Abstract

The main factor causing anemia is a lack of iron intake. Lack of consuming protein can result in delays in the transportation of substances, which can cause iron deficiency. The World Health Organization (World Health Organization 2020) states that the prevalence of pregnant women worldwide who experience anemia is 41.8%. Anemia in pregnancy can have a negative impact on maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women towards the incidence of anemia at the Simpang Tiga Inpatient Health Center in 2023. This research was conducted in August. This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach. The population is all pregnant women who have checked their pregnancies at the Simpang Tiga Inpatient Health Center in the last 3 months. The sampling technique is total sampling with a total sample of 59 people. The results showed a p value = 0.266 which indicated that there was no relationship between knowledge and the incidence of anemia, and a value of p = 0.906 which indicated that there was no relationship between attitude and the incidence of anemia. It is recommended that pregnant women be more active in digging up information about anemia in pregnancy so that pregnant women are healthier and avoid anemia. Keywords: Knowledge, attitude, Anemia, pregnant women

Abstract

Abstract: Anemia is a condition when the number of red blood cells is lower than the normal number. Every day 830 mothers worldwide (38 women in Indonesia, based on AKI 305) die from diseases related to pregnancy and childbirth. The incidence of anemia in pregnant women in Riau Province increased in 2022 (35%), 2021 (15%), 2020 (45%), 2019 (39%).The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the knowledge of pregnant women and the incidence of anemia at the Payung Sekaki Health Center in Pekanbaru. This study is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The research was carried out at the Payung Sekaki Health Center in Pekanbaru, conducted in March-August 2024 with a sample of 68 respondents. The results showed that 5 people (7.4%) had good knowledge, 13 people (19.1%) had sufficient knowledge and 50 people (73.5%) had poor knowledge. Respondents who experienced anemia amounted to 43 people (63.2%) and did not experience anemia amounted to 25 people (36.8%). The results of the Chi-Square Test obtained P value = 0.000 < 0.05 indicating a relationship between the knowledge of pregnant women and the incidence of anemia. It is recommended that pregnant women be more active in exploring information about the incidence of anemia in pregnancy and also know how to prevent it so that pregnant women stay healthy and avoid anemia. Abstract

Stunting is a child growth disorder characterized by a child's lack of height compared to children his age. Morbidity and mortality rates, decreased growth, learning achievement, increased risk of infectious and non-communicable diseases, and decreased productivity are all effects of stunting. This research aimed to find predisposing factors that contribute to stunting preventing behaviors. This research focused on the working area of Sidomulyo Inpatient Health Center. The research design was cross-sectional, with 95 mother subjects. The measurement used a questionnaire. Research results from bivariate analysis using chi square analysis showed that there was a correlation between age (p-value 0.022), occupation (p-value 0.024), education (p-value 0.000), and knowledge (p-value 0.015) with the level of stunting. It is recommended to the community and families who will have children under five that the mother's age, occupation, education and knowledge influence their behavior in preventing stunting. Health workers can provide counseling or education about predisposing factors related to stunting prevention behavior to their patients.

In the Pretest Intervention group, the average (11.13) and after breast treatment increased to (12.25) and a p value of 0.000 was obtained. Meanwhile, in the Pretest (11.00) and Post test (11.44) control groups, a p value of 0.008 was obtained. The results of the study using the Wilcoxon test obtained a p value < 0.05. The results of this study show that there is an effect of breast care on the smooth flow of breastfeeding in postpartum mothers in the working area of the Sidomulyo Inpatient Health Center.
