Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to determine the composition of the main and by-catch of gill nets and the size of the catch. This community service was carried out during April 2023 at PPN Idi Rayeuk, Matang Rayeuk Pedawa Puntong Village, East Aceh Regency. The data collection method used was obtained from primary data (surveys and interviews) which included the type, quantity, size, and weight of the gill net catch and secondary data can be obtained from scientific references books, journals, theses and dissertations). The data analysis used was the analysis of the composition of the catch and the analysis of the size of the catch. The results of the community service showed that the composition of the main catch of the gill net at a mesh size of 1¼ inches was tembang fish, at a mesh size of 2 inches was ribbon fish and at a mesh size of 3 inches was kapasan/kerot-kerot and kwee fish. By-catch with a net size of 1¼ inches is jackfruit seed fish (upeneus moluccensis), kurisi (nempiterus hexodon), petek (leiognathus equulus), yellow trevally (Atule mate), saurida (Saurida undosquamis), swanggi (Priacanthus hamrur), next (Psettodes erumei), parang-parang (chirocentrus dorab), tetengkek (megalaspis cordyla). ) and layur (trichiurus Sp.A). Next, at a mesh size of 2 inches, namely talang fish (scomberoides tala), diles (johnius carouna), petek (leiognathus equulus), moon (Megalops cyprinoides), machete (chirocentrus dorab), jackfruit (upeneus moluccensis), kurisi (nempiterus hexodon), kwee (carangoides armatus), tetengkek (megalaspis cordyla), gerot-gerot ( Pomadasys kaakan), kerong-kerong (Terapon Jarbua), and alu-alu (Sphyraena genie). Then at the 3 inch mesh size, namely the kapasan/kerot-kerot fish (Pomadasys argenteus), talang (scomberoides tala), petek (leiognathus equulus), kuro (Polydacctylus microstoma), diles (johnius carouna), parang-parang (chirocentrus dorab), mackerel (Scomberomorus Commerson), kapas (Gerres filamentosus), and tetengkek (megalaspis cordyla). The catch at the 1¼ and 2 inch mesh sizes is said to be not yet suitable for catching, while the 3 inch mesh size is said to be suitable for catching.

Abstract

Bubu is one type of fishing gear that operates passively on the bottom of the water. In general, bubu is classified as a catching device in the form of a cage or a closed room, where the fish that enter it cannot come out again. This dedication program aims to apply and test the bottom trap construction that is operated in the waters of Lhok Paroy, as well as evaluate its effectiveness in increasing the catch of local fishermen. This activity was carried out in July-August 2023, located in Paroy Village, Lhoong District, Aceh Besar Regency. The method used is a test method (experimental fishing) by operating a trap directly in the location. The result of the dedication shows that the construction of the trap used has a length of 1.5 m, a width of 1.0 m, and a height of 0.5 m, with a mesh size of 2 inches, additional weights tied to the rope of the branch, and a buoy as a marker of the presence of the trap . As many as 6 species of fish were identified in the catch of bubu, namely red snapper (Lutjanus malabaricus), grouper fish (Epinephelus coioides), chicken fish (Balistoides viridescens), pomace fish (Platax teira), gaga snapper (Lutjanus rivulatus), and treacherous fish (Lutjanus johnii). The total number of fish caught was 16 from 3 trips, with a total weight of 13,474 grams. This result shows that the application of this basic trap has the potential to increase the catch of fishermen in the waters of Lhok Paroy, Aceh Besar.

Abstract

This community service program aims to support efforts to rehabilitate coral reef ecosystems on Tuan Island through the application of appropriate technology based on modified structures. Coral reefs are important ecosystems that provide habitat for various marine species, but are currently being damaged by human activities and environmental changes. In this program, we develop and apply artificial structures that have been specifically modified to support optimal coral regeneration and growth. This approach involves environmentally friendly material technology and designs that mimic natural structures, so that they can integrate well into the marine ecosystem. Through collaboration with local communities and direct training in the field, this program is expected to provide a real contribution to accelerating coral reef recovery while increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining the sustainability of marine ecosystems.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the Indonesian economy, contributing more than 60.5% to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2022. However, MSMEs face significant challenges in the digital era, especially in adapting technology to achieve sustainability and efficiency. The use of technology in the production and packaging process is key for MSMEs to expand market access, reduce production costs, and offer competitive prices. In order to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs in Pasar Kemis District, Tangerang Regency, MSMEs Anugerah Bosstea Mandiri, BAJARA Jus, and Dimsum Dapur Mama Nove participated in a community service program aimed at improving understanding of effective packaging strategies. This program involves the use of automatic sticker cutting tools and vacuum sealers, designed by the Packaging Printing Industry Technology (TICK) Study Program, to address label design and product durability issues. This activity also includes comprehensive training on food preservation, packaging regulations, and the use of food additives, with a focus on realizing sustainable and competitive MSMEs in the modern market. The results are expected to improve the quality and competitiveness of MSME products in an increasingly competitive market.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a significant social issue in Indonesia, with far-reaching impacts on adolescent health, education, and well-being. This article explores the effectiveness of drama performances as a method to raise adolescent awareness of the risks of early marriage in Telaga Urung Hamlet. Through a qualitative approach with a case study design, this study involved adolescents aged 12 to 18 years who actively participated in script writing, acting training, and drama performances. The drama themes used depicted the challenges and consequences faced by those involved in early marriage. The results showed that this activity not only succeeded in attracting adolescents' interest, but also increased their understanding of the issue, followed by in-depth discussions about its impact on the community. Drama performances proved to be effective as an educational tool that educates and facilitates social dialogue, as well as encouraging positive changes in adolescent attitudes and awareness of early marriage. Thus, drama performances can be considered as an innovative strategy in efforts to address the issue of early marriage among adolescents.
