Abstract

Early mobilization helps speed up post-surgical recovery, allowing wound healing and improving blood circulation. Post-caesarean section, the patient is at Dr Abdul Rivai Hospital Berau; after 6 hours post-caesarean section is still afraid of early mobilization and needs to learn more about early mobilization. A lack of early mobilization ability can be a lack of information, which creates a lack of motivation. Health education is carried out by hospitals through counseling, without using media such as videos and leaflets. Purpose: This study aimed to know the effectiveness of health education using video media and pamphlets on the ability of early mobilization in Post Sectio Caesaria patients. This was a quasi-experimental research type with two pre- and post-test design groups. The population was post sectio caesarea patients at dr. Abdul Rivai Hospital Berau in September 2023 numbered 81 people, based on the Lameshow formula, a sample of 30 people, including video and leaflet media groups of 15 people each. The early mobilization score before giving video media was a mean value of 5.67, and after giving video media, a mean value of 7.53. The early mobilization score before providing the leaflet media was a mean value of 5.67, and after providing the leaflet media, the mean value was 7.27. It showed differences in the effectiveness of health education using video and leaflet media on early mobilization abilities. This indicates that Video media and leaflets can help improve early mobilization abilities in Post Sectio Caesarea patients.

Abstract

Hospital efforts to increase early mobilization have so far only been through verbal education, but patients still need better Self-Efficacy and elements in carrying out early mobilization. However, early mobilization is very important to speed up post-operative recovery. Early mobilization requires maternal self-efficacy to carry out early mobilization. For this reason, it is necessary to increase self-efficacy by providing pre-operative education using video media so that post-operative patients can immediately mobilize early. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of preoperative educational videos on Self Efficacy and the implementation of early mobilization in mothers after caesarean section. This type of research is quasi-experimental research, and a pre-post-test control group design is used for Self Efficacy, followed by a post-test with a control group for early mobilization. The population is post-cesarean section mothers with an average number of 78 people per month. According to the Roscoe formula, the sample was 34 people, including the intervention and control groups, 17 people each. Data analysis used paired samples t test, independent t test, and Mann-Whitney test. This research shows that preoperative educational videos are effective in increasing Self Efficacy (p-value = 0.008 and average difference = 20.36). Preoperative educational videos are effective in implementing early mobilization in mothers after cesarean section (p-value = 0.008). Conclusion: Preoperative educational videos can increase Self Efficacy and implement early mobilization.

Abstract

Caesarean section deliveries can result in a variety of consequences, so they become alternative procedures for childbirth. However, there has been an increase in caesarean section deliveries in the last three months at Dr Abdul Rivai Hospital Berau. It is necessary to know causal factors such as severe pre-eclampsia to address the high rate of caesarean section deliveries, premature rupture of membranes and history of caesarean section deliveries so future pregnant women can prevent caesarean section deliveries by overcoming the problems that occur. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with caesarean section in women giving birth. This study used an analytical survey and a retrospective design. The population was data from women giving birth at Dr Abdul Rivai Hospital Berau from June 01, 2023 to August 31, 2023, numbered 567 people. The Slovin formula obtained a sample of 235 people. Data analysis used chi-square. This study showed that 21.3% of women in labor experienced severe pre-eclampsia, 19.6% had a history of previous caesarean section, 18.3% experienced premature rupture of membranes and 52.3% of caesarean section deliveries. There was a relationship between severe pre-eclampsia and caesarean section (p = 0.001). There was a relationship between previous history of caesarean section and caesarean section (p = 0.006). There was a relationship between premature rupture of membranes and caesarean section (p = 0.043). This indicates Severe pre-eclampsia, premature rupture of membranes and history of caesarean section as factors causing caesarean section. Hospitals expect to provide counseling about maintaining good pregnancies to avoid caesarean sections for pregnant women who have regular health checks.

Abstract

Exclusive coverage of breast milk (ASI) at RSUD dr. Abdul Rivai Berau in 2021 was 62.44% and in 2022 it decreased to 46.24%, this can be caused by psychological factors experienced by postpartum mothers in the form of anxiety which inhibits the release of breast milk. To determine the relationship between anxiety levels and breast milk production in postpartum mothers at RSUD dr. Abdul Rivai Berau. This type of research is quantitative with analytical survey research and cross sectional design. The population is postpartum mothers with normal delivery at RSUD dr. Abdul Rivai Berau in September 2023 numbered 72 people, based on the Slovin formula with a sample of 42 people. The instruments used in the research were the Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale anxiety scale questionnaire which was modified from Ameliasari's (2019) research and the breast milk excretion observation sheet. Data analysis used the Chi Square test. The level of anxiety in postpartum mothers at RSUD dr. Abdul Rivai Berau mostly had mild anxiety at 17 respondents (40.5%), while 10 respondents (23.8%) had moderate anxiety. Expression of breast milk in postpartum mothers at RSUD dr. Abdul Rivai Berau mostly had abnormal breast milk production of 22 respondents (52.4%), while 20 respondents (47.6%) had normal breast milk production. There is a relationship between anxiety levels and breast milk production in postpartum mothers at RSUD dr. Abdul Rivai Berau (p value = 0.048 < α: 0.05). There is a relationship between anxiety levels and breast milk production in postpartum mothers.
