Abstract

Malnutrition in toddlers is not immediately addressed, the impact can last into adult, efforts are needed to overcome malnutrition in the toddler age group, one of which is through the Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT). This aim of study was analyze differences in the nutritional status of toddlers based on weight/age, weight/height, height/age, changes in weight and height increase before and after the provision of Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT) in the working area of the Puskesmas Citeras. the provision of Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT) being part of the program Pemerintah Kabupaten Garut in a series of Temukan, Obati Sayangi balita Stunting (TOSS). The PMT intervention was carried out from 1 August 2022 to 30 October 2022. The research subjects who received PMT were total sampling with 112 stunting toddler cases found aged 6-23 months. The PMT given is commercial milk 4 teaspoons (tsp) 2x/day and one egg a day. After 2 months of receiving PMT, there was a change in nutritional status after giving PMT to toddlers with normal weight of 93.8%, and there were differences in nutritional status based on body weight and length/height between after and before getting PMT with p value 0.000. The conclusion there are differences in the nutritional status of toddlers with anthropometric indices of weight/height, weight/age, and height/age before and after getting Supplementary Feeding Program (PMT).Permasalahan kekurangan gizi pada balita  jika tidak segera ditangani dampaknya dapat bertahan sampai dewasa, sehingga perlu adanya upaya dalam mengatasi kekurangan gizi pada kelompok usia balita salah satunya melalui program Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT). Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk menganalisis adanya perbedaan pada status gizi balita berasarkan BB/U, BB/TB, TB/U, perubahan berat badan dan kenaikan tinggi badan sebelum dan setelah Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Citeras. Pemberian Makanan Tambahan (PMT) ini merupakan bagian dari program Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Garut dalam rangkaian kegiatan Temukan, Obati Sayangi balita Stunting (TOSS). Intervensi pemberian PMT dilaksanakan mulai 1 Agustus 2022 sampai 30 Oktober 2022. Subjek penelitian yang mendapatkan PMT yaitu total sampling dengan kasus balita stunting yang ditemukan sebanyak 112 orang dan berusia 6-23 bulan. PMT yang diberikan yaitu susu komersil 4 sendok teh (sdt) 2x/hari dan telur satu butir sehari. Setelah 2 bulan mendapat PMT terdapat perubahan status gizi setelah pemberian PMT balita dengan berat badan normal 93,8%, serta terdapat perbedaan status gizi berdasarkan berat badan dan panjang/tinggi badan antara sesudah dan sebelum mendapatkan PMT p value 0,000. Terdapat perbedaan pada status gizi balita dengan indeks antropometri BB/TB, BB/U, dan TB/U saat sebelum dan setelah mendapatkan PMT.

Abstract

Reading food labels among students is currently important to prevent consume excessive amounts of certain nutrients, resulting in excess nutrition or deficiencies in certain nutrients needed by the body. Substance information obtained from food labels is an important source of nutritional information but is usually underutilized by consumers. The information on food labels helps consumers become savvy about their food choices. This research using cross sectional design. Respondents in this study were students from the students of the nutrition undergraduate study program in Institut Kesehatan Mitra Bunda with a total of 47 respondents. Sample selection was carried out using purposive sampling. The data collection method in this study was through a questionnaire. Respondent’s will fill in the questionnaire given themselves by following the instructions that will be explained before filling out the questionnaire by the data collection team. Data on respondents' ability to read nutritional value information labels was obtained from several multiple choice questions regarding the quantitative information contained in the food labels. It was found that of the 38 respondents who had good ability to read nutritional value information labels, there were 55.3% (21 respondents) who did not comply with reading nutritional value information labels. Then the statistical test results obtained were 0.908. Majority of respondents have good abilities but are not obedient in reading nutritional value information labels. The behavior of reading food labels can be used as a preventive and promotive to maintain health.

Abstract

The balance of nutritional consumption with metabolic needs in the body has an impact on an individual's nutritional status. Knowledge is included in one of the factors that influence an individual's nutritional status. This research aims to ensure the level of nutrition knowledge had a relation to the Body Mass Index (BMI) of students in Kepulauan Riau. The approach used in this research used a cross-sectional research design. The sample used in this research was 50 students of the undergraduate program of nutrition science in Kepulauan Riau. Nutritional knowledge data was collected by using an electronic questionnaire and BMI was measured by weight and height. Data was analyzed by descriptive and regression. The results showed that the average nutrition knowledge score was in the medium category (66.6±12.34). Whereas BMI score shows that 62% of students have got normal BMI, while 20% and 18% are overweight and underweight. Regression analyses showed that r=0.172 with p=0.233. Our findings stated that nutritional knowledge had no significant difference in BMI.

Abstract

Fast food is defined as food with low nutritional quality, namely high in sugar, salt, fat and low in fiber and served with a fast process. The choice of food consumption in individuals is influenced by several factors, one of which is the knowledge possessed by the individual. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between nutritional knowledge and the frequency of fast food consumption habits. The research design used an observational type with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples in this study was 158 people with a total sampling technique. The results of the study showed that subjects who had good knowledge were 95 people (60.2%) and less knowledge were 63 people (39.8%). Individuals who had a frequent frequency of fast food consumption were 82 people (51.9%) and rarely were 76 people (48.1%). There was no relationship between nutritional knowledge and the frequency of fast food consumption in the young adult age group in the Riau Islands.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah gizi yang menjadi perhatian utama saat ini adalah masih tingginya anak balita pendek (Stunting). Pencegahan stunting dapat dilakukan melalui pemenuhan kebutuhan zat gizi bagi ibu hamil dengan asupan zat besi yang cukup sehingga dapat mencegah anemia pada ibu hamil. Salah satu jenis bahan makanan yang memiliki kandungan zat besi yang cukup tinggi adalah ikan bilis. Ikan bilis dapat diolah menjadi berbagai macam menu yang sehat dan enak seperti dimsum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis daya terima produk Dimsum Anemia dari Bilis (Si Danis) dengan komposisi ikan bilis yang berbeda. Penelitian dengan studi desain eksperimental membuat 3 perlakuan eksperimen. Eksperimen dilakukan untuk membuat 3 formula yang kemudian dilakukan uji organoleptik kepada 34 panelis semi terlatih.  Peralatan untuk uji organoleptic yaitu lembar penilaian, piring, dan gelas. Bahan baku yang digunakan untuk mengolah dimsum Si Danis yaitu ikan bilis, kulit pangsit, garam, gula, lada, bawang putih, tepung tapioka, tepung terigu, telur, minyak wijen, dan air. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu analisis non parametric dengan menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis untuk mengetahui perbedaan warna, aroma, rasa, tekstur dan keseluruhan setiap formula produk Si Danis. Penulis paling menyukai formula 1 untuk semua aspek baik dari warna, aroma, rasa, tekstur, dan keseluruhan. Formula 1 memiliki komposisi ikan bilis : daging ayam sebanyak 60:40. Hasil uji Kruskall-Wallis untuk aspek warna, aroma, rasa, tekstur, dan keseluruhan diperoleh bahwa perbandingan ikan bilis tidan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penilaian panelis.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daya terima dari produk eskperimen berupa Dimsum Anemia dari Bilis (Si Danis) paling diminati oleh panelis adalah perbandingan yang menggunakan bahan 60% dari bahan utama adalah ikan bilis dan 40% menggunakan daging ayam.

Abstract

Minuman manis merupakan minuman yang mengandung gula atau bahan pemanis berkalori yang dapat meningkatkan risiko penyakit Diabetes Melitus (DM) tipe II jika dikonsumsi berlebihan. Proporsi kebiasaan konsumsi minuman manis sebanyak 1 – 6 kali per minggu paling banyak pada kelompok usia 19 – 29 tahun (40%) dan Kepulauan Riau termasuk dalam peringkat kedua frekuensi terbanyak setelah Bangka Belitung di wilayah barat Indonesia. Kebiasaan konsumsi minuman manis dapat dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan dan sikap seseorang terhadap minuman manis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap konsumsi minuman manis pada kelompok usia dewasa muda di Kepulauan Riau. Jumlah sampel yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 158 orang yang berusia 19-29 tahun dan berdomisili di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau. Pengumpulan data pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap minuman manis diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner dan diolah menggunakan analisis univariat. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden memiliki pengetahuan baik sebanyak 147 orang (93%) dan sebagian besar responden memiliki sikap positif (53,2%) terhadap minuman manis. Kelompok usia dewasa muda seharusnya dapat mempertimbangkan jumlah gula dan kalori yang terkandung dalam minuman manis agar dapat mencegah terjadinya penyakit tidak menular.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a degenerative disease caused by increased blood glucose levels. Therapeutic recommendations for treating T2DM are the implementation of healthy lifestyle and pharmacological interventions. Germinated Black Rice contain high levels of fiber, anthocyanins and flavonoids. Functional beverage products Germinated Black Rice (GEMAR) is expected to help improve blood glucose levels and body weight in T2DM sufferers. This study aims to analyze the effect of beverage GEMAR at doses of 3.8 and 7.6 g/200 gBW on fasting blood glucose and body weight in T2DM rats. Laboratory experimental research method with design pre-posttest control group design. Samples of 30 male Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups. The results of the study found that the fasting blood glucose (GDP) of the acarbose drug group, P1 (GEMAR 3.8 g/200 g BW) and P2 (GEMAR 7.6 g/200 g BW) were significantly different (p<0.001) compared to the negative control group. GDP reducing effect of acarbose drug treatment (148%), P1 (177%), and P2 (128%). Body weight in the acarbose, P1 and P2 drug groups were significantly different (p<0.001) compared to the negative control. The improved effect of the drug groups acarbose (4%), P1 (7%), and P2 (5%) compared with adaptation. This research concludes that GEMAR P1 and P2 functional beverage can reduce GDP levels and improve body weight T2DM rats.
