Abstract

The ethnomathematics approach in primary education offers the potential to conceptualize mathematics learning in a contextual, reflective, and culturally based manner. However, the integration of local culture into Indonesia's mathematics curriculum remains sporadic and lacks a systematic structure. This study aims to describe the implementation of ethnomathematics in multicultural education in primary schools in Banyumas, focusing on the use of Ngapak’s non-standard units in multiplication operations and the utilization of traditional games such as engklek and dam-daman in teaching geometry. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive type, this study involved teachers, students, and school principals from three primary schools in Banyumas. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, which were then interactively analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study results show that: 1) the use of non-standard units such as unting, sangga, and selingget in multiplication operations enriches students' conceptual understanding by linking mathematics to real-life practices such as trade and agriculture, 2) the engklek game strengthens geometry concepts through representations of squares, rectangles, and triangles, while the dam-daman game contributes to the development of critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and spatial strategies, 3) this study proves that the ethnomathematics approach not only increases student engagement in learning but also contributes to academic achievement, with mastery levels ranging from 92% to 95% and average scores between 87 and 89.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is very important in forming the basis of understanding and mathematical skills that are essential for the intellectual development of students. The results of interviews and observations of learning mathematics in grade I SD Negeri Podorejo 02 students still cannot focus their attention during learning, passive, and low learning outcomes. The focus of this research is to describe the implementation of the Project Based Learning model with the help of Finger Hands media in learning mathematics in grade I SD Negeri Podorejo 02 Semarang City on subtraction material and describe learning outcomes in the aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations, written tests, and rubrics for assessing attitudes and skills. The results of the implementation of the Project Based Learning model in class I at SDN Podorejo 02 Semarang City. The average score increase from pretest to posttest was 14.2. Before the implementation of the model, the complete score was 54.2%, with an incomplete score of 45.8%. After implementing the model, the score was 91.7% complete, with 8.3% incomplete. The skill assessment was calculated in the very good category with 88% while the attitude assessment was calculated in the very good category with 100%. So that by implementing the Project Based Learning model with the help of Finger Hands media in learning mathematics in class I SD Negeri.

Abstract

The challenges of innovation and development in education require collaborative effort between the government, educational institutions, teachers, students, and the wider community to ensure education can meet the demands of the industrial era 4.0. This study aims to evaluate the Kampus Mengajar 5 student program and impact of literacy culture in partner school. This research uses the Goal Oriented Evaluation Model with mixed methods. Quantitative data collected through questionnaries involving tutor teachers, school principals, and field supervisors as well as documentation of the results of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) class. Qualitative data were collected through interviews. This research was analyzed with descriptive statistics. The result showed 89,84% and Kampus Mengajar 5 student program was sustainable and had a positive impact on literacy culture in partner school. The Kampus Mengajar 5 student program can prove and has suitability and an important role to support the industrial era 4.0.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine (1) the differences in mathematical representation ability between students taught using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Power Point and those in the control class, and (2) the effectiveness of the PBL model on students’ mathematical representation ability. A quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design was used, involving two fifth-grade classes in Semarang. The experimental group received PBL assisted by Power Point over four meetings, while the control group received direct instruction. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and, then analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk Test, Levene’s Test, and the Mann-Whitney U Test.  The results showed that students taught with the PBL model assisted by PowerPoint achieved higher mathematical representation abilities, particularly in verbal representation aspect. However, the effectiveness of the model was not statistically significant, as it was influenced by several factors such as limited instructional time, students’ readiness for group work, the complexity of higher-order thinking questions, and the lack of interactivity in the learning media. Despite these limitations, the model shows potential for further development, especially through improving media quality, more effective time management, and designing assessments that align with students' actual abilities.

Abstract

This research uses research and development methods which refer to the Borg and Gall model. This research was conducted with the aim of developing and testing the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of Canva-based LowkE-Book learning media. This research involved 27 students with 6 small-scale trial subjects and 21 large-scale trial subjects at SD Negeri Sadeng 01. The data collection technique used was a test technique (pretest-posttest) and non-test in the form of observation results, questionnaires, interview results and document data. The validation results carried out by media expert validators and material experts showed that the Canva-based LowkE-Book learning media had met the valid criteria with a score of 90% by the media expert validator, and 96% by the material expert validator. Based on the pretest-posttest results, it is known that the Canva-based LowkE-Book is effective in improving student learning outcomes as evidenced by the increase in the average pretest score from 42.85 to 85.14 at the time of the posttest and the n gain test results obtained <g> value gain of 0.74 in the high category. Based on the results of the response questionnaire distributed, very positive responses were obtained from teachers and students. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Canva-based LowkE-Book learning media is effective for improving learning outcomes in science subjects and is feasible and practical to apply in student learning.
