Body Condition Score (BCS) and milk production. The higher BCS (BCS 7-8) the lower milk production, while in ideal BCS production (5-6) the production of milk is optimize.
