Abstract

This research took place in Kedai Durian Village, Delitua District, Deliserdang Regency. This location was chosen based on the researcher's investigation that the BUMDes in the village were managed and run by youths whose the institution they are incorporated in Karang Taruna Citra Yodha. The business that taken by the youth of the Kedai Durian village or Karang Taruna Citra Yodha is the renting (rental), where BUMDes Kedai Durian is a business to rent tents / tratak for party. The reason this business was chosen because it was adjusted to the pontential of the region where the Kedai Durian village has a dense population. The Kedai Durian village which borders the area of ​​Medan City, indirectly also affects the condition of the village which has moved into a densely populated community. Because of the population density in Kedai Durian Village, of course has a potential to develop the rental business, where people will use a lot of these rental services.

Abstract

The participatory rural appraisal method is carried out as an effort to develop areas and improve human resources and community welfare. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of village transect, seasonal calendar, division of labour between men and women, livelihood, and institutional relation partially and simultaneously on the community welfare. The study was conducted in Batu Itam Village on the effect of participatory rural appraisal on the community welfare. The analytical methods employed descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the village transect, seasonal calendar, labor division between men and women, and livelihood had a positive and significant effect on the community welfare. Institutional relation had no significant effect on the community welfare. Village transect, seasonal calendar, labor division between men and women, livelihood, and institutional relation simultaneously had a significant effect on the community welfare in Batu Itam Village, South Aceh Regency

Abstract

The increase production of corn (Zea Mays L.) causes the amount of corncob waste to be abundant in Tantom Angkola Subdistrict. The requires an analysis of the potential utilization of corncob waste as a bioenergy raw material This study aims to analyze the use of bioenergy from corncobs waste to improve the economy of the community in Tantom Angkola Subdistrict, Tapanuli Selatan Regency. This research was conducted from April to June 2021. This research is a quantitative study. Based on the results of the study, the average corn production was 9.192.22 tons/year with the potential for corn cobs waste reaching 130.95 tons/year. Utilization of corncobs waste by using technology can produce briquette, gas and bioethanol. Prospects of developing a bioenergy technology that is feasible to run as a business are briquettes and bioethanol.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to analyze the role of youth in promoting a local city with global characteristics and to find out the obstacles of promotional activities carried out by youth in Medan Petisah sub-district. The research method used descriptive qualitative and the analysis technique consists of three activities simultaneously, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of this study indicate that the active role of youth as a moral force has been going well, but the active role of youth as social control in the research location itself has not been seen significantly and the active role of youth as agents of change from observations in the field shows that several indicators of youth as the change agent has been made but still needs to be improved. The obstacles faced by youth are The special youth portal that has been prepared cannot be used optimally, as a result youth who want to join still have to register manually and the local government is considered not to have realized the potential of youth. In addition, the facilities and infrastructure to support promotional activities are not sufficient, nor is there a budget and a special community for youth in carrying out promotional activities.

Abstract

As an effort to build the quality of human resources, organizations need to carry out human resource development which is a process of increasing knowledge, skills and abilities in order to achieve national development goals which include planning, development and management. Through research on performance improvement at the North Sumatra Province human resource development agency, this study aims to analyze the effect of work productivity on public services. The population and sample in this study were prospective civil servants, Alumni of the Latsar state civil apparatus who had attended the Basic Training for prospective civil servants at the North Sumatra provincial human resource development agency totaling 120 (one hundred and twenty) people. The results of this study are: 1) There is a positive effect of work productivity on performance improvement; (2) there is no positive effect of work productivity on public services; (3) there is a positive effect of performance improvement on public services; (4) there is a positive direct effect of work productivity on public services through performance improvement; (5) there is an indirect effect of work productivity on public services through performance improvement.

Abstract

The number of paddy production in Labuhanbatu Utara Regency, North Sumatera Province, Indonesia, continues to decline from year to year, partly due to the reduction in the area of paddy fields. This was caused by land conversion from paddy fields to non-paddy fields. This research aims to analyze the pattern of changes in the process of paddy fields to non-paddy fields in Labuhanbatu Utara Regency and its suitability on the regional spatial plan between 2017 and 2021. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The data was processed and analyzed using an overlapping method on biophysical data, existing conditions, and other thematic data, using Geographic Information System. The results showed that there had been a reduction in the area from paddy fields to non-paddy fields of 2,992.88 hectares from 2017-2021. It is dominated by conversion from paddy fields to oil palm areas of 2,795.58 hectares. The conversion suitability of paddy fields to non-paddy fields in 2017-2021 against Labuhanbatu Utara regional spatial plan is 21.92 percent, while 78.08 percent is not. To maintain food security in Labuhanbatu Utara Regency, the government should tighten supervision of the implementation of the regional spatial plan as well as increase the allocation of paddy fields.
