Abstract

The role of Indonesian academies as science communicators evolves together with changing government regimes. Globally, science academies are typically not-for-profit, independent academic communities committed to providing advice for the nation in matters pertaining to science and technology. In Indonesia, science academies are historically formed under state regimes. This article, drawing on Niilo Kauppi’s framework, examines five years of science communication by the Indonesian Academy of Sciences, and two organizations under its auspices: the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences and the Indonesian Science Fund. It reflects on their efforts to bridge the gaps between science, policy, and the public. Within the academy’s network, at times members relinguish their scientific identities to occupy the space between government and public — which in certain contexts might become disadvantageous. This is especially so in conditions where unequal power is held between the State and scientists, where the mobilization of resources, relationships, and symbols of sciences — staples for science communication —becomes ineffective.

Abstract

Program pendampingan yang diselenggarakan merupakan kolaborasi antara Program Desa Digital dan Akademi Desa Juara (Aksara) Provinsi Jawa Barat yang bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi desa melalui digitalisasi. Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh para kepala desa baru, ketua Badan Permusyawaratan Desa (BPD), sekretaris desa (Sekdes) di Provinsi Jawa Barat, tenaga pendidik dari Departemen Kesejahteraan Sosial Universitas Padjadjaran, dan pemerintah daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat. Perwakilan para kepala desa baru tersebut diantaranya dari Kota Cirebon, Kabupaten Cirebon, Kabupaten Indramayu, Kabupaten Sukabumi, dan Kabupaten Bogor. Program pendampingan ini mencakup pemaparan materi mengenai digitalisasi pedesaan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat desa serta diskusi terarah untuk memetakan potensi dan tantangan digitalisasi di desa guna memaksimalkan digitalisasi layanan publik di pedesaan. Program pengabdian masyarakat tersebut kemudian menghasilkan kesepakatan gagasan terkait pentingnya upaya digitalisasi di pedesaan, termasuk diantaranya ketersediaan keterbukaan informasi dan layanan publik di desa, literasi digital untuk aparatur desa, dan optimalisasi pembangunan infrastruktur untuk mendukung implementasi teknologi digital di desa. Tantangan yang dihadapi oleh perwakilan aparatur desa termasuk diantaranya keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi digital yang mendukung, keterbatasan literasi digital, dan kebutuhan regulasi tingkat kabupaten dan desa yang terukur untuk mendukung upaya transformasi digital di perdesaan. Upaya tindak lanjut disepakati antara perwakilan desa dan pemerintah daerah provinsi Jawa Barat melalui naskah kesepakatan kerjasama digitalisasi desa. The mentoring program held is a collaboration between the Digital Village Program and the Juara Village Academy (Aksara) of West Java Province, aimed at optimizing the potential of villages through digitalization. The event was attended by newly appointed village heads, village consultative body (BPD) chairs, village secretaries (Sekdes) from West Java Province, educators from the Department of Social Welfare at Universitas Padjadjaran, and local government officials from West Java Province. The representatives of the newly appointed village heads came from Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency, Indramayu Regency, Sukabumi Regency, and Bogor Regency. This mentoring program included presentations on rural digitalization and community empowerment, as well as directed discussions to map the potential and challenges of digitalization in villages, with the aim of maximizing the digitalization of public services in rural areas. The community service program resulted in an agreement on the importance of digitalization efforts in rural areas, including the availability of open information and public services in villages, digital literacy for village officials, and the optimization of infrastructure development to support the implementation of digital technology in villages. Challenges faced by the representatives of village administrations included limitations in digital technology infrastructure, digital literacy, and the need for measurable regulations at the district and village levels to support digital transformation efforts in rural areas. Follow-up actions were agreed upon between the village representatives and the West Java provincial government through a memorandum of understanding for village digitalization collaboration.

Abstract

This study focused on analyzing one of the intrinsic elements in comics, namely the mandate (moral message) offered by the author of the 7 Years Relationship comic published in digital comic media, Webtoon Canvas. The stories developed have a mandate, namely the importance of helping others, repaying the kindness of others who have helped us, and so on. Also in this comic, the author tucked away about the dangers of a child being restrained by his parents to choose his "success" without any compromise or discussing in advance what the child wants in the future. Analyzing this comic uses an analysis of the moral approach to analyze the intrinsic elements of the comic. In addition, the researchers applied this research with note-taking techniques and language translation techniques. This descriptive qualitative research has main purpose of this research is to analyze the morals of the comic storyline 7 years relationship. The benefit of this research is that it makes it easy for readers of the 7 Years Relationship comic to find the meaning and moral message behind the comic story and as a form of implementation and contribution of researchers' scientific studies that can be useful for public literacy materials

Abstract

Reputation is an identity that universities continue to strive for. In the digital era, social media is used to achieve this. This article's discussion includes a discourse analysis of how students at Universitas Negeri Semarang use language, along with an explanation of how their language performances and expressions on social media reflect their attitudes and manners. The findings of the study demonstrate that students' utterance or speech patterns vary based on the factors and objectives of their speeches. Adding more, it's said that students of Universitas Negeri Semarang have good language awareness. The methods for preserving the presence of positive student content through the development of language character are also included in this assessment.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate and identify research trends related to classical literature to preserve Islamic cultural heritage through education, especially in the context of religious education. The primary focus of this research is to examine the contribution of classical literature in the learning process and teaching of Islamic cultural and spiritual values. This study uses a bibliometric approach by analyzing 441 scientific documents from the Scopus database from 2004 to 2024. The data studied includes titles, keywords, and abstracts, with the help of VOSviewer software for visual mapping of keywords and research topic networks. The study has three main findings. First, the productivity of scholarly publications related to classical literature is still low, suggesting that this topic has not been extensively explored academically and has excellent opportunities for future development. Second, the keyword analysis uncovers several essential terms that can be the basis for developing new topics, particularly in the context of preserving Islamic culture through education. Third, there is great potential in making classical literature a vehicle for forming character and cultural values in the religious education system. Thus, studying classical literature as part of the Islamic cultural heritage requires a more systematic and interdisciplinary approach.

Abstract

This research explores classical Javanese manuscripts in correlation with diaspora identity memories. Java, which is now part of Indonesia, during the nineteenth century was a place of meeting and hope for various ethnic groups. These events are recorded in cultural memory in classical Javanese texts and formed in Javanese cultural narratives. This research is a qualitative research approach postcolonial. The hermeneutic method analyses cultural phenomena that develop in Javanese society. Data in Javanese chronicle and piwulang manuscripts combined with Javanese cultural traditions rooted in society. Critical analysis is carried out to identify the Javanese concept in the track record of noble culture. The research results show that Javanese culture is presented in the symbols, values, and rituals contained in the chronicle and piwulang texts as markers and evidence of the existence of diaspora contact in Java, which formed a new culture. Javanese identity was formed through the patronage of the king's power. Javanese texts record events from birth, life cycle and death, becoming a container for unifying various crystallized cultural elements. Acculturation, syncretism, and maintaining the cultural identity of each ethnic diaspora in the expression of various cultural events. The cultural identity that crystallizes in the complexity of values, traditions and cultural characteristics is embedded in the hearts of the Javanese people. The pinnacle of Javanese identity is a philosophy of life that emphasizes the values ​​of politeness, balance and harmony in social relations, which are crystallized in the concept of 'rasa' or the feeling of being a shared identity between natives and the diaspora in Java.

Abstract

Sebagai salah satu bentuk konsekuensi dalam membangun wellbeing dalam ekosistem sekolah,  guru harus berorientasi, berkolaborasi, dan berupaya melakukan pengembangan keprofesian berkelanjutan (PKB). Akan tetapi, banyak guru yang belum bisa melakukan PKB, baik berupa kegiatan pengembangan diri, publikasi ilmiah, maupun karya inovatif. Padahal, kegiatan penulisan artikel ilmiah ini adalah salah satu bentuk pengembangan diri bagi guru untuk meningkatkan kualifikasi dan kompetensi dalam mengukuhkan perannya sebagai guru profesional. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan upaya yang lebih komprehensif untuk dapat membangkitkan semangat guru melakukan penelitian dan menuangkannya dalam bentuk artikel dengan membuat sebuah komunitas belajar yang mampu menjadi inisiasi dalam membentuk ekosistem sekolah yang mengutamakan wellbeing menuju profesionalisme guru yang lebih baik melalui pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah dengan model lesson study di SMP N 9 Salatiga. Melalui pelatihan ini, guru-guru tidak hanya meningkatkan kompetensi profesional mereka dalam menulis dan melakukan penelitian ilmiah, tetapi juga berhasil menerapkan praktik pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan efektif di kelas. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana peningkatan kompetensi akademik, tetapi juga sebagai fondasi penting dalam membangun kesejahteraan yang menyeluruh di sekolah, menciptakan dampak jangka panjang bagi perkembangan siswa, guru, dan komunitas sekolah.
