Abstract

COVID-19 outbreak has affected people's activities in Indonesia. At least people in 34 provinces should stay at home to reduce this pandemic spread. This world pandemic has a massive impact on national and international travel, gatherings, and tourism activities. This research is discussing about Si Budur application that has a new concept to bring back the cultural tourism for digital natives’ generations. Especially, in this pandemic condition, the digital natives’ generations need the appropriate media to learn about their own culture. Many cultural tourism is contain important cultural value for the digital natives’ generation. This paper is talking about the use of SI BUDUR application in order to give Indonesian cultural tourism holding a chance to use a new platform in their activities, especially to counteract the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method to discuss the assumption, supporting theory, and previous research. Collecting the data from previous literature and research that talking about using the digital media to bring back the cultural tourism. Researchers analyze the data by compiling the result of some previous literatures and research then comparing with the Si Budur concept. The result is interesting which shows there are many factors that will affect the implementation of Si Budur. It is an appropriate media for the digital natives’ generation to learn and get the knowledge about cultural history around them during this Covid-19 pandemic. This concept is first and fresh concept that has goals to bring back the cultural value to the digital natives’ generations. The other literatures and previous research did not have same and specific concept like Si Budur. It is offer the combination of latest technology with the amazing cultural value. Indonesia has a lot of cultural value that should be keep in touch with the digital natives’ generations. Digital natives’ generations as the main and massive generations in this era will give necessary effect to the cultural value. Keywords: COVID-19, Culture, Tourism, SI BUDUR

Abstract

 Peningkatan mutu kualitas pribadi haruslah dimulai dari sejak sedini mungkin. Terlebih, anak yang dalam masa pertumbuhan masih tergolong ke dalam golden age yang berarti segala input yang diberikan kepada anak akan melekat ke karakter mereka. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan yang secara khusus ditujukan untuk guru di TK Akhsanuttaqwim, di kelurahan Gunungring, kecamatan Muntilan, kabupaten Magelang, Jawa Tengah. Metode pelaksanaan progam Pengabdian Unggulan Universitas ini terdiri atas beberapa tahap yakni persiapan, sosialisasi, dan pelaksanaan yang terdiri atas pelatihan dan pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Dari hasil yang didapat, guru-guru menjadi lebih termotivasi dalam memberikan pelajaran. Terlebih, guru menjadi lebih berwawasan mengenai APE yang lebih modern dan ramah lingkungan namun sederhana dan mudah didapat. Selain itu, guru mendapatkan referensi lain yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan video pembelajaran di era pandemi ini secara daring.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the hidden meaning of the sentences that are used frequently by the Instagram influencer of @jogjataste to promote the products. It was a qualitative research study with the focus on understanding and an emphasis on meaning. Analysis using discourse analysis approach was used to define the hidden meaning from the data which were 5 sentence templates used by the influencer. It is found that the influencer tends to use simple and elliptical sentences. This may due to the limited time in the Instagram story feature which only has 15 seconds. Those sentence forms are supported by the use of exclamatory sentences which are the most frequently used form to promote the foods as this kind of form shows how the speaker feels. This is to make the endorsement more interesting as the dictions such as sumpah and jujur can really affect followers’ interests on the foods psychologically.

Abstract

Transformasi pembelajaran dari daring ke luring menimbulkan berbagai masalah, salah satunya adalah kesiapan guru. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan kompetensi guru pada transformasi pembelajaran daring-luring dengan berbasis pada Problem Based Learning (PBL). Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah observasi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di dua mitra, yaitu MTs Ma’arif dan SMP Alqodiriyah yang berada di desa Windusari, Magelang, Jawa Tengah yang berlangsung dari bulan Juni-September 2022. Hasil dari kegiatan ini berupa kegiatan dalam rangka memfasilitasi kesiapan guru akan perubahan pembelajaran ke luring, dengan tidak menghilangkan apa yang sudah dipelajari terkait dengan pembelajaran daring, yaitu E-learning readiness. Pengaplikasian teknologi dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi seperti Quizziz, Google Classroom, dan Filmorago menjadi solusi dari masalah yang ada di kedua mitra tersebut. Pelatihan dan pendampingan yang dilakukan terbukti mampu memberikan peningkatan terhadap guru dalam menghadapi transformasi pembelajaran daring-luring. Kedepannya, guru diharapkan mampu secara mandiri mengembangkan materi-materi lain guna menunjang pembelajaran yang lebih maju. Kata Kunci: E-learning readiness, PBL, Pelatihan, Pendampingan

Abstract

Di era sekarang, anak usia dini merupakan generasi alfa yang sangat dekat dengan teknologi. Hal ini menjadi tantangan bagi guru anak usia dini untuk dapat membimbing anak menggunakan teknologi ke arah positif. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan mengenai Alat Permainan Edukatif (APE) berbasis multimedia interaktif berupa LCD writing tablet bagi guru di TK Akhsanuttaqwim. Pengabdian dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu sosialisasi, pelaksanaan—yang terdiri atas pelatihan dan pendampingan, serta evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan akan literasi digital dan variasi media guru terkait penggunaan teknologi sebagai media. Selain itu, guru juga mampu menerapkan media yang diberikan pada kelas yang diampu. Harapan dari guru selanjutnya adalah agar kegiatan ini dapat berkelanjutan karena guru merasa pelatihan terkait penerapan teknologi sangat dibutuhkan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors limiting Midwifery students' performance on the TOEFL, particularly in the Structure and Written Expression sections. This qualitative research was conducted as a case study in two classes of a midwifery study program. Document analysis of 89 student response sheets and interviews with four students constituted the data. Brown (2004)'s difficulty index (IF) formula was used to analyze the quantitative data, while Miles and Huberman's interactive model (2004) was used to analyze the qualitative data. The findings revealed that students' difficulties stemmed from three factors: inadequate vocabulary knowledge, insufficient TOEFL practice, and interference from their native language. In addition, the students' extrinsic motivation negatively affected both their learning and test performance.

Abstract

ABSTRACT     This study aimed to develop an English for Tourism (EFT) digital module oriented to the local wisdom values of Magelang. This study was part of a research and development study employing the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. Beginning with a need analysis phase using a questionnaire, the researchers found students' needs of 10 (ten) relevant language functions that will help them communicate effectively in the tourism industry. These topics were developed into a flipbook by inserting Magelang's wisdom values. To test its feasibility, the researchers conducted an expert judgment procedure by inviting two experts in the field of EFT and media development. The results showed that the Flipbook was feasible to be used with a mean score of more than three for each criterion of a quality module determined by the Education, Curriculum, and Assessment Standards Agency of Indonesia. In addition, following the expert's suggestions, the researchers added a section developed to enrich the student's vocabulary. This study presents the significance of developing learning materials that integrate local values to build students' noble character.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul digital English for Tourism (EFT) yang berorientasi pada nilai-nilai kearifan lokal Magelang. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Tahap analisis kebutuhan menghasilkan identifikasi kebutuhan siswa akan 10 (sepuluh) fungsi bahasa yang dapat membantu mereka berkomunikasi dengan efektif di bidang industri pariwisata.. Topik-topik tersebut dikembangkan menjadi flipbook dengan memasukkan nilai-nilai kearifan Magelang. Untuk menguji kelayakannya, peneliti melakukan expert judgment dengan dua orang ahli di bidang EFT dan pengembangan media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa flipbook ini layak digunakan dengan nilai rata-rata lebih dari tiga untuk setiap kriteria kualitas modul yang ditetapkan oleh Badan Standar, Kurikulum, dan Asesmen Pendidikan Indonesia. Selain itu, peneliti juga mengikuti saran dari ahli untuk menambahkan bagian khusus untuk peningkatan kosakata. Abstract

The rapid enhancement of technology has made it possible to integrate technology and L2 pronunciation assessment. While the investigation of L2 pronunciation was considered vital in English Language Teaching, assessing pronunciation is granted the least attention. This study attempts to discuss the roles and impacts of O’Speak version 1.0 as an automated pronunciation tool and compare it with human ratings while assessing L2 segmental pronunciation features uttered by Indonesian learners of English. This study aims to pilot an android-based pronunciation test, namely, O’Speak, which was developed using Feuerstein’s Mediated Learning Experience principles. Performed under a quasi-experimental research design, this study ran an independent two-sample t-test involving 50 participants. The study showed that there was no statistically significant difference between O’Speak and human ratings in the segmental pronunciation assessment. This indicates that a new tool functions equally with the ability that human rating has. During the study, this study identified some caveats shown by the human rating that leads to its ability to be equal to O’Speak, and these include teaching experience, hallo effect, and rating experience.
