Abstract

The objective of the research was to study the influence of grass to oil palm frond substitution on the digestibility and fermentability  in vitro gas tehniques.  The research  used arranged in a randomized complete design with 5 treatments and 4 replication.  The treatments that was substitution of the grass to oil palm frond at level : 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% in  ration. The result of the sudy showed that substitution of the grass to oil palm frond  was significantly different (P < 0.05) on the digestibility of dry matter but not significantly different (P > 0.05) on the digestibility of organic matter, acid degreeand gas production.  It could be concluded that the used of grass to oil palm frond substitution at the level   25% had better the digestibility  and fermentability compared to other treatments.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of methanol, ethyl acetate, and hexane for the extraction of cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmanni) (CB) on the contents of the total phenolic, total flavonoid and its 1,1,-diphonyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity. CB samples were ground with grinder machine in one mm sieve and extracted with treatments to determine parameter measured. All CB samples were extracted using different treatments. Parameter measured were total phenolic, total flavonoid and DPPH. CB was ground and extracted by using three treatments, data collected was statistical analysis and followed with Duncant Test, The highest total phenolic content found when CB extracted with methanol with the value of 111.43 mg gallic acids equivalent (GAE)/g DW while the lowest amount detected in hexane with the amount of 57.23 mg GAE/g dry weight (DW). It was significantly different (P<0.05) from those extracted with ethyl acetate and hexane. There was significant (P<0.05) different for the content of flavonoid among all treatment groups. Methanol was the highest solvent and hexane was the lowest with the amount of 286.27 and 64.73 mg rutin equivalent (RE)/g DW respectively. There was significantly different (P<0.05) for scavenging activity among all treatment. Using methanol in extracting CB showed the highest scavenging activity of 69.59 % among all other treatment groups. It could be concluded that Methanol was the best solution in extracting CB

Abstract

Nagari Panti Timur, Panti District, Pasaman Regency, has water resources in the form of natural springs which are the main source of the community's clean water needs. However, various problems such as deforestation, lack of awareness of water conservation, and limited water distribution infrastructure threaten the availability and quality of these water resources. This Community Service activity aims to provide education, training and technical solutions in sustainable spring management. Methods for implementing this activity include identifying problems through surveys and interviews, educating the public regarding water conservation, as well as implementing technical solutions such as building infiltration wells, simple filtration systems, reforesting catchment areas, and building spring water reservoirs. Apart from that, monitoring and evaluation is carried out to ensure program sustainability. The results of the activity showed that the community gained an increased understanding of the importance of water conservation and skills in managing water resources. The infrastructure that has been built is expected to increase the availability and distribution of clean water. The sustainability of this program requires active support from various parties so that the benefits continue to be felt by the community.

Abstract

Recruitment of labor is an important part of running a business. Like in Padang Jaya Restaurant. However, the recruitment process in this MSME still faces various obstacles, such as limited recruitment methods. This study aims to analyze the recruitment strategy implemented at Rumah Makan Padang Jaya and identify the challenges faced. This research method uses a qualitative method with direct interviews with the owner of the restaurant. The results showed that the recruitment process at Rumah Makan Padang Jaya still relies on recommendations from family, friends, and acquaintances, as well as opening job vacancies directly at the business location. Although this method can reduce recruitment costs, the restaurant certainly gets limited candidates. In addition, recruitment is done directly by the owner without a special team, so the process is less systematic. To improve the effectiveness of recruitment, it is recommended that these MSMEs utilize online job search platforms, cooperate with job training institutions, and form a more structured recruitment team.
