Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the joyful learning strategy on the mathematical problem-solving ability of the third-grade students of SDN 001 Teratak on plane geometry. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study were the third-grade students of SDN 001 Teratak, consisting of 20 students in the experimental class and 20 students in the control class. Data collection techniques were carried out through mathematical problem-solving ability tests in the form of pretests and posttests as well as observations during the learning process. The research instrument was a validated test item. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with normality tests and independent sample t-tests assisted by SPSS. The results showed that based on the independent sample t-test, the significance value was smaller than 0.05 (Sig. <0.05), so there was a significant difference in conceptual understanding between students who learned using the joyful learning strategy and students who learned with the CTL method. Thus, the use of joyful learning strategies has a significant effect on increasing students' conceptual understanding compared to CTL learning on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities on flat shape material for class III SDN 001 Teratak.

Abstract

This research was prompted by the low student participation in IPAS (Science, Social Studies, and Arts) learning among fourth-grade students at SD IT Hamalatul Ilmi. The study aimed to increase student learning participation by implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in the fourth-grade classroom at SD IT Hamalatul Ilmi Bangkinang.This was a classroom action research project. The subjects of this study were 12 fourth-grade students from SD IT Hamalatul Ilmi. The research cycle followed the stages of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques included documentation and observation. Data analysis techniques used both qualitative and quantitative methods.The results of this study indicate that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model can enhance student learning participation. This is evidenced by the improvement in student participation scores. In Cycle I, Meeting I, student participation reached 62,91%, with 5 out of 12 students achieving mastery. This increased to 73,33% in Cycle I, Meeting II, with 6 out of 12 students achieving mastery. Further improvement was observed in Cycle II, Meeting I, reaching 78,75%, with 8 out of 12 students achieving mastery. Finally, in Cycle II, Meeting II, participation increased again to 84,68%, with 10 out of 12 students achieving mastery.Therefore, it can be concluded that implementing the Project-Based Learning model can increase student learning participation at SD IT Hamalatul Ilmi.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 002 Penyasawan through the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning model. The background of this research stems from the low level of students’ critical thinking skills in Mathematics, as indicated by their limited ability to provide simple explanations, analyze information, and draw conclusions. Learning activities that remained teacher-centered caused students to become passive and unaccustomed to solving contextual problems. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 24 students. Data were collected through observation, critical thinking tests, and documentation, while the data analysis was carried out using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The RME model was implemented through contextual problem presentation, group discussions, horizontal and vertical mathematization processes, and joint conclusion-making. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ critical thinking skills following the application of the RME model. In Cycle I, students’ mastery level had not yet reached the targeted criteria, with an average achievement of 54.16%, and many students still experienced difficulties in analyzing problems. After improvements were made in Cycle II, students’ critical thinking skills increased to 87.5%, successfully meeting the classical mastery criteria. Furthermore, students’ learning activities also improved, as reflected in their increased participation in discussions, confidence in expressing ideas, and ability to solve problems independently. In conclusion, the Realistic Mathematics Education model is effective in enhancing the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students, particularly in Mathematics learning based on contextual problem solving.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematical problem-solving ability of third grade elementary school students through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the material of measuring length and weight. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 17 third-grade elementary school students of SDN 021 Bangkinang. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student activities and problem-solving ability tests at each meeting. The results of the study showed an increase in students' problem-solving ability in each cycle. In Cycle I, Meeting I, only 41.18% of students completed the task with a very poor category. The completion rate increased to 58.82% at the second meeting with a sufficient category. In Cycle II, there was a better increase, namely 76.47% of students completed the task at the first meeting and increased to 88.24% at the second meeting with a good category. This shows that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the mathematical problem-solving ability of third-grade elementary school students on the material of measuring length and weight.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low ability of students to connect concepts with each other and to apply those concepts in problem-solving, as well as to use them in various contexts. This study aims to determine the effect of the Mind Mapping learning method on students' conceptual understanding abilities. This research is experimental, using a design consisting of a PreTest-PostTest Control Group Design. The population in this study is all seventh-grade students of MTs LKMD Giti for the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample in this study involved two classes, namely class VIIa (18 students), which was the experimental class given the Mind Mapping learning method treatment on Mathematical Concept abilities, and class VIIb (18 students), which was the control class that did not receive treatment. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling. Data collection techniques used tests, observations, and documentation. Based on the research results, the Mind Mapping learning method affects the mathematical concept comprehension ability of seventh-grade students at MTs LKMD Giti. This is evident from the results of the Independent Sample T-Test, which showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. The effect size calculation using Cohen’s d of 1.774 indicates that the impact of the Mind Mapping method is in the large category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by number card teaching aids on students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the statistics material for eighth-grade students at MTs Desa Sawah. The background of this study is based on the low level of students' concept comprehension due to teacher-centered learning and insufficient involvement of students in real activities. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach was chosen because it emphasizes contextual learning experiences and the construction of meaning through mathematical activities relevant to everyday life. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group type. The research subjects were two eighth-grade classes consisting of an experimental class and a control class. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests (pretests and posttests), observation, and documentation. The test instruments were first tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis techniques included tests for normality, homogeneity, t-tests, and N-Gain using SPSS 29 software. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the average posttest scores of the experimental class and the control class. This is evidenced by the t-test results showing a significance value (2-tailed) < 0.05, which is 0.017. Thus, it can be concluded that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by number card teaching aids has a positive effect on improving students' mathematical concept understanding. This approach can serve as an effective alternative learning method to enhance students' understanding, particularly in statistics material.

Abstract

Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) serta kesiapsiagaan tanggap darurat bencana merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK), khususnya jurusan teknik, sebagai calon tenaga kerja yang akan terjun ke dunia industri. Hasil observasi di SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa terkait penerapan K3 serta prosedur dasar tanggap darurat bencana, seperti kebakaran dan evakuasi, masih terbatas. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesiapsiagaan siswa dalam penerapan K3 industri serta penanganan keadaan darurat bencana di lingkungan sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah dan diskusi mengenai konsep dasar K3 dan mitigasi bencana, demonstrasi dan praktik penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD), simulasi identifikasi potensi bahaya, serta prosedur evakuasi darurat yang didukung dengan studi kasus. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan kesiapsiagaan siswa terhadap penerapan K3 dan tanggap darurat bencana. Kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu membentuk budaya keselamatan dan meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan bencana di lingkungan sekolah.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana, Analisis SWOT terhadap implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri (SMPN) 2 Gunung Talang Kabupaten Solok. Jenis penelitian ini dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif melalui metode deskriptif analisis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Analisis SWOT yang terdiri dari strengths (kekuatan), weaknesses (kelemahan), opportunities (peluang), threats (ancaman) dari sisi kekuatan dengan menciptakan kegiatan belajar mengajar yang efektif melalui mempersiapkan materi dan memperhatikan kebutuhan siswa. Dan Analisis kelemahan sangat terbatasnya jumlah buku pedoman atau buku referensi yang bisa menunjang pembelajaran. Dan  Analisis peluang dengan adanya kurikulum merdeka pendidik menjadi mudah memberikan penjelasan kepada siswa, sehingga siswa menjadi aktif, pembelajaran dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan siswa, diterapkannya pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, dan pendidik bebas merancang modul ajar. Analisis tantangan dengan adanya Kurikulum Merdeka menjadikan Lembaga pendidikan untuk melengkapi sesuai kebutuhan-kebutuhan Pembelajaran dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan Nasional.
