Introduction: Febrile seizures are a common condition in children that can cause concern for parents and healthcare professionals. Fever seizures are the brain's response to rapidly rising body temperature. In some cases, febrile seizures can cause a child's body temperature to rise dramatically, increasing the risk of complications. Nursing interventions in febrile seizures are crucial to manage symptoms and prevent complications that may arise. One intervention that can be applied is the use of tepid water sponge. This study aims to implement nursing care in children with a history of febrile seizures. Methods: This study used a case study design with a nursing approach. Study subjects were children with febrile seizures. Data collection uses a pediatric Nursing Care format which includes Assessment, Diagnosis, Intervention, Implementation, and Nursing Evaluation.  Results: Based on the assessment, the patient appeared limp, the skin was palpated warm with a body temperature of 37.9'C, nursing diagnoses of Hyperthermia, Risk of Injury, Nausea. Planning and implementation are giving tepid water sponge, evaluation shows a decrease in temperature in children. Conclusion: The problem is resolved characterized by a decrease in fever in children and preventing the risks that will occur in pediatric clients with a history of febrile seizures. It is hoped that health workers can improve nursing skills in providing nursing care to pediatric clients with a history of febrile seizures.

Abstract

Infants and children also need sufficient stimulation in quantity and quality from the beginning for their psychosocial mental development. Children who get a lot of stimulation will develop faster than children who get less or even no stimulation. Delays in child development can also be caused by the child's lack of stimulation, caregivers, and parents. Partner problems at this time are health problems. This problem arises because no social institutions have been formed or helped prevent delays in the growth and development of toddlers and the low participation of the community. This low coverage impacts health problems that result in toddlers not fulfilling their growth and development tasks. After discussions with partners and the proposing team, a solution was found to overcome these problems: the stimulation of growth and development through women's empowerment formed through a stimulation group. The counseling results showed that partners' knowledge about growth and development stimulation was in a good category (86%). The training results showed that partners' knowledge about KPSP was in a good category (82%). Stimulation of growth and development should be carried out continuously and appropriately so that it can improve children's abilities in terms of language, social, gross and fine motor skills.

This potential will be realized so that youngsters can reach their full potential. As a result, proper conditions or instruction are required for a child's growth. Various developmental difficulties in children, such as motor delays, language, behavior, autism, and hyperactivity, have been on the rise in recent years. As a result, for children's growth and development, adequate conditions or education are required. The goal of this study was to see how colouring affects children's fine motor development when they are in preschool. The total number of students in this study was 32. In this study, the researchers employed a Quasi Experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The entire sampling strategy was employed in this investigation. There were as many as 32 responders in the sample. The Wilcoxon test yielded p-values of 0.001 and 0.083 in the data analysis. The findings of data analysis utilizing the Mann-Whitney test, namely a p-value of 0.000 < (0.05), indicate that Ho is not significant. This shows that colouring stimulation influences the fine motor development of preschool children in this study.

Abstract

Stunting in children is a major global issue, especially in rural agricultural areas of Indonesia. Despite ongoing efforts to eliminate stunting, its prevalence remains high, adversely affecting children's cognitive and physical development. This study aimed to determine the factors influencing the nutritional status of stunted children in Indonesia’s agricultural districts. A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted in Jember District, Indonesia, involving 236 malnourished children aged 0 to 59 months. Using stratified random sampling, structured questionnaires were utilized to collect data on family functioning, child feeding attitudes, and practices. The results are Family Function (B=0.038; 95% CI= 0,535 – 1,658, p value= 0.047); Child Feeding Attitude (B=0.030; 95% CI= 0,882 – 1,681, p value= 0.023); and Child Feeding Practice (B=0.120; 95% CI= 0,686 – 1,971, p value= 0.000). There were significant correlations between family function (p value= 0.047), child-feeding attitudes (p value= 0.023), and child-feeding practice (p value= 0.000) with children's nutritional status. This study highlighted a significant relationship among family function, child-feeding attitude, and practices concerning the nutritional status of children experiencing stunting. It emphasizes the importance of improving family function and supporting healthy child-feeding practices. Targeted interventions based on local cultural understanding are critical for effectively reducing stunting.

Abstract

Low birth weight babies (LBW) in agricultural and coastal areas have different health problems thus possibly having different care needs. Inappropriate promotion of child health, especially LBW, in both clinical and community service settings can increase morbidity and mortality rates. The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of LBW babies care needs based on family perspectives in coastal and agricultural areas. This cross-sectional observational study was conducted in June 2023 using a questionnaire to identify the determinants of LBW’s babies care. The population of this study was children and mothers in coastal and agricultural areas. Multistage random cluster sampling with the G*Power application obtained 193 participants per region, resulting in a total sample of 386. Data were analyzed using difference in means between two regions. The results showed that agricultural regions had higher mean on LBW care, parental stress, and family empowerment. Coastal areas had higher mean scores on quality of life, maternal confidence, and food diversity practices. There was a significant difference between coastal and agricultural areas on the determinants of LBW’babies care between coastal and agricultural areas, especially on the variables of parental quality of life (p=0.000), parenting stress (p=0.029), maternal confidence (p-0.000) and family empowerment (p = 0.000). Optimizing health promotion by pediatric nurses in the scope of hospital and community settings can be achieved by empowering families and paying attention to parenting stress, maternal confidence, and parents' quality of life.
