Abstract

Changes in temperature patterns due to climate change are a global challenge that requires in-depth analysis, especially in tropical regions such as the city of Medan, Indonesia. This research aims to project future temperature patterns using the Monte Carlo simulation method, utilizing historical data on daily average temperatures from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). A probability-based Monte Carlo method is used to analyze the future temperature distribution, applying the normal distribution as the basic model. Parameters such as mean and standard deviation are calculated accurately, and thousands of iterations are performed to ensure stable and representative simulation results. The analysis process is carried out using Python and supporting libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib, which provide flexibility and efficiency in environmental data processing. The results of this study show that the Monte Carlo method can produce future temperature distributions that reflect daily temperature variations as well as the probability of extreme events. These predictions provide important insights for various sectors, including health, energy and urban planning, in developing strategic plans to deal with the impacts of climate change. This research confirms that Monte Carlo simulation is an effective approach for analyzing climate data in tropical regions. Additionally, this research opens up opportunities for further development, such as integrating additional data and adapting the model to different environmental scenarios to improve prediction accuracy and relevance of results.

Abstract

Copula functions are powerful statistical tools for modeling the dependency structure between random variables and have been widely applied in domains such as finance, oceanography, and hydrology. However, their application in image processing, particularly for image forgery detection, remains underexplored. This study proposes a novel blind copy-move forgery detection algorithm based on copula-based mutual information, which evaluates statistical dependencies between overlapping image blocks. By leveraging copula theory, the method accurately identifies duplicated regions within a single image without requiring prior knowledge or external references. Experimental results on the CoMoFoD dataset demonstrate that the proposed method achieves high precision, recall, and F1-scores across various manipulation types, including translation, scaling, and rotation, and shows resilience to post-processing operations such as JPEG compression, blurring, noise, and color reduction. Comparative analysis reveals that the copula-based approach outperforms classical methods such as SIFT, SURF, and DWT-SVD. In addition to quantitative performance, qualitative visualizations confirm that the algorithm effectively localizes forged regions in complex scenes with minimal false detections. These findings highlight the potential of copula functions as a robust and efficient framework for digital image forensics.

Abstract

In the realm of education, one of the challenges encountered is the limited ability of teachers to utilize science laboratory equipment and create engaging visualizations for classroom learning. This issue adversely affects students' mastery of science concepts. To address this problem, teachers need to use teaching media as aids in the learning process, which is expected to improve student learning outcomes significantly. One proposed medium is using science teaching aids and the Biorender application, which play a critical role in helping students understand the concepts being taught. Students are expected to comprehend the material more efficiently by using teaching aids and modules, reinforcing conceptual mastery, developing skills, and increasing their learning interests. The methods used in this activity included lectures and practical tutorials, where teachers were introduced to the use of science teaching aids and the application of Biorender to create engaging visualizations for classroom teaching. After participating in this activity, SD Negeri 173637 Narumonda teachers gained additional knowledge. They acquired new skills in using science teaching aids and the Biorender application. This enables them to implement more engaging and effective teaching techniques in science lessons, improving students' understanding and interest in learning.

Abstract

This research analyzes the flow in a round pipe using the Navier-Stokes equations with the aim of understanding the characteristics of flow and friction within the system. The Navier-Stokes equations are employed to describe the movement of fluid within the round pipe, taking into account the effects of viscosity and pressure on the fluid flow. Additionally, friction within the round pipe is analyzed as a consequence of the fluid flow, with the consideration of friction coefficients to depict the magnitude of frictional forces exerted on the pipe walls. Furthermore, the researchers demonstrate that friction coefficients increase with higher flow velocities and fluid viscosities. Simulation results indicate that laminar flow is the dominant condition within the round pipe under investigation. In laminar flow conditions, the boundary layers exhibit greater organization and the fluid flow is more stable. However, at higher flow velocities, a transition from laminar to turbulent flow can occur. The computational analysis presented in this study utilizes the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software COMSOL Multiphysics. This software employs robust numerical algorithms to efficiently solve the continuity, momentum, and Navier-Stokes equations. The program provides information regarding velocity profiles, pressure distributions, and other flow parameters along the round pipe. The simulation results are obtained for varying water velocities of 0.001 m/s, 0.01 m/s, 0.1 m/s, and 1 m/s. By integrating discretization methods, the continuity equation, momentum equation, Navier-Stokes equations in component form, and energy loss calculations, this study offers profound insights into flow within round pipes and its characteristics. This research provides valuable insights into flow in round pipes, the effects of friction, and the challenges in achieving convergence solutions at high water velocities.
