Abstract

This study examines how emotional support functions as a way for parents to accept children with special needs. It is considered important to strengthen the connection between parents and children and help children understand and accept themselves. Data were collected from four parents of children with special needs in a kindergarten in East Bandung through a qualitative research method using interview and questionnaire instruments. The results of the study indicate that parental acceptance of themselves by providing emotional support is very important for children's emotional development. Parents who accept their child's situation tend to share better emotional support, such as affection, support, appreciation, encouragement, involvement in decision-making, and validation of their child's feelings. This support also builds children's self-confidence and makes them feel accepted by their environment. Self-acceptance in parents is a difficult process that involves complex emotional stages ranging from rejection to acceptance. Families and communities have shown that their support is very important to help parents in the process of creating a friendly and supportive environment for children with special conditions.

Abstract

Neonatal sepsis remains a major health problem in Indonesia, with a prevalence of 8–15% in referral hospitals and contributing to the second leading cause of infant mortality after asphyxia (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022). Risk factors influencing the incidence of neonatal sepsis include prematurity, low birth weight (LBW), gender, and invasive procedures. At Budhi Asih Regional Hospital, Jakarta, the incidence of neonatal sepsis in 2024 was recorded at 46.69% of 272 NICU patients. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the factors influencing the incidence of neonatal sepsis in the NICU of Budhi Asih Regional Hospital, Jakarta. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional design. The study population was all infants treated in the NICU of Budhi Asih Regional Hospital from January to December 2024. A sample of 80 infants was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The independent variables were gestational age, gender, birth weight, and invasive procedures, while the dependent variable was the incidence of neonatal sepsis. The research instrument was medical record data analyzed using the Chi-square test at a 95% confidence level. Gestational Age: Infants with gestational age <37 weeks experienced more neonatal sepsis than full-term infants (p<0.05). Low Birth Weight (<2500 gr) was significantly associated with the incidence of neonatal sepsis (p<0.05). Gender: There was no significant association between gender and the incidence of neonatal sepsis (p>0.05). Invasive Procedures: Infants who underwent invasive procedures were at higher risk of neonatal sepsis (p<0.05). Factors associated with the incidence of neonatal sepsis in the NICU of Budhi Asih Hospital, Jakarta were gestational age, low birth weight, and invasive procedures. Gender was not associated with the incidence of neonatal sepsis. Prevention of neonatal sepsis needs to be focused on close monitoring of premature infants, LBW, and infection control related to invasive procedures in the NICU.

Abstract

High outpatient revisit interest reflects good health services that meet patient expectations. However, in Lumajang, 25 health centers experienced a decline in outpatient revisit numbers. This study aimed to examine the relationship between patient satisfaction and dimensions of service quality with outpatient revisit interest at Lumajang Health Center. Using a cross-sectional design, the study involved 386 outpatients selected through purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria included health centers with a decline of over 200 visits, patients aged 15-50 years, literate, spiritually healthy, and visiting for the first time between December 2023 and February 2024. Exclusion criteria were severe illness or mental disorders hindering questionnaire completion. Data were collected through direct questionnaires and analyzed using chi-square tests. Results showed that 90.4% of patients were satisfied with health services. Service quality dimensions scored as follows: tangibility (91.2%), reliability (60%), responsiveness (93.8%), health insurance (95.6%), and empathy (87.8%). The chi-square analysis revealed a significant relationship between responsiveness and revisit interest (p=0.034). However, no significant relationship was found between revisit interest and satisfaction, tangibility, reliability, health insurance, or empathy (p>0.05). In conclusion, while most patients expressed satisfaction with the services provided, the key factor influencing revisit interest was the responsiveness of health workers. This highlights the importance of responsive healthcare in fostering patient loyalty and improving outpatient revisit rates.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the SIAPIK application-based digital accounting system to support business upgrading among MSMEs in Bukittinggi. The research is motivated by the persistently low quality of financial recording in MSMEs and the growing need for digital transformation to achieve effective, transparent, and sustainable business management. A qualitative case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. The research informants consisted of 15 MSME practitioners selected through purposive sampling, based on the criteria of being registered entities, possessing a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP), and having operated for over 2 years. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal four major themes: SIAPIK as an instrument for business regularity, digitalization as a strategy for business upgrading, challenges in digital literacy and technological adaptation, and digital accounting as a driver for business sustainability. The use of the SIAPIK application assists MSMEs in enhancing financial administration, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making, as well as facilitating access to financing and business legality. However, its implementation still encounters obstacles, such as limited technological proficiency and a lack of digitalization mentoring. This research contributes to the development of sustainable accounting discourse and MSME digital transformation, providing practical implications for the reinforcement of digital literacy programs and specialized mentoring in the use of the SIAPIK application.
