Abstract

The industrial sector has become a leading sector and contributes greatly to the formation of GRDP in East Java. However, the contribution is still not optimal due to other factors that hinder the production process in each industry. One form of externality that can encourage regional growth is the agglomeration economy. This study aims to determine the role of economic agglomeration on tchnical efficiency in the manufacturing industry in East Java. The stochastic frontier analysis method is used to determine the technicala efficiency in East Java. The result showed that the technical efficiency of manufacturing industry companies in East Java in 2010-2014 was not efficient. The value of technical efficiency of the industry from 2010-2014 the results show fluctuations. These findings show that the TE value is not efficient, so the recommendation given is the need to increase the size of the company to encourage higher efficiency.

Abstract

Increased economic growth is influenced by increased exports and imports, especially in the era of globalization. However, there are trade policies that can harm the national economy. Therefore, this research aims to determine the influence of exports and imports on Indonesia's economic growth for the 2014-2023 period. This research uses a quantitative approach with annual time series data taken using documentation techniques. In addition, multiple linear regression analysis techniques were used in this research to see the influence of export and import variables on Indonesia's economic growth. The results of this research are that exports have a significant negative effect on Indonesia's economic growth. Meanwhile, imports influence Indonesia's economic growth in a significantly positive way.

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors that influence income exploitation among child workers in Indonesia using secondary data from the August 2022 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas). A quantitative approach and binary logistic regression were applied to test the influence of variables such as regional classification, gender, age, educational status, working hours, and type of work on the likelihood of income exploitation. The results of the analysis show that gender has a significant effect, with female child workers 0.46 times more likely to be exploited than male child workers. Age also has a significant effect, with younger child workers 0.87 times more likely to experience exploitation than older child workers. Child workers who work more than 40 hours per week are 1.65 times more likely to be exploited than those who work ≤ 40 hours per week. In addition, child workers in the informal sector are 2.46 times more likely to be exploited than those in the formal sector. Meanwhile, regional classification and educational status do not have a significant effect on the level of income exploitation of child workers in Indonesia
