Abstract

Introduction: One of the Posyandu services for the elderly is blood pressure measurement, but the tool used is an analog tensimeter and how it works is still done manually. Posyandu cadres who are currently running are used to using these tools, but with the addition of a digital tensimeter, training is needed again on how to use a digital tensimeter. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of training on the use of a digital tensimeter on the skills of using a digital tensimeter for Posyandu cadres. Methods: This research method used quantitative with a quasi-experimental design with a one group pre-test and post-test approach with 24 cadres as respondents. Data collection was carried out before and after training using standard operating procedures. Results: Data analysis using statistical tests using the Wilxocon test showed that the results of this study obtained a significance value of 0.000 so that <0.05 indicated that there was a significant effect between training on the use of a digital tensimeter on the skills of posyandu cadres. Conclusion:  Training on the use of digital blood pressure meters is effective in increasing the skills of cadres in using digital blood pressure meters. Therefore, training targeting all Posyandu cadres can be used as a strategy to improve skills in using digital blood pressure meters and the accuracy of measuring blood pressure, reminding that digital blood pressure meters are a new tool.

Abstract

Disaster health education is included in disaster mitigation which aims to increase public knowledge and minimize casualties caused when a disaster occurs. School-aged children are a vulnerable group who are still unfamiliar with disaster knowledge, so there is a need for health education about disasters. The aim of the research is to determine the influence of health education on students' knowledge of drought disaster mitigation. This research uses a Pre-Experimental research type that uses a One-Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design, and uses a total sampling technique with a sample size of 46 respondents. The results of the research before being given health education showed that 29 (63.0%) respondents were at a good level of knowledge with an average score of 10.17. The research results after being given health education increased students' knowledge level, namely 41 (89.1%) respondents had good knowledge with an average score of 11.93. The data analysis used was the Wilcoxon test, with a significance level of a=0.05, the result was r 0.000<a so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. From these results it can be concluded that there is an influence of health education on students' knowledge of drought disaster mitigation.

Abstract

A disaster is an event that causes damage, ecological disruption, loss of human life, and deterioration of health services or services on a certain scale that requires a response from the community in the disaster-affected area. Matesih District is dominated by steep slopes and experiences high rainfall. These conditions cause extensive erosion, weathering and landslides. The purpose of this service is to improve the knowledge and skills of volunteers about splint dressing. Disasters that have occurred in the world include landslides that have caused several people to suffer minor injuries. Injuries to residents generally occur in the musculoskeletal system. To prevent injuries to the musculoskeletal system, splint dressing assistance is needed through health education/training. providing understanding and knowledge to volunteers about the importance of increasing volunteer knowledge and skills about splint dressing. The method used is by presenting material and a simulation. Based on this identification, STIKes Mitra Husada Karanganyar aims to provide an understanding to Destana volunteers about splint dressing. In this service activity, the population was 27 volunteers in Girilayu village. This activity was carried out with the initial method of providing material and then continued with simulations related to splint dressing. The results of the community service activities went smoothly, understanding and skills about splinting increased by 85,2 %. So it can be concluded that the increase in splinting skills is inseparable from the provision of splint dressing training.

Abstract

Verbal communication is a type of communication carried out by nurses directly or indirectly to patients while non-verbal communication is a type of communication carried out by nurses with non-verbal cues such as facial expressions, expressions, smiles and others. Patients are often dissatisfied with the quality and amount of information received from health workers. Thirty-five to forty percent of patients are dissatisfied with communicating with doctors and nurses, the aspect that makes them most dissatisfied is the amount and type of information received. The amount of information given by doctors to patients is an average of 18 types of information to remember, in fact they are only able to remember 31%. More than 60% of those interviewed after meeting with doctors and nurses misunderstood the instructions given to them. This is caused by the failure of health professionals to provide complete information, the use of medical terms (difficult to understand) and the many instructions that must be memorized by patients. The research design used is cross sectional which is analytic in nature. The independent variable is the nurse's verbal and non-verbal communication, while the dependent variable in this study is the level of patient satisfaction. This study used stratified random sampling or simple random sampling which is a type of probability samples or random samples. The samples were taken from patients who were sick and treated in surgical treatment rooms as many as 38 people. Based on the results of the above study, it can be seen that of the 38 patients in the Surgical Treatment Room, the majority of patients said the nurses' verbal and non-verbal communication was good. There is a relationship between verbal and non-verbal communication with the level of patient satisfaction being treated.

Abstract

Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that primarily affects the lung parenchyma. Common moderate symptoms include dyspnea and hypoxemia. Prompt and effective management of hypoxia is crucial to prevent further organ damage. One non-invasive and easily administered intervention is the use of the proning position, which facilitates improved oxygen intake. This study aims to examine the effect of the proning position on increasing oxygen saturation in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: This pre-experimental study used a one-group pretest–posttest design. The study involved 35 patients with pulmonary TB treated in the Wijaya Kusuma 3 Ward of Kartini Karanganyar Regional Public Hospital during December 2023. Inclusion criteria were: drug-sensitive pulmonary TB, oxygen saturation <94%, fully conscious, no severe respiratory distress, and willingness to participate. Exclusion criteria included unstable hemodynamics, spinal injuries, or contraindications to positional changes. Each patient underwent a series of five proning positions (prone, right and left lateral, and right and left semi-sitting side-lying), with each position held for 30 minutes. Oxygen saturation levels were measured before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test. Results: The mean oxygen saturation increased from 93.87% before the intervention to 96.97% after the proning technique. Post-intervention saturation ranged between 96% and 99%. Statistical analysis showed a significant improvement in oxygen saturation following the intervention (p < 0.001) Conclusion: The proning position significantly improves oxygen saturation in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. It is recommended as a supportive, non-invasive intervention for managing hypoxemia in pulmonary TB cases.
