Abstract

In the Regional Elections and Presidential Elections, each party implements various political communication branding strategies in order to increase its popularity among voters in order to get the most votes. Not to forget, the NasDem Party also did branding in the regional elections in Bandung in an effort to achieve victory. This study aims to further examine the communication strategy of NasDem political party branding to achieve victory in the regional elections in the city of Bandung. Using the case study method, there are important notes from the results of this study, namely: NasDem Political Parties use several political communication branding strategies in order to intensively increase the popularity of parties and candidates in the eyes of voters, ranging from publications on various social media platforms, political party ambassadors, socialization and promotion of parties or candidates by party insiders, Building party narratives that contribute positively to development and be inclusive for all, politics without dowry, slogans and taglines "beberes Bandung", parties of all circles, and canvassing to visit various levels of society to get closer.

Abstract

This study discusses political communication in the digital era, focusing on the role of social media in shaping public opinion. The development of information technology has changed the patterns of political interaction, where social media has become a primary channel for political actors to convey messages, build images, and mobilize support in the 2024 Presidential Election. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method and observation of political communication phenomena across various social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. The findings of this study show that social media plays a significant role in shaping public opinion during the 2024 Presidential Election. Social media facilitates two-way communication between candidates and voters, expands political participation, and provides quicker and more efficient access to political information. However, this study also identifies major challenges related to the spread of misinformation and political polarization, which can affect voter perceptions and exacerbate tensions in society. Overall, although social media offers advantages in terms of cost efficiency and audience reach, its use needs to be balanced with responsibility to ensure that the information disseminated is accurate and not misleading.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi lingkungan yang dilakukan kampung Cibunut Berwarna Kota Bandung dalam penanganan sampah., dalam hal ini yaitu untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi mengenal khalayak, menyusun pesan, menetapkan metode, dan seleksi dan penggunaan media yang dilakukan kampung cibunut dalam penanganan sampah. Cibunut Berwarna dikenal sebagai kampung perkotaan yang menjadi Kawasan percontohan Bebas Sampah di Kota Bandung dengan mengusung konsep Kampung Berwarna yang disimbolkan melalui mural tentang pesan-pesan lingkungan dan tematik lainnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dan diperoleh gambaran bahwa dalam kegiatan strategi komunikasi lingkungan yang dilakukan di kampung cibunut yaitu dengan memahami karakteristik masyarakat, adanya peran fasilitator atau pegiat lingkungan, adanya mural atau gambar mengenai kegiatan penanganan sampah, adanya unsur persuasif dan edukatif untuk mengajak masyarakat melalui “door to door education”, senam pagi, dan adanya media tatap muka serta media  informasi dan komunikasi melalui whatsapps grup sebagai wadah informasi dan juga publikasi pemberitaan yang masif di media massa online tentang metamorfosis perubahan dari kawasan Kumuh menjadi kampung kreatif sebagai kawasan edukasi lingkungan yang konsisten menjalankan pemilahan dan penanganan sampah di kampung  Cibunut Berwarna Kota Bandung.

Abstract

The 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) in Indonesia marks a new chapter in the dynamics of political communication, which is increasingly shifting into the digital realm. Social media has become not only a campaign tool but also an arena for an intense and systematic battle over political narratives. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon referred to as a media political coup, namely the domination and control of digital space by political actors through structured communication strategies, and to evaluate the legal regulations governing freedom of speech on digital platforms. Using a qualitative social research method, this study examines how digital communication strategies are implemented in political contests and how policies such as the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) and regulations issued by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) affect citizens’ freedom of expression. The results show that the digital space during the 2024 Presidential Election has become a central arena for shaping public opinion through intensive and structured strategies employed by political actors. The massive use of social media, digital algorithms, and buzzer networks has led to the dominance of certain narratives, even to the point of displacing critical opposing discourses. In addition, the misuse of ambiguously interpreted articles within the UU ITE to silence criticism and restrict freedom of expression has had a negative impact on the quality of democracy. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen digital literacy among the public and update regulations to ensure that democracy in the digital era is maintained fairly and transparently
