Abstract

Container depots serve as distribution centers connecting manufacturers to consumers viamaritime routes. To enhance service quality, this research aims to measure the service timesinvolved in the container reception and delivery processes at the depot. The analysis isconducted by collecting time data through direct observation and interviews with relevantstakeholders. One methods utilized is value stream mapping. focusing on identifying nonvalue added activities within the container transfer process. The study reveals significant leadand cycle times for various activities: during the receiving phase, the lead time recorded is2,514.43 seconds with a cycle time of 1,262.35 seconds, while the delivery phase shows alead time of 2,280.21 seconds and a cycle time of 1,301.89 seconds. Through VSM, theanalysis highlights inefficiencies in the container transfer process, emphasizing areas wherenon-value added activities contribute to delays and increased operational times. Bypinpointing these inefficiencies, the study aims to provide actionable insights to streamlineprocesses, reduce lead and cycle times, and enhance overall operational efficiency at thedepot.

Abstract

This research was conducted at a Logistic Company in Surabaya, where employee work demands were increasing but inversely proportional to the number of employees who are decreasing due to resignation. High work demands make most employees work overtime, which can affect employees' work-life balance. The company explained that it does not have an overtime system, so employees do not receive incentives as compensation for the extra contributions made. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of work-life balance and compensation on employee job satisfaction. The study used multiple linear regression analysis. The data used with a sampling technique is saturated sample. The data were processed using SPSS 25 with the results of the t test showing the value of t count 2,519> 2,026 t table and a significance value of 0,016 < 0,05, so that work-life balance partially affects job satisfaction. The t value is 5,104> 2,026 t table and the significance value is 0.000 < 0.05, so compensation partially affects job satisfaction. The results of the f test show the value of f count 18,749 > 4,105 F table and a significance value of 0,000 <0,05, so it can be concluded that work-life balance and compensation simultaneously affect job satisfaction

Abstract

Railgun adalah sistem peluncur proyektil elektromagnetik yang menggunakan medan magnet dari arus listrik yang mengalir pada dua rel yang disusun paralel untuk mengakselerasikan proyektil dengan memanfaatkan prinsip Gaya Lorentz. Secara teori, Railgun memiliki kelebihan dimana kekuatan dari tembakan yang dilakukan tergantung pada besarnya arus yang mengalir pada rel akselerator tersebut. Oleh karena itu, Railgun menjadi salah satu teknologi yang diharapkan dapat menjadi sistem persenjataan masa depan. Akan tetapi, teknologi railgun pada saat ini masih dalam tahap prototipe. Sistem railgun yang telah dibuat memiliki beberapa kelemahan diantaranya besarnya arus yang dibutuhkan, overheat, serta ukuran yang besar. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan utama untuk melakukan miniaturisasi dari sistem railgun yang telah ada dan mendesain sistem railgun yang bersifat portabel serta mengatasi beberapa masalah yang ada pada sistem railgun yang ada saat ini seperti kebutuhan arus yang tinggi serta reliabilitas dari sistem yang ada untuk membuat railgun yang didesain ini bersifat praktikal. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan, secara teori, sistem railgun yang bersifat portabel dapat dibuat dengan menggunakan sistem 2-stage acceleration dimana menggunakan peluru konvensional untuk mengakselerasikan peluru pada tahap awal sebelum diakselerasikan oleh rel akselerator membantu memberikan peluru tersebut kecepatan awal sebelum akselerasi yand sangat membantu dalam mengurangi besarnya arus yang dibutuhkan. Selain itu, berdasarkan perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, terjadi peningkatan karakteristik dari peluru yang ditembakkan dalam aspek kecepatan, jarak serta energi kinetik yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, the role of trade as a driver of a country's economic growth is increasingly significant (Hasoloan, 2013). Good logistics movement is the key to equitable economic development. This study aims to analyze the quality of container stuffing outbound flows in a logistics shipping company in Surabaya using the Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) method. The main problem identified was operational delays due to the scarcity of empty containers at container yards, which occurred 130 times in the 4th quarter of 2023. The analysis using the Six Sigma method showed a DPMO value of 477,900 and a sigma value of 1.56, which indicated an inefficiency in operations. The DMAIC approach proposes improvement solutions to increase container availability and optimize trucking operations, thereby increasing On-Time Performance (OTP) from 88% to 90%. Implementing these improvements is expected to increase productivity and customer satisfaction and reduce operational costs due to delays.
