Abstract

Many researchers found that students have difficulties in understanding probability. Students mostly focus on applying formula to find the solution of problem without knowing what the concept is and why the formula works. It is important for the students to build relational understanding.This underlies the researcher to design  learning of probability as hypothetical learning trajectory. Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) underlies the design of context andactivitiesto be do.This study uses a design research method which consists of three phases is  preparation and design, teaching experiment and retrospective analysis. The data collection technique is done by video recorder, documentation and test questions. The results of the research carried out obtained that student experienced an increase and the gave a good response to in solving the questions.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship education at the secondary education level, especially at Vocational High Schools (SMK), has an important role in forming a generation that is able to face the challenges of the modern economy. This education not only prepares students with technical knowledge, but also explores the creative and innovative potential needed in the business world. Entrepreneurship education plays an important role in increasing entrepreneurial motivation and innovation in vocational school students. High motivation is considered the key to success in running a business, while innovation opens up opportunities to face business competition in a unique and effective way. This service was carried out at SMKS 1 for the development of the city of Bengkulu on Friday 7 June 2024. The implementation of this service activity was to carry out socialization about cultivating an entrepreneurial spirit to increase student interest and motivation, where during the socialization there was a question and answer discussion with the students of SMKS 1 for the Development of the city of Bengkulu. This socialization aims to foster an entrepreneurial spirit in students and increase the motivational interest of students at SMKS 1 for the development of Bengkulu City. It is very influential in improving the entrepreneurial spirit from an early age, and increasing relationships and network connections is necessary.

Abstract

This study is an exploratory research aimed at uncovering the relationship between mathematical concepts and the traditional Mangkuak Basayak cake, a distinctive delicacy from West Sumatra. The primary focus of this research is to explore ethnomathematical elements in community activities, particularly in the process of making and shaping the cake, which has the potential to become a contextual source for mathematics learning. Using ethnographic methods, data collection involved direct observation, in-depth interviews with cultural practitioners, documentation, and field notes adhering to the principles of authentic ethnographic description. The findings indicate that the process of making Mangkuak Basayak involves various mathematical concepts, such as proportional comparisons of ingredients, measurements, and geometric shapes visible in the cake's structure. These findings affirm that local culture can be integrated into mathematics education to enhance students' understanding through contextual approaches relevant to daily life.

Abstract

Many researchers found that students had difficulty in understanding probability material. Students mostly focus on applying formulas to find solutions to problems without knowing what the concept is and why the formula works. This underlies the researcher to design probability learning as a hypothetical learning trajectory. The study aims to describe a series of learning activities designed to build relational understanding skills in probability material. This study uses a design research method consisting of three stages, namely preparation and design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. Data collection techniques were carried out using a video recorder, documentation, and test questions. The data collected is in the form of qualitative data. The collected data is interpreted by peers, teachers, and supervisors to reduce the subjectivity of the researcher's point of view. All data that has been collected were analyzed retrospectively. The results of the research conducted showed that students experienced an increase and gave a good response in solving problems. Teachers are expected to use a learning design with a realistic mathematical approach because it helps students understand learning and apply their knowledge in everyday life.

Abstract

Abstract The transformation of the world of education which is rapidly changing with the times requires an educator who has outstanding competencies to be able to embrace generation Z in the 21st century. This research discusses the analysis of teacher competencies that are attractive for the 21st century for prospective educators at UIN Sjech M.Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. This research aims to measure the competence of teachers in the 21st century as a preparation for educators to teach in schools for the future. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive analysis research methods. The data collection technique in this research uses a charming competency test using Google Form. The research subjects were 104 FTIK students of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program at UIN Sjech M.Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. The results of this research are as follows: the score for the sub-topic of nationalism, authoritative attitude is 37 in the poor category; the score for the sub-topic of patriotism and discipline was 52.9 in the quite good category; the score for the sub-topic appreciates a difference of 58.7 in the quite good category; the score for the sub-topic of prioritizing common interests, maintaining Indonesia's natural wealth and community attitudes was 93.3 in the very good category; the score for the sub-topic of appreciating the cultural riches of other nations was 27.9 in the poor category; the score for the assertive attitude sub-topic was 32.7 in the poor category; the score for the sub-topic attitude of full soul calling was 64.4 in the good category; the score for the wholehearted attitude sub-topic was 67.35 in the good category; The score for the sub-topic of generosity was 57.36 in the quite good category. The conclusion of this research is that the average competence of prospective educators is only 59.08%. If this is left unchecked, it will not only have an impact on educators but will also make it difficult for teachers to accommodate students at school.AbstrakTransformasi dunia pendidikan yang cepat berubah mengikuti zaman memerlukan seorang pendidik yang memiliki kompetensi memesona agar dapat merangkul generasi Z di abad 21. Penelitian ini membahas tentang analisis kompetensi guru yang memesona abad 21 bagi calon pendidik UIN Sjech M.Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa kompetensi guru yang memesona abad 21 sebagai persiapan calon pendidik mengajar di sekolah untuk masa yang akan datang. Jenis penelitian yang dipakai adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode peneitian deskriptif analisis. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes kompetensi memesona menggunakan google form. Subjek penelitian adalah 104 mahasiswa FTIK Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Islam UIN Sjech M.Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: skor untuk sub topik nasionalisme, sikap berwibawa sebesar 37 pada kategori kurang baik; skor untuk sub topik patriotisme, sikap disiplin sebesar 52,9 pada kategori cukup baik; skor untuk sub topik menghargai perbedaan sebesar 58,7 pada kategori cukup baik; skor untuk sub topik mengutamakan kepentingan bersama, mempertahankan kekayaan alam Indonesia serta sikap samapta sebesar 93,3 pada kategori sangat baik; skor untuk sub topik mengapresiasi kekayaan budaya bangsa lain sebesar 27,9 pada kategori kurang baik; skor untuk sub topik sikap tegas sebesar 32,7 pada kategori kurang baik; skor untuk sub topik sikap penuh panggilan jiwa sebesar 64,4 pada kategori baik; skor untuk sub topik sikap kesepenuhhatian sebesar 67,35 pada kategori baik; skor untuk sub topik kemurahhatian sebesar 57,36 pada kategori cukup baik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah rata-rata kompetensi memesona yang dimiliki calon pendidik hanya sebesar 59,08 %. Apabila hal ini dibiarkan, tidak hanya berdampak kepada pendidik saja tetapi juga berdampak kepada sulitnya guru untuk membersamai siswa di sekolah.

Abstract

Saluang musical instruments are unique during manufacturing because they contain mathematical concepts. However, no one has further realized and studied the mathematical concepts of musical instruments. This study aims to explore the relationship between mathematics and Saluang. The results of the exploration are fascinating because mathematical concepts such as arithmetic and geometric series are the most important ones applied during the Saluang manufacturing process. It will also be fascinating to apply in learning to motivate students to learn. The research method used is ethnography. Data were obtained from direct observation, interviews, literature reviews, and documentation. The results obtained from this study are that during the Saluang manufacturing process, there are cultural values ​​and mathematical concepts that include geometry and arithmetic series. Using leaves, cloth, and fingers to determine the distance between holes in making Saluang is a unique mathematical concept. This research can be used as a guideline for teachers in compiling learning devices by paying attention to activities that are very close to students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a science-based learning resource on the diversity of macroscopic fungi that can enhance the critical thinking skills of students in the Biology Education Program at FMIPA UNIMED. The research method used is development research employing the ADDIE model, which consists of five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The validation results from subject matter experts, instructional design experts, and layout design experts indicate that the developed textbook is highly suitable for use, with an average rating of 94.2%. The trial in the experimental class shows a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with the average post-test score rising from 70.50 to 92.10. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed textbook is effective in improving students' understanding and critical thinking skills.  Keywords: Critical Thinking, Science-Based Textbook, Diversity of Fungi, Development Research, ADDIE Model
