Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Influence of Training and Education on the Development of MSMEs in the Community of Kwala Serapuh Langkat Village Moderated by Motivation Variables. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach. The research population is all MSMEs in Kwala Serapuh Langkat village, which is as many as 120 MSMEs. The research sample is 70 MSMEs selected by the purposive sampling method. The research data was collected through questionnaires. Data analysis using SEMPLS. The government and related parties need to improve training and education programs for MSME actors. MSMEs need to increase awareness of the importance of training and education for their business development. In addition, training and education can also increase the motivation of MSME managers to develop their businesses. The results of this study directly show that Motivation does not have a significant positive influence on the development of Community MSMEs. Training has a significant positive influence on the development of Community MSMEs. Training does not have a significant positive influence on the development of Community MSMEs. Education has a significant positive influence on Community Motivation. Education has a significant positive influence on the development of community MSMEs. Meanwhile, indirectly, the training does not have a significant positive influence on the Development of Community MSMEs Moderated by Motivational Variables. Abstract

This study explores the strategies for controlling emotions in early childhood through the implementation of play therapy. Emotional regulation is a critical aspect of a child's development, significantly impacting their social interactions and overall well-being. Play therapy, as an evidence-based intervention, provides a safe and structured environment for children to express their emotions, develop coping mechanisms, and improve emotional intelligence. This research examines various play therapy techniques and their effectiveness in helping young children manage emotions such as anger, fear, and sadness. Through qualitative analysis, the study identifies key components of successful play therapy sessions, including the role of the therapist, the types of play activities used, and the outcomes observed in children's emotional behavior. The findings suggest that play therapy is a valuable tool for early childhood educators and therapists in promoting healthy emotional development, reducing behavioral issues, and enhancing children's ability to navigate complex emotional experiences. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the benefits of play therapy and underscores its importance in early childhood education and mental health practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of reward and punishment policies on employee work discipline at the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) Medan. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational survey method. The research population consists of all employees at BKN Medan, with a sample of 150 employees selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Validity and reliability tests were conducted to ensure that the instruments used were valid and reliable. The results show that reward policies have a significant positive effect on employee work discipline (β = 0.45, p < 0.01), meaning that the better the reward policies implemented, the higher the level of employee work discipline. Punishment policies also have a significant positive effect on employee work discipline (β = 0.35, p < 0.01), indicating that the implementation of firm and fair punishments can improve work discipline. The interaction between reward and punishment policies is not significant (β = 0.10, p > 0.05), suggesting that the combined effect of these policies is not significantly different from the effect of each policy individually. These findings support the motivation and reinforcement theory, which states that positive rewards and negative consequences can influence individual behavior. The practical implications of this research are the importance of designing fair and relevant reward policies and consistently applying punishments to enhance employee work discipline. This study also recommends further research with a qualitative approach and broader scope to deepen the understanding of factors affecting work discipline.

Abstract

The Education and Training Development Program for the Pematang Serai Village Community has had a positive impact on the village community. Villagers have managed to improve their knowledge and skills, so that they can improve their economy. Villagers have also become more independent and can contribute positively to village development. Villagers have managed to improve their knowledge and skills, villagers have been able to improve their economy by using the new skills they learned and villagers have become more independent and can contribute positively to village development. Activities have shown that with good cooperation between the government, universities, and the community, effective and efficient community service activities can be carried out, and can provide tangible benefits to the community.

Abstract

The activity "Network Development, Collaboration Between MSMEs in Pematang Serai Village: The Role of Human Resources in Increasing Synergy and Shared Growth" is an initiative that aims to strengthen the relationship between micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) units in Pematang Serai Village. This research explores how network development and collaboration between MSMEs can contribute to synergy and shared growth at the local level. Through a participatory approach, various business actors in Pematang Serai Village engage in training activities, workshops, and discussion sessions to increase their understanding of the benefits of collaboration. In an ever-changing global context, these efforts are directed at building the sustainability and resilience of local economies by optimizing the potential of human resources (HR). The result of this activity is an increase in awareness and collaboration capabilities among MSMEs, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and resources, and stimulating sustainable business growth. Through strong partnerships between MSMEs, it is hoped that Pematang Serai Village can better face future challenges and opportunities, and have a positive impact on the local economy and the community as a whole.

Abstract

Occupational safety in the construction sector is a crucial issue that has a direct impact on project productivity and sustainability. This study aimed to empirically test the effect of knowledge about occupational health and safety and the work environment on the implementation of safety systems for construction workers. A quantitative approach was used with a survey method involving 47 workers on a construction project in Medan. The analysis technique used was multiple linear regression testing. The results showed that knowledge had a significant positive effect on the implementation of safety (t = 16.470; p = 0.000); while the work environment had a significant negative effect (t = -16.537; p = 0.000). Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect on the implementation of safety systems (F = 148.033; p = 0.000) with an R² determination value of 0.871. These findings conclude that increasing knowledge about occupational health and safety has a dominant role; while adaptive work environment management is very important to increase the effectiveness of safety systems in construction projects.Keywords: occupational health and safety; knowledge; work environment; safety system; construction workers ABSTRAK Keselamatan kerja di sektor konstruksi merupakan isu krusial yang berdampak langsung pada produktivitas dan keberlanjutan proyek. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris pengaruh pengetahuan tentang kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja serta lingkungan kerja terhadap penerapan sistem keselamatan pada pekerja konstruksi. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan metode survei yang melibatkan 47 pekerja pada proyek konstruksi di Medan. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah uji regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan berpengaruh positif secara signifikan terhadap penerapan keselamatan (t = 16,470; p = 0,000); sedangkan lingkungan kerja berpengaruh negatif secara signifikan (t = -16,537; p = 0,000). Secara simultan, kedua variabel berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap penerapan sistem keselamatan (F = 148,033; p = 0,000) dengan nilai determinasi R² sebesar 0,871. Temuan ini menyimpulkan bahwa peningkatan pengetahuan tentang kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja memiliki peran dominan; sedangkan pengelolaan lingkungan kerja yang adaptif sangat penting untuk meningkatkan efektivitas sistem keselamatan di proyek pekerjaan konstruksi.Kata kunci: keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja; pengetahuan; lingkungan kerja; sistem keselamatan; pekerja konstruksi

Abstract

Occupational safety and health are crucial elements in the implementation of construction projects, considering the high risk of work accidents in this sector. This study aimed to analyze the differences in occupational safety and health management systems between Indonesia and the United States; in order to identify best practices that can be adopted to improve the effectiveness of the construction safety management system in Indonesia. This study was conducted using a literature study method; which examines regulations, implementation, safety culture, and occupational safety technology from various official sources and scientific publications. The results of the study showed that the United States, through the occupational safety and health administration, has a more structured occupational safety and health system, with comprehensive worker training, strict supervision, and adoption of high technology. In contrast, in Indonesia, the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system still faces challenges in the form of low compliance, minimal training, and weak law enforcement. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for reform of the occupational safety and health management system in Indonesia by increasing the capacity of supervisors, adopting technology, and building a safety culture, with reference to best practices from the United States.Keywords: construction work; Indonesia; United States; occupational safety and health; occupational safety and health management system; occupational safety and health administration ABSTRAK Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja merupakan elemen krusial dalam pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi, mengingat tingginya risiko kecelakaan kerja pada sektor ini. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan sistem manajemen keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja antara Indonesia dan Amerika Serikat; guna mengidentifikasi praktik terbaik yang dapat diadopsi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas sistem manajemen keselamatan konstruksi di Indonesia. Studi ini dilakukan menggunakan metode studi literatur; yang mengkaji regulasi, implementasi, budaya keselamatan, serta teknologi keselamatan kerja dari berbagai sumber resmi dan publikasi ilmiah. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa Amerika Serikat, melalui occupational safety and health administration, memiliki sistem keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja yang lebih terstruktur, dengan pelatihan pekerja yang menyeluruh, pengawasan ketat, dan adopsi teknologi tinggi. Sebaliknya, di Indonesia, implementasi sistem manajemen keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja masih menghadapi tantangan berupa rendahnya kepatuhan, minimnya pelatihan, serta lemahnya penegakan hukum. Kesimpulan dari studi ini menegaskan perlunya reformasi sistem manajemen keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja di Indonesia melalui peningkatan kapasitas pengawas, adopsi teknologi, dan pembangunan budaya keselamatan, dengan mengacu pada praktik terbaik dari Amerika Serikat.Kata kunci: pekerjaan konstruksi; Indonesia; Amerika Serikat; keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja; sistem manajemen keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja; occupational safety and health administration

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh budaya keselamatan dan kepatuhan karyawan terhadap prosedur Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) pada proyek konstruksi rumah sakit di Kota Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional, serta melibatkan seluruh populasi karyawan proyek sebagai sampel sebanyak 46 orang dengan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner, observasi terstruktur, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik budaya keselamatan maupun kepatuhan karyawan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap efektivitas prosedur K3, dengan nilai koefisien regresi masing-masing sebesar 0,510 dan 0,768. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,981 menunjukkan bahwa 98,1% variasi prosedur K3 dapat dijelaskan oleh kedua variabel tersebut. Kepatuhan karyawan menjadi faktor yang paling dominan dalam meningkatkan efektivitas implementasi prosedur K3. Kesimpulannya, budaya keselamatan dan kepatuhan karyawan secara simultan merupakan prediktor kuat terhadap efektivitas pelaksanaan prosedur K3, sehingga organisasi perlu memperkuat keduanya secara seimbang.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) is a crucial aspect in creating a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. This study aims to identify and analyze effective OHS management strategies for improving employee productivity in the manufacturing industry. A quantitative approach was used, distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents working in a medium-sized manufacturing company. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine the influence of various OHS strategy variables, such as safety training, risk communication, management involvement, and the implementation of standard work procedures, on employee productivity levels.The results indicate that regular safety training and open risk communication significantly influence productivity increases. Furthermore, management involvement in the implementation of OHS programs has been shown to strengthen the company's safety culture. Consistent implementation of work procedures also minimizes workplace accidents and downtime. This study confirms that a planned, structured, and integrated OHS management strategy positively contributes to employee performance, both in terms of work efficiency and motivation.The implications of these findings underscore the importance of a company's commitment to implementing a sustainable OHS management system. Recommendations are given for companies to continue strengthening training, improving internal communication, and increasing the active role of leaders in K3 supervision to create a work environment that supports optimal productivity.
