Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Stroke is a cerebrovascular disease that causes sudden death. The blockage causes a lack of oxygen supply which can cause rupture of the arteries to the brain and death of the cells. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected stroke care through various aspects, many of which are associated with neurological symptoms and complications that occur due to delays in treatment. Therefore, the application of telerehabilitation can help support and care for patients with stroke by reducing the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyse the application of telerehabilitation to post-stroke patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method:The research method is in the form of a systematic review with literature search on primary sources online database, namely PubMed, Medline, and Google Scholar with a range of 2019 to 2021, selection of studies using a meta-analysis approach by answering questions using the PECOT/PICOS framework and analyzed using simplified approach. In this study, the number of articles found was 889 articles with six articles meeting the inclusion criteria. Results: The results of this study indicate that telerehabilitation is effective for stroke patients, but providing telerehabilitation must pay attention to the patient's and family's ability to use digital technology, the ability to understand rehabilitation programs, and also various aspects such as functional status: direct motor skills involving the upper extremities, balance, cardiorespiratory fitness, cognitive function, and the level of acceptance and eligibility of teletherapy by users (patients/families) at home so that the therapy program can run optimally. Conclusion: Telerehabilitation is effectively implemented in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic because it can provide support and help patients, families, and health services in providing care for stroke patients while reducing the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Abstract

In the Southeast Asia region, two-thirds of all deaths are due to non-communicable diseases. Half of all premature deaths occur between the ages of 30 and 69 in 2021. The problem of non-communicable diseases can occur in all groups of society. One group at risk includes refugees. While in their home countries, refugees may have limited access to healthcare. As a result, non-communicable diseases may go undetected or poorly managed. Refugees may experience difficult conditions and lack of ongoing care while on the run which can exacerbate non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Indonesia is one of the destination countries for refugees from several countries such as Afghanistan, Myanmar, Somalia, Sudan and Iran. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge related to non-communicable diseases to refugees who are at an NGO in Jakarta. This activity was held online with the Zoom application. Education was provided in two sessions. The educational material provided was based on the results of a poll among refugees. Lectures and questions and answers were the methods used in the activity. The event went smoothly with participants showing enthusiasm on the question and answer side. From the evaluation results, participants expected this activity to be held again because the knowledge gained was useful for participants and the health session was very enjoyable.

Abstract

Introduction: Student academic performance is very important for first-year students because it will determine their success in the lecture period. Factors that affect student academic performance include self-efficacy and self-adaptation. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and self-adaptation to student academic performance. Method: This study used correlational quantitative research methods. The population in this study were first-year nursing students at one of the Tangerang Private Universities, totaling 440 students. Data collection in this study will use a non-probability sampling technique, namely a consecutive sampling technique. The sample in this study was 220 students. The instruments used are the GSES (General Self Efficacy Scale) questionnaire, SACQ (Student Adjustment to Collage Questionnaire), and first-semester grade point average. The analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. This research was conducted in January-April 2024. Result: The results showed a significant relationship between self-efficacy and academic performance with a p-value of 0.047 <0.005. However, there was no relationship between self-adaptation and academic performance, with a p-value of 0.575>0.05. The results of this study indicate that student academic performance can be influenced by self-efficacy but not by student self-adaptation. Conclusion It can be concluded that the higher students' self-efficacy, the better their academic performance, but self-adaptation does not affect students' high or low academic performance. Therefore, it is hoped that future researchers can develop research by using a broader measuring instrument to measure academic performance and find other variables that can affect student academic performance.

Abstract

English is not commonly utilized for daily communication in Indonesia due to its status as a foreign language. Consequently, it is common for a significant number of Indonesian students to lack sufficient proficiency in spoken English. The same applies to pupils at SMAK Kasih Anugerah, Bojong Nangka, Tangerang. Furthermore, a significant number of pupils experience apprehension when required to communicate in English. In response to this issue, the English team at UPH Faculty of Nursing has made the decision to conduct an intensive one-month English speaking training program for students at SMAK Kasih Anugerah. The methodology employed is Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), more especially utilizing the storytelling technique. The selection of this method was based on its numerous advantages in fostering the enhancement of students' English speaking abilities and its capacity to cultivate an enjoyable and engaging learning environment. The first three weeks focused on the study and practice of storytelling materials and strategies. During the previous week, a storytelling competition took place, providing students with an opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they had acquired. The evaluation results indicated that the majority of students had confidence in their ability to narrate stories in English, as well as exhibited proficient and accurate pronunciation of vocabulary. All students on the evaluation sheet expressed contentment with the training and voiced a desire for a subsequent session. Additionally, they asserted that their proficiency in vocabulary significantly enhanced as a result of reading numerous story texts provided by the facilitators.

Abstract

Gouty arthritis is a joint disorder that is on the rise among adults worldwide experiencing pain and swelling. Gouty arthritis often causes significant pain and swelling that can limit physical activity due to joint damage. Recently, lack of detailed information regarding the location pain and swelling. Therefore, this study aimed to identify characteristics (age, gender, BMI, and alcohol consumption), pain location and swelling location in patients with gouty arthritis at a private hospital in Western Indonesia. This study used quantitative methods with a retrospective documentation design. The sampling technique was total sampling, involving 47 medical records from one of the private hospitals in Western Indonesia. Instrument, data analysis The results of the study showed that pain most frequently occurred in the infrapatellar bursa (34%), while swelling was not found in 34% of patients with gout arthritis. The instrument used was a form sheet consisting of demographic data and information regarding location of pain and swelling. The data was analyzed using univariate analysis. Results show that the most pain and swelling were found in the infrapatellar bursa. Further research is recommended to explore effective interventions for managing these symptoms. The high incidence of gouty arthritis in individuals aged 55–65 years highlights the importance of prioritizing screening and early detection efforts for this age group. Given the high frequency of pain and swelling complaints among patients, further research on appropriate management strategies is essential for individuals with gouty arthritis.
