Abstract

Resistance band training can increase muscle strength in swimmers with physical disabilities, especially because muscle strength problems often hinder achieving optimal performance. This study aimed to determine the effect of resistance band training on the muscle strength of swimmers with physical disabilities number 50 meters freestyle. This research method uses a one-group pretest-posttest design with an experimental approach. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design research design. This research instrument used a total sampling recruitment technique involving 28 Jakarta Para Swim athletes. PretestPretest and post-test tools, including a 50-meter freestyle swimming course, were used in this study. Using IBM SPSS Statistics version 27, data analysis methods included a t-test at a significant level of 0.05, normality and homogeneity tests, and prerequisite tests. The results of this study state that the average speed of 28 athletes is 42.21 freestyle meters before the test and 38.77 freestyle meters after the test there is an increase in the average speed of 50 meters freestyle by 10%, or 3.44 seconds in resistance band training for swimmers with disabilities number 50 meters freestyle with an increase of 10%, namely 3.44 seconds. These results provide a basis for disability sports coaches and practitioners to integrate resistance band training as part of a training program to improve swimming performance for athletes with physical disabilities.

Abstract

Students with intellectual disabilities often face barriers in developing fundamental motor skills, especially running, because of limited adaptability and slower learning processes. Previous physical education practices in special schools remain conventional and rarely offer models tailored to these students. To address this gap, this research developed a basic running movement model based on traditional games, chosen for their simplicity, cultural relevance, and ability to foster motivation and engagement. The study applied a Research and Development (R&D) approach adapted from Borg & Gall, covering preliminary research stages, planning, expert validation, limited trials, and broader implementation. Participants involved 50 students with mild intellectual disabilities from four special schools in Jakarta. Expert validation using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR = 0.7) and reliability analysis with Cronbach's Alpha (α = 0.839) confirmed that the model was valid and reliable. Effectiveness testing through pre- and post-intervention assessments significantly improved students' running abilities (t = 4.388, p < 0.05). These results indicate that the model is feasible for classroom implementation, as it enhances motor skills, increases student motivation, and provides an inclusive learning medium. Compared to previous studies, the novelty of this research lies in systematically integrating traditional games into structured running instruction for students with intellectual disabilities. The model is also low-cost, adaptable to school facilities, and promotes enjoyment in physical activity.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of simulation and role-play methods in enhancing basic football techniques among elementary school students. A classroom action research approach was employed, involving 28 students from SD Mujahidin Pontianak. The study was conducted over two cycles, with pre- and post-intervention assessments of students' basic football techniques. The interventions utilized simulation and role-play methods, where students engaged in interactive activities to mimic or enact scenarios that develop football skills. Before the intervention, 6 students were categorized as 'less,' 22 as 'sufficient,' with an average score of 63.57, indicating a 'sufficient' proficiency level. Post-intervention, 1 student remained in the 'sufficient' category, while 27 were categorized as 'good,' achieving an improved average score of 79.71. This reflects an 11.26% increase in basic football techniques from cycle 1 to cycle 2. The findings demonstrate that simulation and role-play methods significantly enhance students' engagement and skill acquisition in football techniques. These interactive approaches promote active learning and practical skill application, leading to marked improvements in performance. Simulation and role-play methods effectively improve basic football techniques among elementary students. Teachers are encouraged to adopt these methods to foster skill development and active participation in physical education.

Abstract

Kegiatan aktivitas fisik disabilitas netra dengan membuat suatu program permainan modifikasi. Program ini dibuat dalam bentuk rekreasi terdapat unsur permainan di dalam nya. Tujuan dari dibuatnya permainan ialah untuk membuat kegiatan yang selama ini dianggap membosankan menjadi lebih bervariatif dan menarik, sehingga para disabilitas netra bisa melakukan kegiatan dengan senang bahkan berpotensi membuat mereka menjadi lebih aktif bergerak serta rajin melakukan aktivitas. Menurut Dick et al. (2005) mengembangkan model-model pengembangan yaitu model ADDIE, model tersebut terdiri dari lima tahapan pengembangan. Model yang melibatkan tahap-tahap pengembangan model dengan lima langkah atau fase pengembangan meliputi: Analysis, Design, Development or Production, Implementation or Delivery and Evaluations. Melihat hasil dari penelitian Model Physical Activity Berbasis Permainan Pada Disabilitas Netra dapat memberikan kontribusi yang baik bagi anak-anak disaat tidak ada kegiatan di Panti Sosial Bina Netra dan Rungu Wicara Cahaya Batin, memberikan kontribusi yang baik juga kepada pengelola Panti Sosial Bina Netra dan Rungu Wicara Cahaya Batin dalam proses penelitian ini. Sehubung dengan produk yang di buat yaitu Model Physical Activity Berbasis Permainan Pada Disabilitas Netra, hal ini anak-anak sangatlah antusias dalam melakukan aktivitas fisik berbasis permainan, peneliti akan memberikan saran yang meliputi.
