Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of classroom management and the management of educational facilities and infrastructure in creating an effective learning environment that supports the improvement of elementary school students’ academic achievement. Well-managed learning conditions are believed to enhance student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes. Therefore, this research aims to describe the implementation of classroom management and facilities management, as well as their contribution to improving students’ academic achievement in elementary schools in Pangkalan District. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving teachers, school principals, and students as the main informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. The findings indicate that teachers have implemented classroom management through lesson planning, initial classroom conditioning, rule setting, and varied instructional strategies that support student engagement. School facilities are considered adequate, although unevenly distributed, and their utilization has been shown to increase students’ motivation and understanding. In conclusion, effective classroom management combined with supportive facilities significantly contributes to improving students’ academic achievement.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to many areas of life, including education. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the fastest-growing technologies and has begun to be used to improve the quality of learning, increase the efficiency of education management, and support data-driven decision making. However, the success of AI integration depends heavily on schools’ readiness. This study aims to analyze the influence of school readiness in integrating AI on improving the quality of education. The method used is library research by reviewing various relevant scientific literature published between 2020 and 2026. Data sources include academic books, scientific journals, research reports, policy documents, and publications from UNESCO and the OECD. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis through the stages of identification, categorization, synthesis, and drawing conclusions. The results show that school readiness—which includes digital leadership, teacher competence, technological infrastructure, data governance, and a culture of innovation—has a positive effect on improving education quality. Schools that are ready tend to be able to utilize AI optimally, while schools that are not yet ready are at risk of experiencing a digital divide. The implication of this study is the need to systematically strengthen school readiness as a strategic prerequisite for AI-based educational transformation. ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan. Artificial Intelligence (AI) menjadi salah satu teknologi yang berkembang pesat dan mulai dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, efisiensi pengelolaan pendidikan, serta mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis data. Namun, keberhasilan integrasi AI sangat bergantung pada kesiapan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kesiapan sekolah dalam mengintegrasikan AI terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka (library research) dengan menelaah berbagai literatur ilmiah yang relevan terbit pada rentang tahun 2020–2026. Sumber data meliputi buku akademik, jurnal ilmiah, laporan penelitian, dokumen kebijakan, serta publikasi UNESCO dan OECD. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif melalui tahapan identifikasi, kategorisasi, sintesis, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesiapan sekolah yang meliputi kepemimpinan digital, kompetensi guru, infrastruktur teknologi, tata kelola data, dan budaya inovasi berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Sekolah yang siap cenderung mampu memanfaatkan AI secara optimal, sedangkan sekolah yang belum siap berpotensi mengalami kesenjangan digital. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah perlunya penguatan kesiapan sekolah secara sistemik sebagai prasyarat strategis transformasi pendidikan berbasis AI.
