Abstract

The psychological well-being of working mothers has become a significant issue in modern life, particularly due to increasing dual-role pressures between domestic and professional responsibilities. This condition can lead to stress, emotional exhaustion, and reduced quality of life if not balanced with adequate support. This study aims to identify the main challenges affecting the psychological well-being of working mothers, as well as protective factors that help them cope with such pressures. The method used is a systematic literature review of research articles published between 2016 and 2025. Literature was searched using the Publish or Perish application with the keywords: “psychological well-being” AND “working mom” OR “working mothers” AND “challenges” AND “protective factor”, yielding 600 articles. Inclusion criteria were articles in English or Indonesian, using quantitative or qualitative methods, involving working mothers as participants, and specifically addressing psychological well-being. Screening was conducted using Rayyan.ai, resulting in 14 eligible articles. The review followed PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Findings show that dual-role burdens, blurred boundaries between work and home, and lack of social support are key stressors contributing to reduced well-being. Protective factors include family and coworker support, work flexibility, resilience, self-compassion, and the quality of mother-child relationships. The implications highlight the need for flexible work policies and cross-sectoral support systems. Future research is encouraged to explore different cultural contexts and to test interventions based on self-compassion, resilience, and supportive workplace policies for working mothers.

Abstract

The dynamic changes within the world of work require individuals to engage in robust career planning. In this context, career aspiration is understood as a psychological construct reflecting an individual’s hopes, motivations, and goals related to their future employment. This study aimed to adapt and evaluate the psychometric properties of the Career Aspirations Scale-Revised (CAS-R) into Indonesian to provide a valid and reliable measurement tool. The respondents comprised 549 Indonesian adolescents. The adaptation process followed the ITC (2018) guidelines, encompassing content validation, construct validation through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Rasch analysis, as well as reliability testing. The CFA results supported a three-factor structure (RMSEA = 0.034; CFI = 0.990; TLI = 0.990), with 18 items meeting the factor loading criteria. Cronbach’s alpha of 0.910 indicated high reliability. Rasch analysis further supported the instrument’s validity and internal consistency, with 19 items deemed to fit the model. These findings confirm that the Indonesian version of CAS-R is a suitable instrument for measuring adolescents’ career aspirations in Indonesia. It can be used by schools, counselors, and psychological institutions to support career assessment and planning.

Abstract

Job performance is a highly relevant topic in industrial and organizational psychology; however, its association with internal psychological strengths such as hope, gratitude, and mindfulness has been relatively underexplored, particularly across different cultural contexts. Existing studies on job performance tend to emphasize negative factors, such as stress and workload, while the role of positive psychological factors remains comparatively neglected, especially in Indonesia. The present study examined the contribution of hope, gratitude, and mindfulness to job performance among 205 employees in Indonesia using a cross-sectional quantitative design. Data were collected via an online questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicated that the research model was significant, F (3, 201) = 61.00, p < .001, R² = .477, showing that the three variables jointly explained approximately 48% of the variance in job performance. Specifically, hope and mindfulness had positive and significant effects on job performance, whereas gratitude did not demonstrate a significant positive effect. These findings underscore the importance of considering individual strengths—namely hope, gratitude, and mindfulness—in recruitment processes as well as in the design of organizational training and intervention programs aimed at enhancing employee performance.

Abstract

Collaborative group learning, commonly referred to as group work, is widely applied in higher education to enhance students teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. However, the success of this learning model depends heavily on interpersonal trust among group members. This study aimed to explore students interpersonal trust toward their group members in academic settings. Using a descriptive quantitative design, data were collected from 257 students across various universities in Indonesia through snowball sampling. Interpersonal trust was measured using the Interpersonal Trust Scale, developed based on Rotters framework, which demonstrated strong psychometric properties (item discrimination indices: 0.3330.865; reliability coefficient: 0.947). The findings revealed that most participants demonstrated high levels of interpersonal trust, with reliability as the dominant aspect, indicating that students could rely on and entrust tasks to their peers. Furthermore, no significant differences were found across demographic factors, including gender, field of study, and university status. These results highlight the central role of reliability in shaping effective group work and suggest that lecturers and curriculum developers should foster supportive learning environments, establish clear group norms, and integrate communication and conflict resolution training. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to the literature on interpersonal trust in higher education. It suggests that future research should employ more complex methods and comparative approaches, particularly between online and offline learning contexts, to better understand the dynamics of trust in collaborative learning.
