Abstract

The students’ learning results in Biology are influenced by two factors, namely internal and external factors. The internal factors that can influence learning results are learning style, learning independence, and learning interest. The research aims to discover the relation of  learning style, learning independence and learning interest with Biology learning results of the students at SMAN 1 Tonra in Bone District.The research is ex post facto. The population of the research were the students of class IPA at SMAN 1 Tonra in Bone District of academic year 2016/2017. The samples were 194 students taken by using stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected by employing questionnaire and documentation. The data of the research were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics techniques. The results of the research reveal that (i) the students’ learning style tends to be in visual type, (ii) the students’ learning independence is in high category, (iii) the students’ learning interest is in high category, (iv) the students’ Biology learning results is in high category, (v) there is strong relation between learning style and the students’ Biology learning results, (vi) there is fairly strong relation between learning independence and the students’ Biology learning results, (vii) there is strong relation between learning interest and the students’ Biology learning results, and (viii) there is very strong relation between learning style, learning independence, and learning interest toword Biology learning results of the students at SMAN 1 Tonra in Bone District.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country with very high biodiversity, within which are potential medicinal plants that have not been fully explored or utilized. The potential of this natural biodiversity for the health and welfare of  the Indonesian  community  is regarded as high, if it is properly utilized. An example of the potential benefits of these plants is reflected in the types of traditional medicinal plants used by the Mamuju ethnic in West Sulawesi. This research aims to describe the types of plants used as traditional medicines by the Mamuju ethnic group. The study is based on descriptive approach that used a combination of observations, interviews and taxonomy.  The results of the study revealed that there are 31 species of medicinal plants used as sources of traditional medicine by the Mamuju ethnic group, of which there are 33 medical herbs used for the treatment of 31 kinds of diseases. The health issues that are addressed through the use of medicinal plants include the treatment of some types of internal diseases, including cysts, cancer, tumors, high blood pressure, ulcers and diabetes; disease symptoms such as itching, swelling, myopic, new injuries and infections. Some traditional medicines are used in relation to onset of menstruation, and postpartum treatment. The plant components that are used for medicinal purposes include roots, stems, stem bark, leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds, rhizomes and tubers. However, the predominant plant component used for medicinal purposes is plant leaves.

Abstract

DOWNLOAD PDFPenelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui kadar  nitogen  tanah  dan  pertumbuhantanaman bayam yang diberi pupuk kompos Azolla. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancanganacak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri atas 2 kelompok, dimana tiap kelompok terdiri atas 4perlakuan dan  1  kontrol  dengan  3  ulangan.  Parameter  pengamatan adalah  pertumbuhantanaman bayam yang meliputi tinggi tanaman (cm), berat kering tanaman bayam (gram),kadar amonium (NH4+) dan nitrat (NO3-) pada tanah serta kadar nitrat (NO3-) air lindihan.Hasil  penelitian  menunjukkan  bahwa  pupuk  kompos  Azolla  mulai  berpengaruh  nyataterhadap  tinggi  tanaman  sejak  pengamatan  minggu  ke-tiga  dan  berpengaruh  nyata  pulaterhadap berat kering tanaman bayam. Pemberian pupuk kompos Azolla berpengaruh nyataterhadap kadar amonium dan nitrat tanah masing-masing pada minggu ke dua dan mingguke  dua  dan  ke  empat.  Disamping  itu  pemberian  pupuk  tersebut  juga  berpengaruh  nyataterhadap kadar nitrat pada air lindihan.Kata kunci : Pupuk kompos Azolla, pertumbuhan tanaman bayam, nitrogen tanah

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menyeleksi (screening) bakteri penambat nitrogen non simbiotik yang diisolasi dari rhizosfer tanaman jagung (Zea mays L.) dan padi (Oryza sativa L.) yang memiliki kemampuan mengekskresikan amonium. Sampel diambil dari daerah Mangkoso, Kabupaten Barru, Provensi Sulawesi Selatan pada daerah rhizosfer tanaman. Isolasi bakteri penambat nitrogen dilakukan dengan menggunakan medium pertumbuhan bebas nitrogen yaitu medium Burk?s dan Ashby. Koloni bakteri yang tumbuh pada medium pertumbuhan selanjutnya dimurnikan dan diuji kemampuan ekskresi amoniumnya dengan menggunakan metode spectrophotometry. Isolat bakteri yang memiliki kemampuan mengekskresikan amonium dikarakterisasi secara morfologi dan fisiologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 20 isolat bakteri yang mampu tumbuh pada medium bebas nitrogen, namun setelah dilakukan uji ekskresi amonium hanya diperoleh 9 isolat yang memiliki kemampuan mengekskresikan amonium dari masing-masing medium pertumbuhan. Isolat bakteri dan konsentrasi amonium yang diekskresikan masing-masing adalah ABJ211 (179 µg/L), ABP213 (269 µg/L), ABP211 (162 µg/L), ABP131 (254 µg/L), ABP242 (104 µg/L), BBJ221 (263 µg/L), BBJ222 (272 µg/L), BBP222 (269 µg/L) dan BBP214 (257 µg/L). Kesembilan isolat tersebut memiliki karakteristik morfologi dan fisiologis yang bervariasi terutama pada sifat struktur dinding sel (gram), kemampuan hidrolisis pati, gelatin dan kasein, sementara kemampuan dalam mereduksi nitrat dan H2O2 (reaksi katalase positif) serta fermentasi glukosa menunjukkan karakter yang seragam.Kata kunci: Bakteri Penambat Nitrogen, Non Simbiotik, Ekskresi Amonium, Karakterisasi Morfologi dan Fisiologis

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan isolat bakteri penambat nitrogen yang diisolasi dari rhisosfer tanaman padi dan jagung asal Kabupaten Takalar dalam memproduksi zat pengatur tumbuh IAA dan pelarutan posfat. Isolasi bakteri penambat nitrogen dilakukan menggunakan medium selektif bebas nitrogen yaitu Ashby dan Burk’s. Koloni bakteri yang tumbuh dan menunjukkan perbedaan karakteristik dipilih kemudian dikarakterisasi secara fisiologi dan morfologi. Kemampuan menghasilkan IAA dari isolat bakteri dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode spectrophotometry pada panjang gelombang 535 nm. Uji kemampuan pelarutan posfat secara kuantitatif dilakukan pada medium Pikovskaya dengan membandingkan rasio antara diameter koloni dengan diameter zona bening yang terbentuk. Dari hasil isolasi bakteri diperoleh 20 isolat bakteri penambat nitrogen dimana 6 isolat diantaranya terdeteksi mampu memproduksi zat pengatur tumbuh IAA dengan konsentrasi antara 7.35-38.35 ppm. Dari 6 isolat yang mampu memproduksi zat pengatur tumbuh IAA, 2 isolat diantaranya terdeteksi mampu melarutkan posfat dengan rasio zona bening 1,7 cm-2,6 cm sedangkan empat isolat diantaranya tidak memiliki kemampuan dalam melarutkan posfat.

Abstract

Abstract. This study is an experimental research that aims to find out how the response of corn growth (Zea mays) with urea-coated zeolite as nitrogen release slowly, implemented from April to December 2017. The making of fertilizer is done in Biology Laboratory of East III Floor Department of Biology Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Makassar State University. The cultivation and maintenance of maize was conducted at Greenhouse of Ecophysiology of Seraca Crops Research Institute (Balitsereal) Maros and Analysis of nitrogen data at Soil Laboratory of Agricultural Technology Assessment Institute (BPTP) Regency. Maros South Sulawesi. This research used Randomized Block Design (RAK) 3 grouping with Control, Urea, Phosphate, Potassium (UPK), UPK Zeolite 10%, UPK Zeolit 30%, and UPK Zeolit 50%. The corn variety used was HJ 21 Agritan. Observation parameters were stem circumference, leaf chlorophyll content, plant biomass (root, stem and leaves), cob weight, ear length, seed weight, leaf nitrogen and seed nitrogen. The technique of data origin is done by using variance analysis technique (F test) / ANOVA at the level of trust α = 0,05%. Then proceed with Duncan's advanced test using SPSS statistic program 20. The results showed that there was an interaction between zeolite-coated urea fertilizer on the yield of cob and corncob with different results on the other treatment. The best results on urea-coated zeolite treatment with 10% concentration. While for stem circumference, leaf chlorophyll content, plant biomass (root, stem and leaf), seed weight, leaf nitrogen and seed nitrogen showed no effect but when viewed the average result of urea coated application of zeolite with the highest 30% concentration.Keywords: The growth of corn, the application of urea zeolite coated, slow release fertilizersp., Thalassiosira sp., Probiotic Bacteria

Abstract

Memberdayakan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Mahasiswa Melalui Pembelajara Inkuiri Terbimbing pada Mata Kuliah Biologi Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Dick and Carey untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran mata kuliah biologi dasar dengan pendekatan pembelajaran inkuri terbimbing. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan pada mahasiswa peserta mata kuliah Biologi Dasar tahun akademik 2015/ 2016, dengan tujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, dan memperoleh data empiris mengenai keunggulan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dalam memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan, yaitu satuan acara perkuliahan (SAP), lembar kerja mahasiswa (LKM), dan media pembelajaran mendapat kategori valid. Mahasiswa juga memberikan respon yang baik terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran, serta penerapan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terbukti dapat memberdayakan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa.Kata kunci: Berpikir kritis, inkuiri terbimbing

DOWNLOAD PDFDescriptive research was done to know the contents of lead (Pb) in tea leaf (Camellia sinensis) at top, under hills as well as soil of tea plantation at top and under the hills in Malino district. The Variable of these researches was lead content in tea leaf at top and under the hills. Another variable was soial of tea plantation at the top and under hills. The samples were taken from six stations, which were 1, 2, and 3 stations at top hill and 4, 5 and 6 stations at under hill. The leaf sample that taken was small sprout. Lead content was analyzed by using Absorption Automatic Spectrophotometer.  The results showed that mean content of lead in tea leaf at top hill was 3,4 µg/kg and mean content of lead at under hill was 5,7 µg/kg. The mean content of soil at top hill was 8,4 µg/kg and the average Pb content of soil at under hill was 7,5 µg/kg. After calculated by Mann-Whitney test found that there was difference Pb between concentration in the leaves on tea plants at top and under hills. There was no differences between lead concentration in soil at the top and under of hills. Test correlation with Spearman Rank found that there was correlation between Pb contents in the leaf of tea plants on the hill with soil at the hill. Study also showed that no correlation between lead content at tea leaf and soil at under of the hill.   Key words: Tea leaf (Camellia sinensis),  lead (Pb),  Malino tea plantation.

Abstract

Penelitian merupakan eksperimen semu, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan media alat peraga pada materi sistem peredaran darah kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Bulukumba. Hasil analisis sttistik menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata hasil belajar untuk siswa kelompok eksperimen sebesar 79,3 dan kelompok kontrol sebersar 69,6, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan media alat peraga terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem peredaran darah kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Bulukumba.Kata kunci:  Media Alat Peraga, Hasil Belajar, Sistem Peredaran Darah

Abstract

Abstract. The growth rate of Hermetia illucens larvae in the bioconversion of organic waste is influenced by the media and environmental conditions where the BSF lives. This study aims to determine the effect of the feed formula on the growth of Hermetia illucens larvae in the bioconversion of organic waste. This research method was carried out by rearing BSF larvae, making BSF feed formulas, determining larval length, determining the weight and weight of BSF cassava. The results showed that the feeding formula from fish waste, tapioca waste with a chopped diameter of 10,20,30 mm gave a significant effect on the growth of BSF larvae (larval length, larvae weight) and BSF maggots. The provision of 20 and 30 percent fish waste has a higher weight and length with a chopped diameter of 20 and 30 mm..Keywords: feed formula, hermetia illucens, bioconversion, organic waste
