Abstract

Intercultural communication disseminated on Instagram extends beyond visual content, encompassing culturally rich symbols that convey deep meanings. Despite its significance, this phenomenon has received limited scholarly attention. This study addresses this gap by examining intercultural communication practices on Instagram, focusing on language, culinary traditions, and performing arts content. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach, the research explores how cultural elements are shared and represented through social media. The findings identify three primary contexts: (1) the use of native languages to introduce linguistic and cultural diversity; (2) the dissemination of traditional culinary content to reinforce cultural identity; and (3) the learning and sharing of traditional dance via Instagram as a strategy for preserving cultural heritage. These insights highlight Instagram’s role as an active, dynamic, and educational space for intercultural communication.

Abstract

In the accelerating shift towards renewable energy, a phenomenon termed 'greenflation' is emerging as a critical factor influencing global economic policies. This paper delves into the concept of greenflation, characterized by the inflationary pressures stemming from the transition to green energy sources. Through a comprehensive literature review, we analyze the multifaceted impact of greenflation on sustainable economic policies. We explore the dynamics between the increasing demand for renewable energy resources and the corresponding rise in their prices, considering the implications for both developed and developing economies. The paper also examines how greenflation challenges traditional economic models and necessitates the formulation of innovative policy frameworks that balance environmental sustainability with economic stability. By synthesizing existing research, this study aims to provide a nuanced understanding of greenflation and its implications, paving the way for informed policy-making in the era of energy transition.

Abstract

There are numerous ways for the younger generation to participate in politics, but there are evidence that they are unwilling to join (anti-politics). This study tries to expose two things: (1) the causes of this trend, and (2) remedies to support smooth political circulation in Indonesia as a democratic country. This study accomplishes this purpose by employing Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). Data acquired from the controversial documentary Sexy Killer's netnography on YouTube. This study highlights several significant findings, particularly the ambivalence and conflict between reality and ideals in today's youth and society. They are skeptical of the earnestness and dedication of government leaders elected through a democratic political process. At the same time, people expect government personnel to carry out their responsibilities. The implications of this study's findings are a criticism of the political education model, which has so far prioritized practical factors above theoretical aspects (content, composition, and proportion).

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Regional School Operational Assistance Program (RSOAP) on non-permanent teachers (NPT) in junior high schools across Sekadau Rege ncy. The research explores psychological, work environment, economic, and social aspects affecting non-permanent teachers. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with NPTs at Public Junior High School 1 Sekadau Hilir, the school principal, an allowance officer from the Education Department, and the drafter of the Regent’s RSOAP regulation. Psychologically, many NPTs experience anxiety regarding their employment status and irregular fund disbursement, NPTs are treated equally to civil servant teachers, enjoying harmonious relationships and full participation in school activities. Economically, however, GTTs face significant challenges, including incomes below the regional minimum wage and the absence of fixed allowances, leading some to take on secondary jobs. While RSOAP is appreciated, its financial support remains insufficient to ensure economic security. Socially, recognition of professional status is viewed as secondary to financial stability, with most NPTs remaining hopeful for future civil servant status. The study concludes that while RSOAP has had a positive influence, it falls short in addressing key concerns, particularly economic hardship and employment status
