Abstract

Kajian ini membahas tentang kegiatan Upskilling guru matematika di Kuttab Nurul Wahyain dalam upaya peningkatan keterampilan mengajar operasi perkalian. Dalam era digital yang terus berkembang, guru perlu terus meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran mereka. Operasi perkalian merupakan konsep matematika yang penting untuk mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan matematika yang lebih kompleks di masa depan. Kegiatan Upskilling yang inovatif telah diterapkan untuk memperkuat kemampuan guru matematika dalam mengajar operasi perkalian. 31 guru yang bukan dari latar belakang pendidikan matematika dilibatkan dalam program pelatihan yang meliputi metode pengajaran inovatif, diskusi kolaboratif, dan praktik. Melalui Upskilling ini, para guru dapat mengembangkan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang operasi perkalian dan keterampilan dalam merancang aktivitas pembelajaran yang efektif khususnya dalam menggunakan jarimatika. Dampaknya signifikan, dengan guru yang lebih percaya diri, mampu mengatasi kesulitan siswa, dan mampu mengajarkan operasi perkalian dengan jarimatika. Upaya ini merupakan langkah penting untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan yang lebih tinggi dan mempersiapkan siswa untuk sukses di dunia yang semakin kompleks. Kesimpulannya, kegiatan Upskilling guru matematika menjadi faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar operasi perkalian dan memberikan pendidikan matematika yang berkualitas tinggi kepada siswa.

Abstract

Tenaga pendidik berperan dalam mengembangkan potensi siswa di sekolah. Fakta dilapangan menunjukkan kemampuan penguasaan guru terhadap materi standar profesional masih relatih rendah, sehingga diperlukan strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatan kapasitas pribadi tenaga pendidik. Pelatihan ini berfokus pada peningkatan kapasitas tenaga pendidik di Sekolah Islam Athirah untuk mengembangkan potensi siswa melalui strategi coaching. Strategi coaching berfokus pada target spesifik melalui percakapan dan observasi secara langsung. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan secara luring selama 3 batch yang melibatkan tenaga pendidik Sekolah Islam Athirah di beberapa wilayah, yaitu Athirah Kajolalido, Athirah Baruga dan Athirah Bone. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan 3 tahap, yakni tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan observasi. Kegiatan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan melalui strategi coaching bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran, meningkatkan motivasi dan percaya diri, serta dapat meningkatkan kolaborasi antarguru. Strategi coaching memberikan manfaat untuk tenaga pendidik dalam meningkatkan kapasitas pribadi dan memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan siswa dan proses pembelajaran di sekolah

Abstract

The conflict between students and parents in choosing an academic major is a common phenomenon, especially in collectivist cultures where family expectations significantly influence educational decisions. This study aims to explore various psychology-based career counseling approaches to bridge the perspective gap between students and parents. Using a literature review method, this research analyzes different theories, such as Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), Career Construction Theory (CCT), Adolescent-Parent Career Congruence (APCC), and Self-Determination Theory (SDT), in the context of academic decision-making. The findings indicate that alignment between students' aspirations and parental expectations can be achieved through exploratory support rather than coercive approaches. Furthermore, counseling models that provide space for students to develop autonomy in decision-making have been proven to enhance their career readiness and satisfaction. This study recommends implementing counseling strategies that facilitate effective communication between students and parents, as well as incorporating more adaptive psychological approaches in career guidance programs in schools.

Abstract

Pernikahan anak, yang merupakan praktik dimana anak-anak di bawah usia dewasa dipaksa untuk menikah adalah fenomena yang terjadi di berbagai belahan dunia tak terkecuali di Sulawesi selatan, menggali lebih dalam dampak negatif yang mungkin timbul, bagi guru bimbingan konseling untuk mensosialisasikan bahaya pernikahan anak dan yang lebih penting sebagai bahan edukasi juga preventif terhadap generasi muda, siswa dan juga mahasiswa. Dengan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mendorong pernikahan anak, termasuk tekanan budaya dan ekonomi, serta konsekuensi psikologis dan sosial yang dihadapi oleh anak-anak yang terlibat, penelitian ini berusaha untuk mempromosikan kesadaran akan pentingnya menghentikan pernikahan anak sebagai alasan untuk mencapai kebahagiaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah ceramah, tanya jawab dan diskusi secara daring via zoom. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pemahaman bahwa pernikahan anak bukanlah solusi untuk mencapai kebahagiaan, melainkan lebih sering menjadi sumber ketidakbahagiaan, ketidaksetaraan gender, dan pelanggaran hak asasi. Kekerasan dalam rumah tangga.   Kata kunci: Pernikahan Anak, Kebahagian   ABTRACT Child marriage, which is a practice where children under the age of adulthood are forced to marry is a phenomenon that occurs in various parts of the world not least in South Sulawesi, digging deeper into the negative impacts that may arise, for counselling guidance teachers to socialise the dangers of child marriage and more importantly as an educational material as well as preventive towards the younger generation, students and also college students. By analysing the factors that encourage child marriage, including cultural and economic pressures, as well as the psychological and social consequences faced by the children involved, this research seeks to promote awareness of the importance of stopping child marriage as a reason to achieve happiness. The methods used in the implementation of this service activity are lectures, questions and answers and online discussions via zoom. The results of this activity show that there is an increased understanding that child marriage is not a solution to happiness, but more often a source of unhappiness, gender inequality, and human rights violations. Abstract

Language development is one of the most crucial aspects of a child’s growth, as it influences cognitive abilities, communication skills, emotional expression, and information acquisition. However, data from the 2021 Susenas MSBP survey indicate that the majority of early childhood children in Indonesia do not receive optimal support from their parents in reading or listening to stories. This article examines the importance of language stimulation in children and introduces Listen, an audio-based digital library application designed to enhance children’s vocabulary exposure and language skills in an adaptive and educational manner. The application leverages technology to provide audiobooks and interactive features that serve as an innovative literacy medium. The findings highlight that environmental support, both from parents and digital learning media, plays a significant role in strengthening children’s language development. Therefore, Listen offers a flexible and effective alternative solution to support children’s language growth as part of preparing them to become competent future generations.

Abstract

The increasing number of broken home cases among adolescents has become an urgent social issue due to its serious impact on mental health and academic learning. This study aims to describe the effects of a broken home condition on the mental well-being and learning process of a female adolescent in Makassar, using a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation involving a high school student whose parents are separated, as well as supporting informants including a guidance counselor and a close friend. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis consisting of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and validation through member checking and source triangulation. The findings indicate four major results: (1) the broken home situation triggers emotional distress such as anxiety, deep sadness, loss of motivation, and behavioral changes; (2) cognitive functions such as concentration and memory are disrupted, which negatively affects academic achievement; (3) social withdrawal and difficulty building interactions at school emerge as adaptive responses; and (4) social support from teachers, peers, and school counselors plays a crucial role in emotional recovery. The study concludes that the broken home condition significantly influences adolescents’ mental health and learning process, with implications for schools to strengthen responsive counseling services and enhance collaboration with parents to ensure continuous support.
