Abstract

This article aims to review various problems of social relations of Salafis in West Sumatra based on literature review from various sources in recent years. The research method used is a qualitative method of the type of literature study. The results of the literature review that have been conducted show that Salafis have good social relations in the family, neighbors, and friendship with Salafis and non-Salafis. However, Salafis also have an exclusive nature with the surrounding community in terms of worship or muamalah which according to them is contrary or incompatible with Al-Quir'an, Hadith, and the actions exemplified by as-salaf ash-salih which are the main sources of Salafi Islamic teachings. In addition, there is also a social gap from the case of Ustadz Hafzan El Hadi which has occurred on Eid al-Fithri in 1444 H / 2023 AD where the case is about the difference in the determination of Eid al-Fithri between the Government and Muhammadiyah. He compared Muhammadiyah to Shi'a in posts posted on social media. He eventually apologized to Muhammadiyah. However, the legal process continues. These are various problems in social relations between Salafis and non-Salafi communities in the West Sumatra area.

Abstract

Da'wah normatively has a positive impact on the people, because the da'wah conveyed is a manifestation of God's love and affection for mankind. In its implementation, the preaching delivered by religious figures often raises problems regarding harmony between religious communities and between religions. So it is hoped that da'wah can become a tool for developing the values of tolerance between religious communities and between religions, so that tolerance creates harmony in social life, and upholds the rights of each citizen. The approach used in this research is a qualitative method. This research shows that da'wah delivered properly and correctly in accordance with the demands of Islamic teachings can have a positive impact on life both personally, in the community, in society and in the state. This harmony is created if the values of tolerance and moderation can be developed by involving several elements including, elements of the government, elements of religious figures, systems or regulations that have been established as well as, public trust in the values of truth that are adhered to and the methods of preaching that are used. In creating harmony between religious communities and between religions, we return to the da'wah methods stated in the Al-Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad.

Abstract

Abstract

This research was library research with overthinking as its material object and the Stoicism of Marcus Aurelius as a formal object. The main problem in this study is how Marcus Aurelius' Stoicism becomes a solution to overthinking. This research used critical analysis and heuristics methods. The data source in this research refers to the book or personal record of Marcus Aurelius, namely Meditations, which is supported by other sources that are closely related to the problems of Stoicism and overthinking. There are some critical points as the solution to the overthinking of Marcus Aurelius' Stoicism, namely, first, living in harmony with nature, where things beyond human control are on the scale of nature. Second, regarding the treatment of others, the actions and words of others are beyond human control, and what should be controlled is their perception. Third, self-restraint is in of control of humans. Everything that comes from out of control will not affect and interfere if in of control can be managed with the argumentation that humans as a whole are human beings that have a ratio; then this is the core of Marcus Aurelius' Stoicism.

The theory used in this article is the propaganda theory by Decker which comprehensively highlights the symbols of religion and Minangkabau culture - Buya, Surau and Lapau - represented to build a strong identity politics image. These three symbols are used as political ideals that are identical to Minangkabau culture which is closely related to the collaboration between religion and culture as a philosophy of life. Abstract

This study examines the practice of religious moderation among Muslim minority communities in Indonesia, particularly in regions where non-Muslims constitute the majority, such as Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, and North Sulawesi. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research explores the dynamics of religious life among Muslim minorities in practicing their faith, maintaining Islamic identity, and interacting socially with majority communities of different beliefs. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis from various local sources. The findings reveal that Muslim minorities often face several challenges, including social discrimination, restrictions on the construction of places of worship, and intolerant attitudes from segments of the community. In this context, the implementation of religious moderation principles—which include tolerance, non-violence, cultural accommodation, and national unity commitment—is seen as an effective approach to strengthening social cohesion and fostering harmonious coexistence. This study recommends the need for more inclusive, systematic, and context-sensitive public policies to support the sustainable practice of religious moderation. Such efforts are crucial to creating a safe, just, and equitable social space for all religious groups, especially for those in minority positions.
