Abstract

Pendahuluan: Pelayanan kefarmasian rumah sakit merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari sistem pelayanan kesehatan yang ada dirumah sakit yang berorientasi kepada pelayanan pasien, penyediaan obat, maupun pelayanan farmasi klinik. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan pasien terhadap pelayanan kefarmasian di Rumah Sakit Tentara Binjai. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei deskriptif melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien rawat jalan BPJS yang berobat di Rumah Sakit Tentara Binjai. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah Random Sampling. Besar sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 orang. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kategori tingkat kepuasan terbesar yaitu pada dimensi ketanggapan dan jaminan memiliki skor yang sama yaitu sebanyak 83,60% dengan kategori  puas, dimensi empati 83,52%dengan kategori puas, dimensi kehandalan 80,68% dengan kategori puas, dan  dimensi bukti fisik 76,60%dengan kategori puas. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yang berdasarkan 5 dimensi kualitas pelayanan adalah puas dengan persentase sebanyak 81,60% dengan kategori puas.

Abstract

Snack bar praktis dan digemari,dan memiliki rasa nikmat saat dikonsumsi. Kecambah beras hitam dan kecambah kacang hijau memiliki potensi sebagai bahan utama dalam pembuatan snack bar. Kecambah beras hitam mengandung antosianin dan senyawa fitokimia lainnya yang menambah nilai gizi. Kacang hijau mengandung protein, karbohidrat, dan serat tinggi dengan berbagai bagi pasien diabetes melitus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat uji mutu hedonik snack bar kecambah beras hitam. Metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap , dengan 3 perlakuan dan 2 pengulangan sehingga menghasilkan 6  formulasi. Penilaian mutu hedonik dilakukan oleh panelis agak terlatih sebanyak 25 orang. Analisis data menggunakan One Way ANOVA dan LSD dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini melaporkan nilai uji mutu hedonik snackbar kecambah beras hitam pada F1 (2,79); F2 (2,99); dan F3 (2,78). Hasil uji One Way Anova F1, F2, dan F3 uji mutu hedonik tekstur dan aroma tidak terdapat perbedaan (p>0,05). Uji mutu hedonik warna dan rasa terdapat perbedaan pada perlakuan F1, F2 dan F3 (p<0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini membuktikan snackbar kecambah beras hitam perlakuan F2 memiliki nilai uji mutu hedonik tertinggi.

Abstract

Background: Jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lamk.) contain antimicrobial compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, and saponins, which can damage bacterial cytoplasmic membranes and denature cellular proteins. This potential supports the development of a facial wash gel using jackfruit leaf extract as a natural antibacterial alternative. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a facial wash gel containing jackfruit leaf extract (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lamk.) in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC® 25923. Methods: This experimental study included sample preparation, identification, extraction, phytochemical screening, and gel formulation evaluation (organoleptic test, homogeneity, spreadability, foam height, pH, irritation, and cycling test). Antibacterial activity was tested against S. aureus, with a positive control (Himalaya (Brand) Facial Wash) and a negative control (DMSO). Results: The extract yield was 11.26%, positively detecting flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids, and triterpenoids. The gel formulations (F1-F3) were semi-solid, dark green, and had a characteristic jackfruit leaf aroma, with a pH of 5–6. Homogeneity tests confirmed uniform consistency, with the highest foam height in F3 (3.7 cm) and optimal spreadability in F1-F2 (6 cm). No irritation was observed, and the gel remained stable in cycling tests. The antibacterial test showed the highest inhibition at 12% extract concentration (92.3%), while the formulated gel also effectively inhibited S. aureus growth. Conclusion: Jackfruit leaves can be successfully formulated into a stable and safe facial wash gel with effective antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Yayasan Rumah Ceria Medan is an inclusive school located in Medan City. This school includes a preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school, with 16 children with special needs. Children with special needs face various problems, especially when participating in learning activities at school. One of them is the problem of focusing on learning. Children with intellectual disabilities are children who have problems focusing on learning. Playing is one of the important activities for children with intellectual disabilities because playing is a repetitive activity for pleasure and satisfaction. Fishing games are an educational game tool (APE) that is constructive and fun. The main function of fishing games in general is as a means to train children in understanding instructions given by the teacher, but specifically fishing games can be used to train children's focus. This activity aims to carry out fishing games as an activity to optimize focus for children with intellectual disabilities at Yayasan Rumah Ceria Medan. The steps of the activity consist of: 1) Introduction with a time of 5 minutes. 2) Core activities for 20 minutes. 3) Closing with a time of 5 minutes. After completing the activity, the educator evaluates the results of observations obtained during the game. Results: 1) Fishing games can improve the focus of children with intellectual disabilities, 2) Fishing game activities are used as routine therapy to improve the focus of children with intellectual disabilities, and 3) This activity is expected to be applicable to other children's conditions, including children with autism and ADHD.

Abstract

Metode ekstraksi yang sederhana adalah maserasi yaitu teknik pengekstrakan simplisia dengan menggunakan pelarut, yang melibatkan beberapa tahap perendaman dan pengadukan pada suhu ruangan. Pentingnya pendidikan ilmiah di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) terletak pada perannya yang krusial dalam membentuk pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep-konsep ilmiah. Salah satu aspek yang sangat signifikan adalah pemahaman terhadap ekstraksi bahan alam dengan metode maserasi. Metode kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah pemberian edukasi dalam bentuk ceramah, demonstrasi dan diskusi. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah Siswa mendapatkan informasi dasar tentang ektraksi dengan metode maserasi dan memahami aplikasi metode ekstraksi dari bahan alam yang mempunyai khasiat obat dengan metode tersebut.

Abstract

Era seperti saat ini, keberadaan sabun cuci tangan dirasa penting sebagai media dalam membersihkan permukaan kulit tangan. Sabun cair pembersih tangan sebagai media pembersih yang dalam saponifikasi menggunakan penambahan zat lain ataupun tanpa penambahan zat lain yang tidak menimbulkan iritasi kulit tangan. Artikel ini berupaya memberikan gambaran dan penjelasan terkait program kerja pembuatan sabun cuci tangan yang meliputi proses, tahapan, hasil, dan manfaatnya. Metode penulisan artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model deskriptif-eksplanatif. Data-data yang digunakan merupakan data primer yang didapatkan dari hasil observasi di lapangan, serta data sekunder yang didapatkan dari data-data penelitian terdahulu. Hasilnya masyarakat mendapatkan wawasan terkait proses pembuatan sabun cuci tangan dan lebih sadar akan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan tangan khususnya dimasa seperti saat ini. Selain itu juga dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa dalam penerapan kebersihan diri untuk meningkatkan Kesehatan dilingkungan.

Abstract

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is one of the plants used as a medicine that has various benefits for public health. Traditionally, ginger is often used by pounding it and applying it to the affected body part to relieve pain and various other complaints. In addition, ginger can also be processed into a balm preparation that is more practical and easy to use. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide education to the people of Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, North Sumatra, regarding the use of ginger in the form of a balm preparation. The ginger balm distributed to participants was made in the Pharmacy laboratory of the Haji University of North Sumatra. The community service methods used were education and lectures. The results of the activity showed that the material presented about the use of ginger in the form of a balm and how to make the preparation could be well understood by the participants. Participants were also interested in trying to make it independently. This shows that this community service activity has succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of the community in utilizing ginger as a medicinal plant.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a degenerative disease caused by increased blood glucose levels. Therapeutic recommendations for treating T2DM are the implementation of healthy lifestyle and pharmacological interventions. Germinated Black Rice contain high levels of fiber, anthocyanins and flavonoids. Functional beverage products Germinated Black Rice (GEMAR) is expected to help improve blood glucose levels and body weight in T2DM sufferers. This study aims to analyze the effect of beverage GEMAR at doses of 3.8 and 7.6 g/200 gBW on fasting blood glucose and body weight in T2DM rats. Laboratory experimental research method with design pre-posttest control group design. Samples of 30 male Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups. The results of the study found that the fasting blood glucose (GDP) of the acarbose drug group, P1 (GEMAR 3.8 g/200 g BW) and P2 (GEMAR 7.6 g/200 g BW) were significantly different (p<0.001) compared to the negative control group. GDP reducing effect of acarbose drug treatment (148%), P1 (177%), and P2 (128%). Body weight in the acarbose, P1 and P2 drug groups were significantly different (p<0.001) compared to the negative control. The improved effect of the drug groups acarbose (4%), P1 (7%), and P2 (5%) compared with adaptation. This research concludes that GEMAR P1 and P2 functional beverage can reduce GDP levels and improve body weight T2DM rats.

Abstract

Muntingia calabura L is an Indonesian herbal plant known as kersen which has the ability to reduce blood sugar levels. M. Calabura has secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids, saponins and polyphenols. This study aimed to compare the antidiabetic activities of water and ethanol extracts of M. calabura in male mice. In this study, M. calabura was extracted using the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent (EEMC) and decoction of Kersen leaves (EDMC). Blood glucose levels were measured at intervals of 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes using a glucometer after being induced by alloxan induction. Animals were divided into eight groups (positive group, negative group and EEMC group, and EDMC group with doses of 125, 250 and 500 mg/kg BW. The results of the investigation showed that the activity to reduce blood glucose levels during the interval time was significantly different compared to the negative group, and positive control was not significantly different compared to the EEMC 250 mg/kg BW and EDMC 500 mg/kg BW groups. The conclusion of this study was that the EEMC and EDMC groups had decreased blood glucose levels. EEMC 250mg/kg BW and EDMC 500 mg/kg BW groups showed comparable activity to the positive control.

Abstract

Cell rattan is very popular because it has properties in treating malaria, diabetes and also has appetite-stimulating properties. The chemical content of rattan consists of flavonoids, alcohol, triterpenoids, saponins and glycosides. Flavonoids consist of 15 carbon atoms with a C6-C3-C6 structure. In plants, flavonoids are bound to sugars in the form of flavonoid glycosides and aglycones. Research methods include making rattan extract using the maceration method, phytochemical screening, toxicity activity testing using the BSLT (Brine Shrimp Lethality Test) method and determining the LC50 value based on the probit value. The research results show that rattan extract contains secondary metabolite compounds, including steroids/triterpenoids, saponins, flavonoids, glycosides and alkaloids. The results of the toxicity activity test showed that the LC50 value was 322 ppm and was included in the toxic category.
