The novel "Kunarpa Tan Bisa Kandha" by Suparto Brata is a Handaka detective series novel. This research is motivated by the uniqueness of the novel including a storyline full of surprises, a detective's adventure in uncovering a case, and the psychological condition of the characters. The purpose of this study is to describe the dramatic plot in the novel and analyze the characters' characters, this study uses a descriptive method whose data is in the form of dialogue quotes or sentences in the novel, with an objective approach and Robert Stanton's structuralism theory of plot. The results of this study indicate that the novel that is the object of research has a dramatic plot consisting of exposition showing the background of the story, complications of the emergence of problems, climax of the peak point of conflict, resolution of problem solving, and conclusion of the final conclusion of the story. Then, the characters involved in the case of revealing the mystery of the murder of the characters have calm, meticulous, obedient, tough, open, quiet, shy, polite, vengeful, and mysterious characters.Keywords: dramatic; character; structuralism; figureAbstrakNovel “Kunarpa Tan Bisa Kandha” karya Suparto Brata merupakan novel serial detektif Handaka. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena adanya keunikan novel tersebut meliputi alur cerita yang penuh kejutan, petualangan detektif dalam mengungkap sebuah kasus, dan kondisi psikologis tokoh. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan alur dramatik dalam novel dan menganalisis karakter tokoh, penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif yang datanya berupa kutipan dialog atau kalimat dalam novel tersebut, dengan tujuan pendek dan teori strukturalisme alur Robert Stanton. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa novel yang menjadi objek penelitian memiliki alur dramatik yang terdiri atas eksposisi yang menunjukkan latar belakang cerita, komplikasi munculnya masalah, klimaks titik puncak konflik, resolusi penyelesaian masalah, dan konklusi kesimpulan akhir cerita. Kemudian, tokoh yang terlibat dalam kasus mengungkap misteri pembunuhan para tokoh memiliki karakter tenang, teliti, penurut, keras, terbuka, pendiam, pemalu, sopan, pendendam, dan misterius.Kata kunci : dramatik; karakter; strukturalisme; tokoh

This article examines the social dilemmas that emerge in the Javanese short film Weweh, produced by Sanggar Ori Gunung Kidul, using the perspective of literary sociology through Pierre Bourdieu's theory, especially the concepts of habitus, capital, arena, and symbolic violence. This study aims to identify the social dilemmas in the short film Weweh and the factors that cause them. The data analysis method in this study uses the semiotic method to interpret the signs and interpret them through hermeneutics. The results of the analysis show that there are two primary forms of social dilemmas, namely unrequited kindness and unfulfilled social expectations. Meanwhile, the factors that cause social dilemmas include economic inability, social disorganization, and moral dilemmas. These findings illustrate how social structures and individual positions in the social arena influence the experience of social dilemmas and how symbolic violence reinforces the tensions that occur. Thus, the film Weweh reflects the complexity of social relations and societal power dynamics.

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi aspek psikologi yang digambarkan oleh tokoh bernama Nuryati dalam novel Riviera karya Sitta M Zein. Studi ini berdokus pada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tokoh Nuryati sehingga berusaha mencapai superioritas dan bentuk usaha tokoh Nuryati dalam mencapai superioritas. Nuryati memiliki masa lalu yang penuh tantangan dan hambatan. Riviera, anak Nuryati, memiliki impian untuk dapat berkuliah di perguruan tinggi negeri. Realitas kehidupan dengan mimpinya cukup bertolak belakang sehingga tak jarang membuat Riviera maupun sang ibu merasa rendah diri. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah faktor-faktor untuk mencapai superioritas dan bentuk usaha dalam mencapai superioritas, sesuai dengan teori psikologi Alfred Adler. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif dengan data berupa kata, frasa, kalimat, atau paragraf dari novel Riviera sebagai sumber datanya. Teknik untuk mengumpulkan data menggunakan simak catat. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis heuristik dan hermeneutik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor yang mempengaruhi tokoh Nuryati mencapai superioritas karena perasaan malu, pesismisme, dan dinaika keluarga. Adapun bentuk usaha tokoh Nuryati mencapai superioritas yaitu tujuan akhir, daya juang, serta perjuangan meraih superioritas pribadi dan bersama.

This article discusses social cognition in the Kompas Daily editorial using Teun A van Dijk's theoretical framework. Social cognition, as the central concept in this theory, refers to how individuals process, store, and use social information in various forms of communication. This research explores how Kompas daily editorials utilize the principles of social cognition in forming public opinions and views. This study uses the content analysis method to analyze the Kompas daily editorial "Listen to the Voice of the People", published on October 6, 2020. The results of the analysis show that there are social cognitive patterns that emerge in word choice, framing and editorial argumentation structure. Within the theoretical framework of Teun A van Dijk, this article explores how these editorials build social representations, manipulate collective cognition, and influence the process of people's understanding of specific issues. The findings from this research provide new insights regarding the use of social cognition in the context of mass media, especially daily editorials. The implications of the results of this research help further understanding of how mass media can play an essential role in shaping people's perceptions and attitudes towards social and political issues. This article also strengthens the argument that journalism is increasingly needed to build public awareness of policies.
