Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk meneliti mengenai perkembangan kritik sastra pada masa umayyah dan shadr islam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analitik yaitu dengan mendeskripsikan bagaimana bentuk perkembangan pada masa umayyah dan shadr islam. Sedangkan dalam pendekatan yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan historis, yang mana peneliti mencari sejarah-sejarah yang berkaitan dengan perkembangan kritik sastra pada masa umayyah dan shadr islam Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kita dapat mengetahui mengenai definisi dan pembagian kritik sastra Arab, serta mengetahui  sekilas sejarah kritikmsastra arab, perkembangan puisi dan prosa prosa pada masa umayyah dan shadr islam. Selain itu, dalam penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah informasi mengenai kritik sastra Arab prosa pada masa umayyah dan shadr islam.

Abstract

Abstract: The development of literary criticism in the Arab world has gone through a long process, where some methods also changed and developed along with the development of literary works in the Arab world. Not much different from the world of Arabic literature which has been echoed since the jahiliyah era, since that time also literary criticism began to surface. In the realm of Arabic literary criticism, classical literary criticism is the root that exerts an influence on contemporary literary criticism. The popularity of Arabic poetry became a stimulus for the birth of criticism to the point of giving birth to several figures with their own styles of criticism. This article aims to provide a glimpse into the journey of literary criticism in the contemporary period, by presenting some of the figures who struggled and were directly involved in the develoment process of contemporary literary criticism.Keywords: Contemporary, Literary, Criticism, Arabic

Abstract

The psychological condition of each country experiencing an epidemic in every era is certainly different. This paper describes the psychological condition in the poem "al-Kūlīra" by Nāzik al-Malāikah and the poem "Lockdown" by Simon Armitage. Both poems depict the pandemic situation in two different countries. The poem "al-Kūlīra" portrays the Cholera outbreak in Egypt, while the poem "Lockdown" is based on the Corona pandemic. The psychological theory used is Ary Ginanjar's emotional spiritual quotient. The study begins by analyzing each psychological dimension of the two poems and then comparing them. The purpose of this study is to determine and compare the psychological condition in the form of emotional spiritual quotient (ESQ) in communities affected by the corona and cholera pandemics. The methods used are descriptive, comparative, and qualitative, with a psychological approach. The data presented include every word, phrase, clause, and sentence that contains psychological elements from the poems "al-Kūlīra" and "Lockdown". The results of the study show that ESQ in the poem "al-Kūlīra" takes the form of the main virtues of honesty, empathy, and cooperation, while in the poem "Lockdown" ESQ is in the form of visionary, namely the ability to overcome the pandemic problem, as well as honesty, empathy, and cooperation. Abstrak Kondisi psikologis dari setiap negara yang mengalami wabah di setiap zaman pasti berbeda. Tulisan ini memaparkan kondisi psikologis pada puisi “al-Kūlīra” karya Nāzik al-Malāikah dan puisi “Lockdown” karya Simon Armitage. Kedua puisi ini berisi tentang situasi pandemi di dua negara yang berbeda. Puisi “al-Kūlīra” menceritakan wabah Kolera di Mesir, puisi “Lockdown” latar belakang penciptaanya adalah pandemi Korona. Teori psikologis yang digunakan adalah emotional spiritual quotient milik Ary Ginanjar. Kajian dimulai dengan menganalisis setiap dimensi psikologis dari kedua puisi tersebut untuk kemudian dibandingkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui dan membandingkan kondisi psikologis berupa emotional spiritual quotient (ESQ) pada masyarakat yang terdampak pandemi corona dan kolera. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif, komparatif, dan kualitatif dengan pendekatan psikologis. Data yang dipaparkan adalah setiap kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat yang mengandung unsur psikologis dari puisi “al-Kūlīra” dan “Lockdown”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ESQ pada puisi “al-Kūlīra” berupa budi utama kejujuran, empati dan kerja sama, sedangkan puisi “Lockdown” ESQ berupa visioner yaitu kemampuan untuk keluar dari masalah pandemi, kejujuran, empati, dan kerja sama.

Abstract

تشتمل الرواية الجيدة على عناصر أساسية وهي الشخصيات، الأحداث، الحبكة، الزمان والمكان. ويمتاز لكل عنصر مقومات تفيد غرضا من أغراض الرواية. يهدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة مدى أهمية المكان في بناء الرواية، فقد كانت الرواية تحتوي على عناصر لا يستغني عنها مؤلف الرواية. ومن بين عناصرها ما يقال في علم السردي بالزمكان وهو الزمان والمكان. إلا أن الجانب المكاني لم يعط له الاهتمام عند أكثر الباحثين لأنه بمثابة الزوائد في مجال الرواية. يستخدم الباحثون في هذا البحث المنهج الوصفي في معالجة قضايا السردية حتى يتمكن الباحثون من اكتشاف ظواهرها. ومما يتوصل إليه الباحثون في هذا البحث أن تجلي وظيفة المكان عند توظيف الراوي الأماكن في ثنايا السرد لأغراض شتى بما يدعم الراوي لتفعيل حيوية الرواية Abstract A good novel comprises essential elements such as characters, events, plot, time, and setting. Each of these elements has its components that serve the novel's purpose. This article aims to determine the significance of the setting in novel construction. The novel inherently contains elements indispensable to the author. Among these elements, the concept of "zamakan" in narratology, which refers to time and setting, is pivotal. However, the spatial aspect has not received significant attention from many researchers, often being regarded as supplementary in the context of the novel. This study employs a descriptive method to address narratological issues, enabling researchers to uncover various phenomena. The findings indicate that the function of setting becomes evident when the narrator employs locations within the narrative for various purposes, thereby enhancing the vitality of the novel.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the influence of the Western romanticism movement on the psychological style developed by Maḥmūd ‘Abbās al-‘Aqqād in assessing and understanding Arabic literary works in the modern era. This research is library research using the analytical-descriptive method. The result of this study shows that the psychological trend of al-‘Aqqād’s criticism is strongly influenced by the romanticism movement. Romanticism is a revolutionary movement in the artistic, literary, and intellectual fields that emerged in Europe as a form of resistance to the conditions around the 18th century. This movement emphasizes the individuality aspect to highlight the liberation of feelings and emotions. This aspect of individuality then became the basis of al-‘Aqqād’s criticism in assessing literary works which, according to him, were full of individual personalities. Thus, the psychological trend in Arabic literary criticism developed by al-‘Aqqād cannot be separated from the immense influence of the romanticism movement that emerged in the West. The results of this study increasingly show the significance of the West's role in the development of Arabic literary criticism in the modern era.

Abstract

This research aims to review literary criticism during the Umayyad period and look at who the critics were during the Umayyad period. As explained regarding Arabic literary criticism in the Hijaz, Iraq and Sham regions. The Umayyad dynasty was named after Umayyah bin Shams, one of the leaders of the Quraysh tribe known as Banu Umayyah. in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, by describing how the influence of the critic's perspective on the development of Arabic literary criticism in the Umayyad era. The results of the research of famous critics in the Hijaz region are Ibn Abi Atieq and Sukainah bint al Husein. Ibn Abi Atieq's Criticism Criteria: Good poetry is poetry whose meaning is subtle, good introduction, easy to pronounce, easy to understand, and easy to express. While Sukainah Binti Al Hussein bin Abi Talib criticized the literary works of poetry, one of which examined the text of the poem and examined the image of women painted by the poet. In the Iraq region, the comparison between al Akhtal, Jarir and al Farazdaq, that Jarir took from the sea, al Farazdaq carved from stone. While the most important Levant is Madh (praise). In the Levant the famous critics of the Levant are Kusair Azza and al Akhtal. Criticism came in the form of formal criticism and artistic criticism.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the development of contemporary Arabic literary genre called Qişşah Qaşīrah Jiddan (QQJ), by revealing its characteristics, its components, and the factors that influence its emergence. This research fills the gap in the study of QQJ, in terms of both theory and application, despite the fact that it has existed among classic genres. To fulfill its objectives, this research uses descriptive analysis by examining the production of the literary works, its existence, its role and social reality. To explore the connection between QQJ and the social reality that surrounds it, this research applies qualitative methods by studying the documents that focus on contextual analysis of written materials. Based on the analysis, this study found that the emergence of the QQJ genre in the repertoire of contemporary Arabic literature is a response to the demands and needs of this fast-paced technological era which requires something practical and pragmatic. Though this narrative genre stems from short story, it is neither an advancement of a short story, nor the development of its branches or the incarnation of the old Arabic literary genre. Instead, it is an autonomous genre that adopts a variety of things in its development, especially aspects underlying postmodernity such as being practical, dynamic, and digital.

Abstract

Poetry serves as a medium to express the profound relationship between humans and God through mystical traditions. “Tarjumān al-‘Asywāq” by Ibnu Arabi and “Perjalanan ke Langit” by Kuntowijoyo represent the spiritual journey of a servant towards God, a spiritual journey that is full of sufistic values. This research aims to reveal the thoughts of Ibnu Arabi and Kuntowijoyo in the sufistic concept and to reveal the sufistic value of the poem “Tarjumān al-‘Asywāq” by Ibnu Arabi and the poem “Perjalanan ke Langit” by Kuntowijoyo. This research is a comparative research because it compares the sufistic values in the poem “Tarjumān al-‘Asywāq” by Ibnu Arabi and the poem “Perjalanan ke Langit” by Kuntowijoyo. Data collection techniques involving observation and note-taking. The data analysis is comparative analysis and uses a sufism approach. The poem “Tarjumān al-‘Asywāq” is a classical poem using Arabic and the poem “Perjalanan ke langit” is a modern poem using Indonesian. Despite their differences background, languages, countries, and eras, both poems affirm that the spiritual journey can transcend geographical and cultural boundaries, both poems convey universal messages about the search for divine meaning and and the relationship between humans and God.Keywords – Arabic Poetry, Indonesian Poetry, Mysticism, Sufi Values.

Abstract

Nizar Qabbani and Chairil Anwar as modern poets of different nationalities, wrote many love poems. Although they write with the same theme, the views, conventions, or poetic traditions of Arab society and Indonesian society tend to be different. Based on that, this research aims to reveal the differences and similarities in the meaning of love in the poems “Yaumiyat Rajulin Mahzumin” and “`Ala `Ainaiki Yudabitu al-`Alam Sa`atihi” collected in the poetry anthology al-A`mal ash-Syi`riyah al-Kamilah by Nizar Qabbani, as well as the poems “Sajak Putih” and “Kabar dari Laut” collected in the poetry anthology Aku Ini Binatang Jalang by Chairil Anwar. This research uses the study of Thematic Parallelism in comparative literature that highlights the similarities and contrasts of themes, motifs, and main ideas between two or more works of poetry from different cultural contexts, periods, or languages. In interpreting the four poems above, the method used is Riffaterre's semiotics which consists of Heuristic reading and Hermeneutic reading. The results showed that there are similarities in the views of Nizar Qabbani and Chairil Anwar regarding the meaning of love, loyalty and sincerity, while the difference lies in Nizar Qabbani's pessimistic and Chairil Anwar's optimistic tendencies in viewing love.

Abstract

Kritik sastra Arab pada masa sadr Islam memiliki peran-peran penting dalam mengkritik karya sastra pada saat itu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengupas bagaimana peran-peran kritik sastra Arab pada masa sadr Islam, beserta prinsip-prinsip dan karakteristiknya. Penelitian kepustakaan dan kualitatif ini bersumber dari buku-buku dan artikel jurnal yang berkaitan dengan kritik sastra Arab masa sadr Islam. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode simak dan teknik baca dan catat. Data yang sudah dikumpulkan juga menggunakan metode terjemah bebas pada sumber yang berbahasa asing. Peneliti menemukan prinsip-prinsip kritik sastra Arab pada masa sadr Islam, di antaranya kaitan dengan nilai-nilai moral dan etika, pembahasan makna mendalam, penghormatan terhadap warisan sastra, fokus pada karya-karya sastra unggulan. Sementara karakteristiknya, di antaranya orientasi keagamaan, perhatian terhadap etika dan moralitas, perhatian terhadap karya-karya klasik, penekanan pada tujuan pendidikan dan moral, kritiknya lebih fokus pada penyair daripada puisi, mengkritik penyair, serta kritik sebagian besar terfokus pada makna dan kedekatan terhadap agama dan moral, namun tidak fokus pada diksi dan strukturnya. Adapun Peran-peran kritik sastra sadr Islam di antaranya, perluasan wilayah kritik pada nilai-nilai Islam dan moral, menetapkan realisme kritik pada masa sadr Islam, dan mengkategorisasi para penyair yang sezaman dengan Rasulullah.
