Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the form and meaning of reduplication in the Malay language of the Kampar Kiri dialect. This study used a qualitative approach and descriptive method which aimed to describe the form of reduplication and analyze the meaning of the Malay language of Kampar Kiri dialect. The object of this study was in the form of Riau Malay dialect Kampar Kiri dialect used by the people of Batu Sasak Village. Data was obtained by fishing techniques, interview techniques, record techniques, and note-taking techniques. The data were described based on the type and analyzed based on the meaning of the reduplication of the Malay language in the Kampar Kiri dialect. Data that has been analyzed are then formulated into conclusions. After analyzing the data, ten forms were found, namely one beinfix reduplication, three sulfimated reduplication, six prefixed reduplication in the first phallus, four had reduplication prefixed on the second phallus, and three were suffixed reduplication. In addition, six confixed reduplication, five regional reduplication, three voice copy reduplication, ten affixed duplication reduplication, and ten duplicate reduplication without affixes. The total number of forms of reduplication in Riau Malay in the Kampaar Kiri dialect were 51 one data.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the form of imperative speech that positively affects banners in Pekanbaru City and analyses the meaning and function of imperative speech, which positively affects banners in Pekanbaru City. This research includes the form, meaning, and function of imperative speech, which positively affects banners in Pekanbaru City. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collecting techniques are documentation techniques, by capturing images taken directly, so the real results are obtained. Imperative speech forms with a positive meaning on banners in Pekanbaru City are 33 ordinary imperative, 31 requests, and six prohibitions. Imperative speech with a positive meaning on banners in Pekanbaru City were: 14 orders, 13 requests, ten persuasion, and 33 invitations. Imperative speech functions with a positive meaning on banners in Pekanbaru City are 56 about invitations and 14 about requests.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and describe Habib Ja'far's rhetorical techniques in the CloseTheDoor Login program on Deddy Corbuzier's Youtube Channel. In this research, the author used descriptive qualitative methods. The data in this research are Habib Ja'far's speech in the CloseTheDoor Login program. The data source in this research is the CloseTheDoor Login program which is broadcast on Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube Channel, consisting of 20 videos, 10 videos from season 1 and 10 videos from season 2. The data collection technique in this research uses listening and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this research was carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and concluding data. Research results The results of this research are 50 data on pathos and logos techniques in Habib Ja'far. The most dominant techniques used are logos techniques with 29 data and pathos techniques with 21 data.

Abstract

This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research entitled Expressive Speech Acts in Andung-Andung Batak Toba. This study describes the form and function of expressive speech acts in andung-andung speech. The data of this study are language units in the form of words, phrases, clauses or sentences of andung-andung in 9 YouTube channels and 7 amateur videos. The data sources of this study are YouTube channels and amateur videos. Based on the research findings, it is known that there are 2 forms of speech acts, namely direct literal speech acts and direct non-literal speech acts. The functions of expressive speech acts are six, namely (1) thank you, (2) congratulate, (3) hope, (4) apologize, (5) praise, (6) expression. Speech act data based on the forms that have been found, the most dominant direct literal speech act because this andung-andung tradition is spoken by the speaker to the speech partner directly using language that has meaning according to its true meaning (literal meaning). Expressive speech act data based on its functions that have been found, the most dominant expressive function of expressing sadness among other expressive functions. The function of expressing sadness becomes the dominant expressive function because andung-andung is a speech that contains lamentations and sentences that express a person's sadness.

Abstract

This study discusses the forms and functions of illocutionary speech acts in the Minangkabau language, especially the Sungai Geringging dialect used by people in the Pariaman region. This study aims to identify the types of illocutionary speech acts and the socio-cultural context that underlies their use in everyday interactions. The method used is descriptive qualitative with observation data collection techniques, interviews with speakers of the dialect. The results of the study indicate that there are five types of illocutionary speech acts, namely, assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative, each of which has its own linguistic characteristics and social functions in the local context. In addition, Minang cultural values ​​were found such as how to speak to peers, younger, or older. This influences the form and strategy of using illocutionary speech acts in conversation. These findings enrich the study of regional language pragmatics and contribute to the preservation of the variety of Minangkabau dialects.

Abstract

This study discusses speech acts in the Malay dialect of Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province, based on Searlee's theory. Speech acts are an important aspect in pragmatics that influence communication. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze local community conversation data. The results of the study indicate that there are five categories of speech acts, namely assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative. This study specifically discusses assertive illocutionary speech acts. This study also reveals the relationship between language, culture, and place.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of Canva media in teaching speech text writing skills using a process skills approach in class VIII MTs Pondok Pesantren Baituddin Petapahan. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes of students, which are caused by the dominance of conventional methods and the lack of visualization of materials in learning Indonesian. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The study population consisted of 32 students. The sample was set at 30 student. The research instrument was an essay test administered before and after the application of Canva media. A checklist was used to validate the scoring results and internal data analysis. Data on learning outcomes of speech text material for both pretest and posttest were analyzed using parametric inferential statistical procedures. The appropriate procedure for this is a one-sample t-test for pretest and posttest data and a paired sample t-test for comparative data between posttest and pretest results preceded by an assumption test. The results of the study: 1) the pretest for speech text writing skills for both research groups was relatively low; 2) the procedure for learning the skills of writing speech texts using the process skills approach in Canva media; 3) the posttest of the skills of writing speech texts for the experimental group in learning using Canva media is higher than the learning outcome group in the control using conventional media. Thus, the synthesis of this study is that Canva media is effective for use in learning speech material in class VIII.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore: 1) the function of using simile language style in the novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar by Tere Liye; 2) the lesson plan for learning using a dual strategy through the Google form file upload option in class XII of high school. This library research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The subject of the study was the novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar by Tere Liye. Documentation techniques were used to obtain research data from written sources. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method of data analysis, which includes data reduction techniques, data presentation techniques, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results of the study: 1) simile functions as an effective rhetorical tool to describe various emotional, social, and environmental aspects in the narrative. Through the 15 simile quotes analyzed, the author effectively conveys profound messages about past trauma, social injustice, and hopes for peace, as well as criticizing environmental exploitation. This study will provide further insight into how simile language style can create complex meanings in literary works in the future. In addition, this study also supports Indonesian language learning in high school by providing learning media in the form of concrete examples of language style analysis that are relevant to learning outcomes and reading and viewing elements; 2) the lesson plan for learning smile language style in the novel Teruslah Bodoh Jangan Pintar by Tere Liye contains 20 core activities involving a process skills approach, copying assigment techniques, and test techniques using the Google form media with the file upload option.

Abstract

This paper describes and analyzes the language politeness among students of SMP Negeri 2 Kelayang Kelayang District in Indragiri Hulu Regency. It is qualitative research using an analytical descriptive method, namely analyzing and exposing data found in the form of words. Data analysis techniques begin with data reduction, presentation, and making conclusions and verification of the data. The data collection techniques carried out are recording, listening, and taking notes techniques. The source of the research data is inter-student speech. Based on the research results, it was found that the forms of language politeness compliance were the obedience of the maxim of wisdom, the obedience of the generosity maxim, the obedience of the praise maxim, the obedience of the humility maxim, the obedience of the agreement maxim, and the obedience of sympathy maxim. In addition to the obedience of language politeness, violations of language politeness were also found, namely violations of the maxim of wisdom, violations of the generosity maxim, violations of the praise maxim, violations of the humility maxim, violations of the agreement maxim, and violations of the sympathy maxim. The dominant maxim is the violation of the maxim of praise. In addition to the violation of the praise maxim, a dominant maxim refers to obedience to the generosity maxim.
