This research was conducted to find out whether there is a significant effect of using Instructional Pronunciation Video on students’ pronunciation ability at ten grade students of SMAN 4 Sampolawa. The design of the research was quasi-experimental design consisting of experimental and control class. The total population was 42 students which consisted of two classes. The sample of this research was class X.MIA (as the experimental class) consisting of 21 students and class X.IIS (as the control class) consisting of 21 students. The data of this research were obtained by giving pre-test and post-test in the form of pronunciation test to the students. Then, the data were analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 version. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistic and inferential statistic and for testing hypothesis of this research used independent sample t-test. In this research, it was found that the mean score of post-test in experimental class was higher than that of post-test in control class. It signified that there was a significant difference between students’ pronunciation taught by using Instructional Pronunciation Video and without using Instructional Pronunciation Video.

The objective of this study is to find out the effect of card sort strategy on students’ writing achievement at SMP Negeri 9 Kendari. This study used quasi experimental design that consisted of experimental class and control class. The sample of this study was students at class VIII4 and VIII5 at SMPN 9 Kendari in academic years 2019/2020. The sample was taken by using cluster random sampling and the total number of students was 62, 31 was for experimental class (VIII4) and 31 was for control class (VIII5). Instrument of the study was a writing test that focused on descriptive text. The writer collected the data by giving pre-test in both of the classes, giving treatment in experimental by giving card sort strategy and non-card sort strategy in control class, and giving post-test in both classes. For testing hypothesis, the researcher used independent sample t-test calculated through SPSS 16.0. The findings of this study showed that students’ mean score of post-test in experimental class was 60.45. It increased 8.19 point from its pre-test (52.26), while students’ mean score of post-test in control class was 54.32. It increased 3.72 point from its pre-test (50.60). Besides, the value of degree of freedom (df) was 60, t value was 9.101, and sig (2 tailed) value was 0.000. It means that the probability (sig) value was lower than α ( p value < α or 0.000 < 0.05). It indicated that, card sort strategy had a significant effect on students’ writing achievement at eight-grade of SMPN 9 Kendari.

This study is conducted to know whether there is a significant correlation among students’ Emotional Quotient (EQ), Intelligence Quotient (IQ), and vocabulary knowledge. This study was a correlational design which employed quantitative research methods. The sample of this study was 34 students which were from XI MIPA 1 in SMAN 2 Kendari. The sampling was taken by random sampling technique. The researcher used 3 instruments such as EQ questionnaire, RPM’s IQ test, and the New Vocabulary Level Test (NVLT) to collect the data. Then the data were analyzed by using Pearson product-moment through SPSS 16.0. The result shows that the coefficient correlation between students’ EQ and their vocabulary knowledge (r=0.482) that indicates a significant correlation and also the coefficient correlation between students’ IQ and their vocabulary knowledge (r=0.437) also indicates there is a significant correlation. The significant score of each students’ EQ and IQ has a significant correlation with vocabulary knowledge because its probability value (sig.2- tailed) is 0.004 and 0.010 which lower than 0.05 (sig (2-tailed) < âˆ). It can be concluded that H1 is accepted and H0 is unaccepted. This indicates that there is a significant correlation between students’ EQ and their vocabulary knowledge and also there is a significant correlation between students’ IQ and their vocabulary knowledge.

This study is conducted to examine the effect of Truth or Dare Game on Students’ Speaking Achievement at SMP Negeri 9 Kendari. This research was conducted in quasi experimental research design that consist of experimental class and control class. The population of this research wasthe second-grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Kendari which consists of ten classes with the total of the students are 352 students, while the subject of this research wasClass VIII-6 (experimental class) which consists of 36 students and Class VIII-7 (control class) which consists of 36 students. The data of this research was collected by giving pre-test and post-test to students in the form of oral test that related to the topic of asking and giving opinion, expression of like and dislike, and asking and giving personal information. The data was analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 version by using (descriptive analysis and inferential statistics). Descriptive analysis was used to describe the maximum scores, minimum scores, mean score and standard deviation while the inferential statistic was used to examine the hypothesis. As for testing the hypothesis. The result showed that there was an improvement of the students’ speaking achievement. Independent samples ttest suggested that, there was a significant difference in the scores for experimental class ( M = 62.22, SD = 8.81) and control class ( M = 45.00, SD = 7.55), t (70) = 68.400, p (0.000) < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the value of Sig (2 tailed) is lower than the significance α value (0.000 < 0.05). In other words, alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It means that Truth or Dare game can enrich students’ speaking achievement for Junior High School Student.

The objective of this research is to find out the effect of using card game on students’ speaking achievement at MA Karae. It was conducted in the pre-experimental research design. The population of this research was the students of class X IPA MA Karae which consists of two classes with 53 students, while the subject of this research is the class X science program consisting of 28 students. The research data were collected by giving pretest and post-test to students in the form of oral tests related to the topic of personal introductory expressions, intentions and favorite places. Data were analyzed using SPSS 16.0 using (descriptive analysis and inferencial statistic). Meanwhile, to test the hypothesis, the researcher used a t-test (paired sample t-test) which was calculated through SPSS 16.0. The result shows that there is a significant effect of card playing technique on students' speaking achievement in the first year MA Karae students. It also shows that the use of this technique can improve the accuracy and fluency of students' speaking. It can be seen from the average post-test score is 53.21, while the average score of the pre-test is 29.28. To prove the hypothesis, the researcher concludes by comparing the Sig (2 tailed) value with the significance value α. This shows that the Sig (2 tailed) value was 0,000 while the significance value α is 0.05. So, it can be concluded that the Sig (2 tailed) value is lower than the significance value α (0,000 <0.05). In other words, (H1) is accepted. It means that there is a significant influence of the card game technique on students 'speaking ability in the first year of the MA Karae.

This research is conducted to find out whether there is a significant effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model on students’ speaking achievement at class XI of SMAN 10 Kendari. The design of this research was pre-experimental research (one group pre-test and post-test design). The population involved the XI-graders science program (X1 MIA) of SMAN 10 Kendari which consisted of four classes, while the sample taken by using simple random sampling technique was students at class X1 MIA 4 consisting of 21 students. The instrument was an oral test about asking and giving opinion related to the topic. The researcher used Paired Sample T-test through SPSS 16.0 version to analyze the result of the research. The result showed that the mean score of students’ speaking achievement in posttest was higher than that of in pre-test (55.47 > 37.14). The hypothesis testing found that the value of sig (2 Tailed) was 0.00 while the significant alpha value was 0.05. It can be concluded that the value of Sig (2 Tailed) was lower than the significant alpha value (0.00 < 0.05). It means that the use of Problem Based Learning model has a significant effect on students’ speaking achievement at the XI grade of SMAN 10 Kendari.
