Abstract

One of the challenges in oyster mushroom cultivation faced by the Andika Makmur Sejahtera Farmer Group in Tondok Bakaru Village, Mamasa Regency, is the limited access to oyster mushroom spawn. The community's lack of knowledge and understanding related to spawn production, compounded by limited equipment and facilities, necessitates the importation of oyster mushroom spawn from outside the island of Sulawesi. This situation affects the efficiency of the production process and results in high costs. To address this challenge, a team from Universitas Sulawesi Barat, supported by a team from Universitas Negeri Makassar, provided training and assistance in producing F0, F1, and F2 oyster mushroom spawn to members of the oyster mushroom farmer group in Tondok Bakaru Village. The aim of this community service program is to equip farmer group members with the skills and knowledge required for producing oyster mushroom spawn and using the necessary equipment. The program began with a field observation of the target partner’s conditions, both in person and through remote communication. This was followed by a coordination phase between the implementation team and the supporting team regarding the planned community service activities. The implementation phase included the delivery of materials on oyster mushroom spawn production techniques, accompanied by demonstrations and hands-on practice by farmer group members. The program concluded with monitoring and evaluation to assess the program's success. The training and assistance activities resulted in an 85.22% increase in community knowledge, indicating that these activities were effective in supporting the progress of oyster mushroom cultivation in Tondok Bakaru Village. Salah satu tantangan budidaya jamur tiram yang dialami oleh Kelompok Tani Andika Makmur Sejahtera di Desa Tondok Bakaru, Kabupaten Mamasa adalah sulitnya akses untuk memperoleh bibit jamur tiram. Kurangnya pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat terkait pembuatan bibit, ditambah dengan minimnya fasilitas peralatan yang dimiliki sehingga bibit jamur tiram harus didatangkan dari luar Pulau Sulawesi. Hal ini berdampak pada kurang maksimalnya proses produksi dan tingginya biaya yang dikeluarkan. Untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut, tim Universitas Sulawesi Barat didampingi oleh tim Universitas Negeri Makassar memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan bibit jamur tiram F0, F1, dan F2 kepada anggota kelompok tani jamur tiram di Desa Tondok Bakaru. Tujuan program pengabdian ini adalah untuk membekali anggota kelompok tani kemampuan dan keterampilan dalam membuat bibit jamur tiram dan menggunakan peralatan pendukung. Tahapan kegiatan dimulai dari observasi kondisi mitra sasaran secara langsung di lapangan dan melalui komunikasi jarak jauh. Dilanjutkan dengan tahapan koordinasi antara tim pelaksana dan tim pendamping terkait rencana kegiatan pengabdian yang akan dilakukan. Tahapan implementasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan pemberian materi terkait teknik pembuatan bibit jamur tiram yang dilanjutkan dengan demonstrasi dan praktik langsung oleh anggota kelompok tani. Program pengabdian ini diakhiri dengan monitoring dan evaluasi terhadap keberhasilan program yang telah dilaksanakan. Kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan Kelompok Tani Andika Makmur Sejahtera hingga 85,22% yang menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan jamur tiram ini efektif untuk mendukung kemajuan proses budidaya jamur tiram di Desa Tondok Bakaru.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of ferns present in Siraun Village, calculate the diversity indices, and identify environmental parameters that influence the presence and distribution of ferns at the study site. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using purposive sampling with transects. The study location was divided into four stations based on the topographic conditions of each station. The results showed that (1) A total of 34 fern species belonging to 16 families were found, including Thelypteridaceae, Blechnaceae, Athyriceae, Dennstaedtiaceae, Gleicheniaceae, Pteridaceae, Lindsaeceae, Marattiaceae, Tectariaceae, Cytheaceae, Polypodiaceae, Aspleniaceae, Lecytidaceae, Lyogodiaceae, Selaginellaceae, and Lycopodiaceae. (2) The Shannon-Weiner diversity index (H’) was 2.583, indicating moderate fern diversity in Siraun Village. The dominance index (C) was 0.109, showing that no fern species dominated the area. The species richness index (R1) was 3.388, categorized as moderate richness. The evenness index (E) was 0.132, indicating low evenness among fern species. The similarity index (IS) was above 50%, indicating a high level of species similarity in Siraun Village. (3) Environmental parameters measured included soil moisture (14.5–41.5%), soil pH (3.3–6.4), air temperature (25.7–36.1°C), and light intensity (2,826.5–7,421 lux). Overall, these values were within the tolerance range for ferns and are suspected to influence the growth and distribution of ferns in Siraun Village.

Abstract

This community service aims to enhance agro-edutourism management in Batulaya Village through training on hydroponic and vertical garden technology, utilizing plastic waste as a planting medium. The agro-edutourism in this village has great potential but faces challenges in managing limited land and high levels of plastic waste. The training program involved 65 participants, including local farmers, village youth, and agro-edutourism managers. A qualitative method was used to collect data through questionnaires and observations, which were then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show that the training successfully improved participants' knowledge and skills in applying hydroponic and vertical garden technology. A total of 85% of participants were able to understand the basic concepts of the technology, and 70% could utilize plastic waste as a planting medium. The activity concludes that training and improving agro-edutourism management based on hydroponics and vertical gardens in Batulaya Village not only succeeded in enhancing the community's technical capacity but also provided innovative solutions to environmental issues. However, challenges in accessing resources and technology need to be addressed to ensure the sustainability of this program.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani Siamasei merupakan salah satu kelompok tani yang mewadahi petani bawang mandar di Desa Lego. Saat ini banyak petani bawang mandar yang mulai beralih pada komoditas pertanian lain sebab menganggap pertanian bawang mandar kurang memberi keuntungan. Padahal bawang mandar merupakan salah satu komoditas khas Sulawesi Barat yang banyak digunakan dalam berbagai olahan makanan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh berbagai permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh petani bawang mandar, diantaranya menurunnya produktivitas bawang mandar akibat penurunan kualitas lahan pertanian. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka solusi yang ditawarkan adalah dengan kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan sistem pertanian berbasis teknologi biofertilizer. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah agar peserta mengetahui teknologi pupuk hayati berbasis mikroorganisme yang dapat membantu petani untuk meningkatkan produktivitas bawang mandar tanpa merusak kondisi lahan. Pengabdian ini meliputi beberapa tahap kegiatan antara lain FGD, pembuatan starter dan biofertilizer, pelatihan dan pendampingan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah diproduksinya starter mikroba yang dapat digunakan oleh petani sebagai stok untuk membuat biofertilizer secara mandiri. Selain itu melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan, petani memperoleh informasi baru mengenai teknologi pemanfaatan mikroba dalam pembuatan pupuk hayati. Dari tahap evaluasi diperoleh hasil bahwa sebanyak 88.5% peserta berpendapat bahwa kegiatan pelatihan telah berjalan dengan baik.
