Abstract

The creative economic development in city of Palangka Raya is really needed to deal with the challenges of economic growth that is relatively constant or even low after economic crises. High levels of poverty, unemployment and low industrial competitiveness to determine the direction of creative economic development for fulfilling instructions President Number 6 year 2009 is required efforts to develop the Creative Economy Entrepreneurship in the Framework of Enhancing Creative Economic Enterprises in the city of Palangka Raya. The purpose of this ibm is to increase student interest in entrepreneurship and to improve the economy quality and standard of living in the workshop area. Through this ibm activity will be offered a solution to the problems that have been formulated above. The approach is consisting of 1) Preparation Phase, 2) Assessment Phase, 3) Stage Alternative Planning of Programs or Activities, 4) Formulation of Action Plans Phase, 5) Implementation Stage, 6) Evaluation Phase, and 7) Termination Phase. The implementation of the IBM program is indeed carried out as an effort to empower in the field of entrepreneurship through entrepreneurship training activities that focus on business development program. Implementation methods using information technology and social media that will be carried out are (1) business management plate, (2) Production training, (3) administration, and (4) mentoring. All of these methods are an integral part of this IBM program. Workshop entrepreneurship training for vocational schools (mechanical and automotive major) is important to do in preparing students to enter the workforce after completing their education.

Abstract

“No day without reading ". The sentence was clearly no stranger into a creed (beliefs, convictions) which thronged various enlightenment room in our country. Unfortunately, our nation does have a sense of ignorance that was so severe. Thousands of creed, slogans, mottos lined up, all just be on display. However, reading is a necessity. By reading one can obtain the information needed, stimulates creativity, encourages the emergence of a desire to be able to think critically and systematically, expand, and enrich the knowledge and form a winning personality and competitive. Insightful society is easy to be proactive to the times. Not only important, but also urgent due to read something is the key to build civilization. The behaviours of the students of Building Technical Education FKIP Universitas Palangka Raya in reading are different, there are as lectures took place, there were reading when at home, or anyone reading through the discussion, but this activity is rare to be done. Most of the students choose chatted with his/her friends while waiting Lecturer or to be elsewhere more than reading the books they brought. Therefore, the researchers intend to find out the influence of students' reading interest to their GPA for one encountered semester. Not many students brought relevant books to their class. Only a few students carry the book relevant to the subjects that followed, while others are usually only carry binders or writing books. The result of the research shows that there is a relationship (correlation) between the interest in reading and the students’ GPA.

Abstract

In planning the design of a house that will be inhabited, of course the facilities needed to support the preservation of nature and the environment. The use of youth containers or containers is increasingly being used. For practical reasons and because of other advantages. In addition, the use of containers is believed to be one of the innovative building materials for the future. The use of containers also plays a big role in environmental sustainability, because they can help reduce used containers or in other words semi-used containers that are often left abandoned. The study process used in the general design of the use of containers as an alternative to housing is carried out through research methods that are qualitative-correlative analysis, which is a value contained in something/an object. The research location is located on street Bandara I (Jalan Adonis Samad) with coordinates 2º15'33.3”S 113º56'54.3”E and is 30 minutes from the city center. Coupled with the application of the Modern Futuristic Architecture Theme, for container materials which, if they can be processed properly in the interior decoration, the design is deemed to be able to answer the needs of the lower middle class who need an economical dwelling but still has a good architectural form to be enjoyed in long time.

Abstract

Measuring air retention in constructed canal blockage is critical for determining changes in air content after canal blocking. The purpose of this study is to assess the influence of changes in levels on air retention values measured at three depths, namely 0-20 cm, 20-40 cm, and 40-60 cm, at four transect sampling stations created at a distance of 10 m to 260 m from the canal block. Changes in bulk density, porosity, and peat volume affect groundwater. Peat soil samples were collected from burned peatlands, and canal blocks were constructed. A pressure plate chamber was used to assess air retention. The findings of the investigation revealed that the air retention pattern of peat soil at 16 test sample locations was at maximum at PF 0.2 at each depth. At higher pressures (pF 2-4.2), peat groundwater is strongly bonded by peat soil particles. The average bulk density of peat is 0.2 2 and the porosity value is 86.79%. The higher the air content at each pF value has no influence on the porosity and bulk density values. Changes in air content between pF 2.0 and 4.2 lower average peat volume by 7.4%. The size of this value is assumed to be determined by the peat's type, maturity, and decomposition value.

Abstract

The use of coarse aggregate significantly influences the mechanical properties and overall quality of concrete. This study investigates the impact of different coarse aggregate sizes (10 mm, 20 mm, and 40 mm) on the compressive strength and elastic modulus of concrete at 28 days. The research was conducted as part of a thesis in the Building Engineering Education Program, Department of Vocational Technology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Palangka Raya. The primary objective was to determine the compressive strength and elastic modulus values for concrete mixes using varying coarse aggregate sizes. The concrete mixtures incorporated different coarse aggregate sizes along with fine aggregate, water, and Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) type I from Gresik. The mix design followed the guidelines outlined in SNI 03-2843-2000 for normal concrete mixtures. Testing was performed on cylindrical specimens measuring 15 cm x 30 cm. Each aggregate size variation (10 mm, 20 mm, and 40 mm) was tested using 10 samples, and the tests were conducted at 28 days in the Laboratory of Building Engineering Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Palangka Raya. The average compressive strength at 28 days for the coarse aggregate variations of 10 mm, 20 mm, and 40 mm were 29.15 MPa, 28.60 MPa, and 28.50 MPa, respectively. The average elastic modulus at 28 days for the same variations were 3033 MPa, 3856 MPa, and 3950 MPa.

Abstract

Fish farming is a promising business alternative, especially in rural areas such as Petuk Liti Village. With the potential of existing natural resources, good management is needed so that cultivation results can be optimal (Iskandar & Muslih, 2022). One important aspect of fish farming is controlling water quality, especially water level, which affects fish health and growth (Rahmadani, 2021).However, the challenge faced by fish farmers is the difficulty of monitoring water levels in real-time, so that decisions are often made that are not appropriate, which can be detrimental to cultivation results. Therefore, this PKM activity aims to develop a water level monitoring station based on remote camera technology (GSM) which is implemented in Petuk Liti Village, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan.The monitoring station designed in this research consists of several main components, including a monitoring camera, a water level sensor, and a GSM module which functions to transmit data.The output target of this service is expected to make a significant contribution in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of fish farming in Petuk Liti Village. With a monitoring station, farmers will be quicker and more accurate in taking the necessary actions, so that cultivation results can be optimal.

Abstract

Agriculture is the economic backbone and source of life for many communities in Indonesia, including the City of Palangkaraya. The Sumber Makmur Farmers Group is a clear example of an agricultural community that strives to increase crop production and manage organic waste sustainably. However, they often face obstacles in producing quality compost due to external weather influences. Through this community service, we can also increase awareness of the importance of sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. The Sumber Makmur Farmers Group can be an example for other communities in implementing simple but effective technology to increase agricultural productivity in a sustainable manner. Thus, the activity of making a protective roof for portable compost fertilizer systems is not only a technical contribution to local agriculture, but is also a real effort to advance community welfare and maintain environmental sustainability in Palangka Raya City.

Abstract

Disposing of domestic waste into the river remains a common practice among the majority of residents along the Kahayan River in Palangka Raya City impacting pollution, flooding, and public health. This study aims to analyze variables influencing people's intention to support domestic waste management activities. The study was conducted in Mendawai and Flamboyan Bawah, densely populated settlements on the banks of the Kahayan River in Palangka Raya City. One hundred respondents were selected with a non-probability technique and interviewed to obtain information on infrastructure (X1), economy (X2), location (X3), institutions and regulations (X4), and waste management information (X5) aspects. Descriptive statistics was utilized to understand respondent characteristics and Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) was applied to determine the effect of each variable. This study found that the majority of respondents were women (n = 44), housewives (n = 40), and over 35 years old (n = 46). The analysis results show that increasing the information aspect of waste management will increase the community's intention to support domestic waste management activities by 40.1% (P = 0.001). Meanwhile, increasing the institutional and regulatory aspects has an effect of 29.2% (P = 0.002). The other three variables did not show significant results (P > 0.05). The results of this study reveal that the community's intention to support domestic waste management activities is influenced by the informational, institutional and regulatory aspects. Establishing community-based institutions that able to provide ongoing support presents a viable strategy for promoting sustainable behavioral change.
