Abstract

During economic uncertainty following the COVID-19 pandemic, social assistance is vital for alleviating the economic burden on the poor and vulnerable to poverty, particularly those residing in island-based areas. The research aims to measure the performance of social assistance programs in the regional economy of the North Maluku Archipelago Province. The study employs Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) to measure efficiency values, with input variables including social aid, unemployment, and inflation, while the output variable is poverty. The results reveal that social assistance is ineffective in reducing poverty. Several obstacles, including the minimal budget allocation, inaccuracies in identifying assistance recipients, and insufficient time for aid distribution are identified as primary causes of the inefficiency of social aid programs. Updating poverty data into one unified and integrated dataset is essential for the efficiency distribution of social assistance. Accurate targeting and timely distribution are the keys to the effectiveness of social assistance programs in reducing poverty.

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how profit margins and third party funding affect Murabahah contract financing (BPRS Bahari Berkesan, Ternate City). This study is quantitative. Secondary data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) website, especially the Triulan financial report of BPRS Bahari Ternate, is used as a data source. Multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 26 software is the data analysis method used. The findings of the study revealed that (1) The growth of Murabahah contracts at BPRS Bahari Berkesan, Ternate City is greatly influenced by third party funds. (2) The findings of this study indicate that the profit margin variable has a significant effect on the financing of murabahah contracts, because the results of the hypothesis test indicate that the calculation value of the profit margin variable > t table (4.902 > 2.262) and the level of significance is < 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). (3) further indicated by the significant probability value of 0.000, which is < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). This indicates that the financing of murabahah contracts with the BPRS Bahari Berkesan Ternate City Exchange Rate is greatly influenced by both the profit margin and DPK simultaneously.

Abstract

The shift in economic structure has implications for food conditions and the food-producing sector, namely the agricultural sector. Therefore, this study aims to obtain a macro picture of food conditions, identify food availability and leading food commodities, and analyse the linkages and impacts of the food-producing sector in the economy. The analysis used descriptive approach, Location Quotient method and Input-Output model. The results of the analysis found that food conditions, especially food availability, experienced a drastic decline along with the decline in the role of the agricultural sector. However, it was identified that North Maluku has the potential for food availability and superior food commodities that can be developed in the form of superior food sweet potatoes, cassava, beans, vegetables and fruits. Furthermore, it is measured that food-producing sub-sectors have a much higher level of forward linkages and dispersion sensitivity, as well as the ability of the food-producing sector to create output multipliers, added value and income for the total economy. Both the food potential and input-output characteristics of the food sector are important measures in growing the food-producing agricultural sector. For this reason, policies that can be recommended through this research are balanced economic sector development models, especially ensuring their linkages with the agricultural sector, such as prioritising the development of the food processing industry sector. In addition, policy and financing support in the form of investment directives in the food sector are indispensable in the process.

Abstract

Investigating structural relations between sectors is important from a policy point of view. A clear perspective on cross-sectoral relations can be useful in formulating profitable and appropriate development strategies. This study compares Agricultural Demand Led Industrialization (ADLI) and Export-Led Industrialization (ELI) strategies. In making a comparison, the two strategies are used; multiplier matrix that describes the impact on endogenous variables due to changes in exogenous variables. Impact analysis with a simulation of the investment amount to see the impact on the formation of output, creation of gross value added, absorption of labor, income, and taxes. Cluster analysis aims to classify objects based on the characteristics of the observed object. The One Way Anova test is useful to determine whether there are differences in the investment simulation of each category, ADLI and ELI. The results of this study indicate that the sectors in the ADLI category have advantages in creating gross added value. In contrast, the sectors in the ELI category have advantages in creating output, income, taxes and employment. Furthermore, using the One-Way ANOVA test, it can be concluded that statistically, there is no average difference between ADLI and ELI in the output, labor, income, and tax variables.
